I have nothing against Mama Manzo but if I had a family that close and that involved I would have been gone long ago!
Despite leaving the nest a little later than most (no judgement – housing is expensive) Lauren and Vito are finally on their own. So is Lauren loving the alone time and freedom or is she missing her mother being there 24/7? Speaking to Bravo.com Lauren is revealing all!
Despite moving out, Lauren admits she still sees her mamma on a regular basis and is discovering new things about herself everyday:
“The new house is great. It’s going really great. I’m surprised at how much of a neat freak I am, although it’s only been a couple weeks. We’re happy there and I find that I’m alone a lot ’cause [Vito] works so much, so I do still see my mom a lot. We’ll have dinner and things like that.”
“I’m not very good at decorating, so I’m kind of just like [to my mom], decorate [and] do whatever you want. Sometimes she’ll be like, ‘Oh, do you like this?’ And I’ll be like, ‘No.’ Or she’ll show me something and be like, ‘Do you like this?’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t know; whatever you think.’ But if I absolutely hate it, I’ll be like, ‘Abosultely not. I hate that.”
Hm… sounds familiar to Pandora and Lisa Vanderpump! I wonder what poor Jason and Vito think of the super close mother-in-laws??
It seems Lauren has also learned the value of a dollar and learned that it’s important to take care of your assets. Caroline further commented on how owning a home has changed Lauren:
“It’s funny to me because in my house she’d drink something, she’d eat something, and her weave [was] all over the place and now I go to her house and [it’s], ‘Ma, clean the counter.’ So that’s really funny for me to see that her personality changed like that [snap].”
Lauren added “I’m completely spotless in my house.”
I’ll admit I turned into an organized/neat freak when I got my first home ]so I do understand where Lauren is coming from. I do wonder if Vito is annoyed by how close he is to his in-laws; however he had to know what he was signing up for when he met the Manzo clan!
