Apparently there is some love lost between former couple Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas! While Cynthia has announced that the two will definitely be divorcing, apparently the two still have love for each other despite going their separate ways.
Speaking to E! recently, Cynthia states that she still loves Peter – just not in that whole husband/wife way saying:
“I don’t want it to be an ugly divorce because I still love Peter. I just don’t want to be married to Peter anymore. It’s as simple as that.”
Peter then responded to UPTOWN magazine, saying that the love was mutual and also denied having an affair (despite what rumors and videos may have insinuated:)
“I love Cynthia. I have never cheated on her. She knows this. I have never taken money from Cynthia. She knows this. I have never done anything, but love and defend my wife. She knows this too.”
One thing Peter does regret is the divorce itself along with how it was handled:
“We have discussed divorce. [But] it wasn’t something that I wanted. But it is something that I believe she thinks she needs. And honestly, I wish we could have made the public announcement jointly.”
Peter also shared what he thought went wrong in the relationship (you mean other than those rumors??) along with why he really did think their marriage would last:
“When we got married, divorce was never an option, at least not for me. I am not sure where our relationship went left for her, or perhaps it was never really there. I’ve always been here for Cynthia, even though she is fiercely independent. I want her to be happy. I want her to win, and I am happy she has seemingly found peace. “
“Reality TV can be a blessing and a curse, as it provides tremendous opportunities, but it also puts one hell of a strain on a relationship, especially if the foundation is not solid.”
I’m far from surprised that their marriage ended. It seemed doomed from the start and Peter’s infidelity rumors coupled with a less than passionate connection made divorce seem inevitable.
