Bethenny Frankel’s bombshell was two weeks in the making and left Real Housewives of New York fans on the edge of their seats. In one of the most EPIC revelations in Housewives history, a teary-eyed and nervous Bethenny had to tell her co-star LuAnn de Lesseps that she has photos of her new fiancé being unfaithful.
While some believe, Bethenny was doing what any good friend would do others including LuAnn see it another way. LuAnn took to her Bravo blog and ripped Bethenny apart; calling her bitter and questioning her motives for revealing Tom unfaithfulness.
Would you tell your girlfriend if you saw her man with another woman? I think I would, yet it’s the way you tell your friend that matters. Instead of telling a close friend like Dorinda, who introduced me to Tom, Bethenny chose to tell Carole and Ramona first. If you call yourself concerned and a friend, would you share what you know with women who haven’t been the closest of friends in the past? Or would you tell the whole world before you share what you know privately? Obviously the person taking the photograph had an agenda and was all too happy to share that information with my “buddy” Bethenny. Her motivations are questionable to me at this point. Was I hurt when I found out that she had a photo of Tom and a girl at the Regency? Yes I was. I was devastated to the point of not knowing what to do next.
Thank God for our trip to the sandbar! Can you believe the guys on the boat that shouted out “chic ce la vie”? Making music is awesome and having people enjoy my songs still brings a smile to my face. I’m a team player and when I’m invited to a party, I party. Ramona and Sonja’s decision to join Bethenny and her friend at Bagatelle was fortunate knowing now what I didn’t know then. Dorinda planned a number of fabulous activities for us this season, and she’s a generous hostess and deserves to be treated with respect. If I were given the choice again to spend the day at sandbar with the girls, I’d choose sandbar any day. I like to try new things even though I like Bagatelle.
Again, I’m going to go on record to say that my marriage to my first husband was incredible, and even though we divorced, I wouldn’t trade a minute of it for the world. I have two beautiful children, and I’m still very good friends with my ex. This makes for very happy, well-adjusted children. I think that Bethenny is bitter over her divorce (that she’s still trying to get at this point), and it’s hard for her to see that some marriages, even though they end, were meant to happen and to be appreciated. I hope that she gets to this point in her life for her daughter’s sake.
I was blindsided when Bethenny shared with me what her friend saw at the Regency, and I asked the crew to stop filming me so I could process in private. My reaction was honest, and I was in pain.
I’m Team Bethenny on this one. You could see how tough this was for Bethenny, and I think Lu is now turning it around on Bethenny to deflect the attention away from Tom being unfaithful. Tom cheated, Bethenny was being a good friend and telling you about it. Lu could have prevented her relationship from being a topic all season so she shouldn’t act shocked at how or when Bethenny revealed Tom’s cheating to her. Oh, wait but then Lu would have had a storyline all season!
