We pick up this week with Stephanie and her husband Travis discussing his BIG birthday plans and she revealed that she ALWAYS has to plan big for his birthday. Travis acted like a diva 5-year old about to have a Power Ranger party, and it’s clear he has NO problem with aging! Stephanie goes on and on about how stressful Travis’ birthday is every year and she is clearly nervous to plan this party; the man has high expectations!
Stephanie and Brandi plan to go tour possible venues for the party and Travis announces that his assistant Courtney will be joining them; if this guy doesn’t trust his wife enough to pick a birthday party location he’s in trouble! Stephanie decides on The Great Gatsby theme and the ladies agree it’s a great idea!
Travis asks if Stephanie will also be getting him a gift, and this man really wants his wife to spend his money! Then he divulges that what he REALLY wants for his birthday is for Stephanie to pop out of the cake! He mentioned this MANY times but Stephanie had no intentions of putting on a strip tease for the party, thank god!
Cary and Mark’s daughter Zuri also turned 3 this week and it turns out Mark isn’t just obsessed with women’s clothing, it’s little girls clothes too; I can’t with this guy! He wants to buy Zuri A LOT of presents and Cary gives him a limit, he really is her wife!
Later we meet Zuri and she is TOO cute! Her cake looked delicious and she was actually more concerned about playing with her friend than opening her presents, and after a few she “didn’t want anymore!” Mark must have a weird way with spoiling people because his wife and daughter are the only people I know who decline presents!
LeeAnne has lunch with Rich and is going on and on about a charity event she has coming up. She’ll be the keynote speaker for a group of women with HIV and she is really excited for the event. Tiffany and Stephanie are coming to support her and honestly Rich just seems relieved he doesn’t have to show up!
It’s the day of LeeAnne’s event and I will give it to her, she did amazing! We got to see a whole new side of LeeAnne and she was in her element. Her audience was really responsive and totally connected to her story; Stephanie was even moved to tears! LeeAnne opened up about being abandoned by her mother, and then molested; the softer, vulnerable LeeAnne finally came out!
Back to life at the birthday boy’s house where we learn that Stephanie is totally overwhelmed as the only female in her house, and this actually explains her potty mouth; sort of! Stephanie’s sons want their dad to have a “poo-poo cake,” and their dinner etiquette would give the RHOP ladies a heart attack!
Later, Stephanie confronts Travis about treating her like a child and it was nice to hear her speak up for herself. Stephanie accuses Travis of controlling her, and asks him to take a step back and let her handle things; this conversation was a long time coming!
After dinner Stephanie calls Brandi to tell her about the “poo-poo cake” (seriously), and also to warn her that she invited LeeAnne to Travis’ Birthday party. Brandi wasn’t upset, and in fact called LeeAnne to meet for lunch before the party to work on their issues; LeeAnne accepted the invitation but didn’t have high expectations!
Brandi and LeeAnne had the WORST sit-down in Housewives history and I almost fell asleep. Them “working on their issues” was not done in typical housewives fashion; there was no yelling, screaming, or table throwing of any kind! Brandi apologized and LeeAnne accepted, then the lunch went on as usual; their amazing looking lunch was the best part of this whole scene, talk about a Bravo bust!
Brandi and Stephanie go dress shopping for the party and while I LOVE Stephanie’s white-jeweled Gatsby themed dress, Brandi’s baby blue feather outfit looks like a cheap prom dress and I expected more! Of course they discuss the “sit down” with LeeAnne and Stephanie seems so relieved that World War 3 won’t occur at Travis’ party; can you imagine his wrath?
It’s the night of Travis’ party, FINALLY and everyone looks great, they really got into the theme! The party is also quite boring, and at this point even I was hoping Stephanie would jump out of the cake in a bikini!
The celebration continues when Brandi announces she is hosting a girls’ trip for her, Stephanie, and Cary’s birthdays! She drops the bomb that LeeAnne will be invited and The Mouth Of The South’s latest victim Cary is NOT happy, she is one of the guests of honor after all!
Finally the episode concludes in Travis and Stephanie’s bedroom where she pops out of a cake in a very revealing outfit; his night was finally complete! Let’s just hope if RHOD gets a season 2 they are not filming around his birthday next year, I don’t think we could handle any more!
Next week the ladies head to Austin to celebrate their birthdays and drama is bound to take over!
