Melissa Gorga may have always been told “to be a cook in the kitchen, a lady in the parlor, and a whore in the bedroom” but now she wants to be businesswomen as well. While Melissa doesn’t see anything wrong with attempting to work outside of the home, her hubby Joe Gorga wants his wife at home and in the kitchen. In her Bravo blog this week Melissa opens up about her struggle to become a working mom and reveals Joe’s genuine feelings about her new venture.
Jersey’s changin’ and I hope you all enjoyed the fun episode!
Siggy and Teresa threw a great party for Dolores. Every Jersey girl has to have a little leopard in their wardrobe! As you could see, I may have had a little too much FUN, but it was nice to have all the girls together and to let loose. I am my own spirit animal, and I own it! I love when Melissa Mother F—ing Gorga comes out to play. The car ride home with Teresa and I was one of my favorite moments from the episode. We definitely have a good time together. For the record, she is a terrible driver! LOL.
Another favorite from the episode was seeing Dolores’ family. I am absolutely obsessed with her grandmother. God bless her! And we also got to see Siggy’s beautiful children. I have to say the new girls are such a great addition.
This week, Envy really starts to come together. I love being able to bring my personal style to the boutique. I spent a lot time meeting with designers and visiting showrooms. I am so proud of the Envy team and my business partner, Jackie, for helping me bring my dream into a reality and no matter what we may disagree on, we both put our hearts into creating Envy and want to make it a success.
As you all know, I absolutely love being a mom. It is the most rewarding job in the world and being able to pursue other projects is definitely a change to our daily family dynamic, especially for Joe. I am still trying to figure out the balance between being a mom, and a wife, and a store owner. You will definitely get to see how Joe and I maneuver these changes. He may drag his feet and give me a hard time, but he really is supportive of Envy; he built the entire store and I cannot thank him enough.
I can’t wait for you to see the opening of Envy next week!
Lots of love always,
Joe is an “old school” Italian and wants the very traditional marriage where the wife stays home and the husband works, but I think he will come around to Melissa’s latest business venture. I’m excited to see how Envy comes together next week!
