Just because you’re rich and educated doesn’t mean you’re immune from getting caught up in scams. It seems that Real Housewives of Orange County stars Heather, and Terry Dubrow are the victims in a scam that cost them $2 million.
During a recent episode of her podcast, Heather Durbrow’s World, Heather reveals that she and hubby Terry were scammed out of $2 million by a women named Jennifer Lindsay Bell.
Heather reveals,“This was an accounting scam.“Right now, it’s just about Jennifer Lindsey Bell. Trying to get someone from another country and finding out where people are is a very interesting proposition.”
The Dubrow’s are offering up a $25,o00 reward for any information that leads to the arrest of Jennifer, who they believe has fled the country. In fact, the couple is so desperate to locate Jennifer, and their money I’m sure, they have enlisted the help of bounty hunter Lil’ Zeke Unger.
Heather says, “He’s helped thousands of people and captured many, many, many people, so we’re really hoping that he is going to help us. His information that he gave us today is absolutely invaluable.”
As for the scam, Heather says the couple thought they were making a good investment and that it’s only right to speak out about it publicly to prevent the same scam from happening again.
“We felt we were making a calculated, risk-free investment and it turned out not to be so. And really, it comes down to a matter of trust. Who do you trust? Who can you trust? And, you know, you think you have people you’ve known for years and years, and it turns out they’re not who you think they are. We’re putting this story out there, not just to tell everyone, ‘Hey, we lost almost $2 million. But, you know, we feel responsibility. We found out later that these people that scammed us have scammed other people for millions and millions of dollars, and if Terry and I don’t come out and go public with this, they will do it again.”
Are you surprised the Dubrow’s were scammed?
