Some marriages are strong enough to survive reality TV and others just don’t have what it takes. Unfortunately, Yolanda and David Foster’s marriage wasn’t able to last, and the news of their surprising split sent shock waves through the Real Housewives community.
Heather Dubrow, a good friend and fellow Housewife of Yolanda’s recently spoke out after the Foster’s divorce announcement saying, “Incredibly sad. Very, very sad. We met them before any of us were on reality television through some mutual friends, and they were always a lovely couple.”
According to Heather, Yolanda’s main focus is her children especially her teenage son. “Yolanda is a very good mother, and I am sure she is doing what is best to lessen the impact on her family. She has a young son at home, and that is her priority right now. I’m sure the timing of the announcement had something to do with her children, especially her son [16-year-old Anwar Hadid], who’s still at home with her, and protecting them. You know, I just wish them both the best.”
While Heather doesn’t know the reason behind the split, she does support Yolanda 100% and says that reality TV and being in the public eye can be extremely hard on a marriage. “Whatever it is, I do not blame her. Whatever Yolanda’s thought process was, I know that must have weighed heavily into it, and I respect that.”
“Let’s be honest, marriage is difficult, in general. Marriage in the public eye is crazy … You have to deal with tabloids and all that sort of thing, but marriage on reality television? Having it out there and having people talk about you in that way is so upsetting. And then you have children? It’s hard. It’s very hard.”
Do you think life in the public eye and reality TV could have played a part in Yolanda and David’s divorce?
