With recent reports that RHOD is returning for a second season, we couldn’t help but reach out to one our favorite southern housewives: Stephanie Hollman! The blonde Texan beauty has always been a warm and fun loving presence which was a welcome contrast to the ridiculous drama that others (LeeAnne) seemed to bring. We couldn’t resist talking fall fashion with the fashionista along with her thoughts on the housewives show. Check out Stephanie’s responses below!
AllAboutTRH: Thanks so much for taking the time to speak with AllAboutTRH! Tell us, what you have been up to since the RHOD reunion?
Stephanie Hollman: The season wrapped at just the right time for my boys to get out of school so I spent the summer enjoying time with them and playing with our new puppy, Biscuit. Currently my mission in life is to get him potty trained.
Was being a Bravo housewife everything you imaged? Overall would you say it was a positive experience?
This was defiantly something I never thought I would do but at the same time, I feel like I have grown so much over the past year. I learned more about myself as a person than I ever thought I would. I was a huge Real Housewives fan before joining the show, so it is all still very surreal to me. I watch the other franchises differently now because I know what its like to be on the other side of the screen and be judged. I am just so absolutely humbled by it all and can’t believe that this is my life.
You admitted that during filming you and your husband saw a therapist to stay proactive in your marriage. Is this something that you continue to do today and would you recommend it to other housewives (or couples in general?)
Yes, we see a therapist to check in occasionally. I think having a third party is not a bad thing. I am so pro therapy- it is crazy!
Speaking of housewives, we saw you partying it up in NYC recently with some NJ and NY ladies! Are you close friends with any ‘housewives’ from the other cities? Is there any other housewife you haven’t met that you would like to?
I love them all to be honest! I have known Jules for a little bit and she is a doll – I adore her! This past week I met Tamra Judge, who I can not say enough good things about. She is hands down the sweetest, most kind, genuine person I have ever met. I met a few of the RHONJ ladies and they are so much fun. Everyone is so sweet honestly! I would love to meet (even though she is not a housewife anymore) Kim Biermann from Atlanta. She is total goals! She seems so sweet, has the most precious family and not to mention a closet that is to die for. Plus, she gets to film her TV show in her house with her family all day- she is living my dream!
Let’s talk fashion. We saw you in NYC for fashion week. What were you loving and what were you not feeling this year?
This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I am over the ruffled ‘off the shoulder’ tops. I see them EVERYWHERE! It’s trendy, it’s cute – I get it. For me I want to be wearing something that no one else is wearing. I want to set my own trends. I don’t want to blend in, and fashion is all about having fun and being different!
What are your top fall fashion “must haves?”
I think a good coat is always a must. I recently bought these over-the-knee Stuart Weitzman boots that I am obsessed with- I have been wearing them with everything! I also think a totally awesome scarf or hat can change and entire outfit.
Aside from killer fashion, fall also brings ‘going back to school.’ How are your boys doing and how are you coping with them heading back to the classroom?
Well, this is the first year that Cruz (my youngest) is full time in school, so I am having a harder time with that than they are. They are loving school and thriving. Honestly, it is really cool to see them learning so much.
With a little more “free time” on your hands is your husband getting back to writing that old chore list? (we had to ask!)
Oh my goodness- no! I have become a lot more busy since Real Housewives of Dallas finished airing so I let him do his own silly chores. I make him a list now 😉
What can fans expect next from you?
When the show aired, I got so many questions about the clothes I was wearing on the show that I started a fashion blog. I have really been having fun with that and love sharing great finds with my followers. I would love to do more in fashion and beauty, so hopefully I can expand on that soon.
Any message you want to send out to your fans?
Thank you to everyone who has been so kind and gracious to me! I was honestly scared to see how people would react to the show and to me. To receive so much love and support from strangers who go out of their way to write nice things on my Instagram posts or on Twitter, it means the world to me. I can’t thank you enough! Thank you for welcoming my family and I into your home and allowing us to share a little bit of our lives with you. I am forever grateful for you all!
Special thanks to Stephanie for catching up with us here at AllAboutTRH!
