Who knew that the Dubrow family was so festive?? Heather recently posted a photo of her family by their Christmas tree in their matching pj’s. The Dubrow family, who is Jewish, was questioned about celebrating the Christmas holiday.
Heather spoke with Bravo about her family’s modern take on holiday traditions:
“We did that pic on our iPhones when we were decorating our Christmas tree. What I think is funny is that everyone says, ‘You’re Jewish. Why do you have that?’ I celebrate everything. Life is about celebrating with your family”.
Fair enough! We know plenty of Jewish families that still have a Christmas tree and exchange presents on the 25th. Heather then went on to explain that it’s not the only winter celebration that they have:
“Our rabbi said being a good Jew is having traditions — holidays, time together. Also, being a good Jew is being a good member of your family with tradition — whether it’s Hanukkah, Christmas, Easter, Passover, Kwanzaa — we do them all. Anything that gives us family time; we want to expose that to our children.”
Maybe next season Bravo can capture her family Kwanzaa celebration?
Heather then explained the Snoopy PJ theme that her family rocked in a recent Instagram post:
“Every year I pick something random — this year was specific: we picked Charles M. Schulz because of our EVINE [skincare] line. He’s from Minnesota [where EVINE is based] and I thought Snoopy pajamas would be the perfect thing”. It was actually our nine-year-old daughter’s idea, because I took my daughters with me. My Katarina said, ‘Let’s do Snoopy. He’s from Minnesota.’ I said, ‘That’s a fabulous idea!'”
Thoughts on the Dubrow family’s holiday celebrations?
