The Real Housewives of New York City got right down to business in season 8 episode 2, and we learned that LuAnn De Lesseps and Bethenny Frankel view their friendship very differently. LuAnn was happy to tell her new roomie Sonja about her summer with Bethenny; while Bethenny was quick to trash LuAnn to her nemesis Carole, even going so far as to call her a “user.” LuAnn seemed to have a new positive way about her as she declared herself happy for Adam and Carole, and admitting she just wants to move forward. Carole found LuAnn’s vile social media posts about both her and Adam unforgivable and she is avoiding LuAnn at all costs. In this week’s Bravo Blog, LuAnn tells Carole to grow up and move on, she also defends Dorinda against Ramona’s inappropriate public treatment, and takes the time to stand up for her, and John’s relationship!
As I watched this episode and heard what some of the ladies had to say about me, it became apparent which girls are my true friends and which are not. With Bethenny, once she stops talking to you, she starts talking about you. She’s obviously been drinking the Carole Kool-Aid. Mae West said it best, “Ladies who play with fire must remember that smoke gets in their eyes.”
I’ve been having so much fun staying with Sonja while I look for an apartment. She’s a very positive person, and she’s been a good friend to me throughout the years. As I told Sonja, I’d love to meet Mr. Right and get remarried. I’m a hopeless romantic, and I’ve never stopped believing in true love. You will hear some of the ladies judge me for my active dating life, but at least I’m dating! Do you ever hear me judging the other girls about who they date? NO, because it’s none of my business. No one’s ever found love sitting at home…so single ladies, get out and get dating! Sonja is open to anything that will bring good vibes into her home and her life, so I say, “Smudge away.” Burning a little herb never hurt anyone.
I admire how Ramona has moved on from Mario. She’s made her apartment a Mario-free zone, took down the curtains and is letting the light shine on her home and her life. She went through a tough time last year no doubt but I must say, divorce suits her. Does she talk too much? Yes. Is she on the right track to happiness? I think so, but the way she treated Dorinda in front of the other ladies was deplorable. Dorinda handled the situation as best as she could while under attack. That’s not what friends do.
Why do the girls care who Dorinda dates? Like she says, she’s married, buried, she pays her own way, and she can do what she wants with whom she chooses. Go Dorinda! I love how she doesn’t let anyone bring her down. As you can see, while Bethenny and Carole are dissing me at the lingerie party, Dorinda and Jules didn’t join in the slander. Dorinda’s a great friend, and I’m glad she’s in my corner. Good for Jules for not being a hater. How did a bra fitting turn into brouhaha?
Carole can’t pass up the chance to judge me, and she has crawled so far up Bethenny’s anus that she can’t hear me saying that I wish her and Adam all the best. The reality is that I’m happy if they are happy. I’m busy with my own life, and I don’t spend time focusing on them. As for her making a Luann “pros and cons” list, grow up! At least I’m honest about who I am and what I do. I apologize when I’m wrong and move on. I’m not a person who dwells in the past. My best friends know that I say what I mean and I mean what I say.
I believe that it’s not about who is being real to your face but who is being real behind your back! I was genuinely looking forward to celebrating Bethenny’s birthday with her at her upcoming Hamptons ho-down, but if she doesn’t invite me, so what? It’s not my style to invite myself to parties. With friends like these, who needs a new bra?
Until next week, God bless.
Thoughts on Luann’s blog? Do you like LuAnn so far this season? Did you think Bethenny and Carole were acting like mean girls when they were talking about her at lunch? Was Ramona out of line for telling Dorinda about John in front of the other ladies? Are you #TeamCarole or #TeamLuAnn? Thoughts on this week’s episode?
