Dolores has never put her love or energy into herself and her life now is in a place where she needs to, her children are getting older and will both soon be out of the house.
In this week’s Bravo Blog she gushes about her birthday party, and thanks Teresa and Siggy for their amazing planning. She also reveals how tough her past relationships have been, but assures us she’s excited to “focus on me!”
What a party!!! Thank you so much to my dear friends, Teresa and Siggy, for throwing me such a beautiful birthday celebration. Just as she does with everything in her life, Siggy really put her heart and soul into planning the event and making everything perfect, and it truly showed. The ladies and I bonded and had some really great laughs –- I think it’s safe to say that everyone had a wonderful time (especially Melissa!). Drink up.
That afternoon was the perfect way for me to begin a new chapter in my life , a chapter where I can FINALLY begin to focus on ME. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been giving all of myself to everyone else around me. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved every minute of raising my children and caring for my friends and family. But my kids are growing up quickly, and while they’ll always need me (I hope!), they’ve become more and more independent. I couldn’t be more proud of my Gabby and Frankie and the incredible people they have turned out to be! The time is right now for me to put as much energy into myself as I have into everyone around me through the years.
After being in some crummy, unsuccessful relationships, it’s taken awhile for me to finally realize my worth and that I deserve someone wonderful to share my life with. Before I go down that road, I know that I need to love myself unconditionally first. I owe it to myself after all I’ve been through. I’m working on that.
My decision to reinvent myself couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m so thrilled to be an “official” Housewife! You may have seen me on the show before, as I’ve appeared on several episodes in the past. The timing for me to join was just right! I’m happy that you’ll be joining me on this RHONJ roller coaster ride. Get ready to see a lot of ups and downs, but most of all real friendships, real relationships and real life.
Dolores appeared on WWHL Sunday night and while she seemed a bit nervous I loved watching her and thought she had a great dynamic with Andy! Her son Frankie behind the bar was very easy on the eyes as his mom teased he had been working on his abs “extra hard” because he was coming on the show; Andy thanked him for all of us!
Andy put Dolores in the hot seat right away and asked her to rank how close she iswith Teresa Giudice, Dina Manzo, and Caroline Manzo, and Jacqueline Laurita; her answer will probably shock you! “We’re all great friends. Dina, I haven’t spoken to in a very long time,” Dolores dished. The she added that “Teresa and Jacqueline share a spot in the middle,” leaving Caroline in the top spot because of their “unique relationship.” She further explained, “Caroline’s in a spot of her own because she’s like a mentor to me and we’re in a different friendship. We’re close.”
We already told you that Dolores’ son was recently hanging out with Albie Manzo, and Sunday night both he and Chris came to support Frankie as the guest bartender; seriously so cute! Andy then asked Frankie who his mother he is closest with and he replied, “I know my mother’s very close with everybody and it’s a hard question!”
I definitely think Dolores and Siggy are brining something new to RHONJ and I am really enjoying season 7 so far, I had no doubts! Dolores’ kids were refreshing and real, I can’t wait to see more of her family. It’s nice to see Caroline and Dolores support each other so publicly, but this whole Manzo world is a small one. Dolores stating that she hasn’t spoken to Dina in “a very long time” and is closest with Caroline makes it obvious that she chose a side in that sister feud. I do think it’s interesting that she didn’t even mention Jacqueline in her blog, but I wish she had officially said she is better friends with Tre, maybe one day!
