Real Housewives of New York star Jules Wainstein may not have gotten everything, but she sure did get a lot from her estranged husband Michael during their first go-around in divorce court.

Michael agreed to pay for Jules’ housing expenses, as well as the school and nanny expenses for their two young children, along with the $200 weekly food bill. However, Michael objected to his soon-to-be ex-wife’s demand for an additional $25,000 a month in spousal and child support.

In court, Michael’s lawyer claimed her client’s businesses have “suffered tremendously from the publicity” of the divorce and their time on RHONY. Going on to say Michael’s struggling financially and is in a lot of credit card debit – some are in default.

Jules’ lawyer scoffed at the explanation saying that the couple was accustomed to and enjoyed one lifestyle and “then suddenly the bills are not paid?!”

The Manhattan Supreme Court Justice, ordered Micahel to pay Jules $10,000 a month in spousal and child support; saying he would revisit that figure after seeing Michael’s statement of net worth and other financial documents showing what assists and liabilities he holds.

Meanwhile, the couple will remain living in the same home. Per the Court Justice’s order Michael can occupy one floor of the couple’s triplex, while Jules and kids can live on the top two floors.

“Both parties will remain in their respective spaces and with no infringement. Both of you need to keep a respectful distance, especially for the children’s sake. It would not serve them well if there is visible tension between you,” the judge told Jules and Michael.

However the couple did seem to be on the same page when it came to giving each other access to the children, and both attorneys told the judge they would work out a schedule.

Michael did want to give the weekly grocery allowance to the nanny “to ensure that there is proper food in the home for the children.” But Jules’ lawyer objected and the judge agreed that the grocery money should go to Jules.

I’m glad Jules got what she did get but hopefully she can get more once Michael’s financial records are exposed. I wasn’t a fan of Michael at all this season of RHONY; he seemed to care less about his wife or children.

Are you surprised at Jules’ settlement amount? Should she have gotten more?
