RHONJ is one of the most popular Bravo shows, and after a long hiatus, viewers were anxiously wondering if it would come back strong. While other outlets are reporting that the numbers disappointed, we reached out to an insider to get the real scoop!
Reports state that 1.7 million viewers tuned into the premiere, which would seem low at first glance. While the numbers may seem lower than anticipated, our insider exclusively stated that “Bravo is far from upset with the RHONJ season 7 premiere numbers.” Why you may ask?
First off, the 1.7 million were just live viewers. This is not including those that used their DVR or watched it at another time (like me!) RHONJ also boosted Shahs ratings and was one of the top 5 shows on at that time!
Another reason Bravo wasn’t concerned with the ratings was that they are also interested in demographics. RHONJ came in at a .68 in the 18-49 group which was huge for demographics.
Of course, premiere numbers are just a part of the picture and no doubt Bravo (and us) will be watching the numbers week to week to see how the show is doing.
Viewers are still getting to know the new girls and wait for storylines to unfold so I wouldn’t be surprised if the number start to creep back up. Overall, our source has confirmed that Bravo isn’t concerned.
