Lisa Vanderpump had a lot to say during the season six premiere of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and her comments weren’t always nice. Lisa was overly critical of Yolanda Foster and bashed everything from her illness to her looks during the episode. In her Bravo blog this week Lisa defends her critiques and questions in regards to Yolanda’s health and also reveals her thoughts on seeing Yolanda’s emotional breakdown. See what Lisa had to say below!
“Well, here we are on the precipice once more–that being Season 6. So I welcome you all back into the rather extraordinary world of RHOBH. We lift the curtain onto the reality stage and find Rosia and I peeking out of the window at the rather gorgeous specimen, aka AJ Ellis. As often happens in this peculiar environment, I pinch myself and endeavor to collect my thoughts as a real-life Dodger walks up the path and into Villa Rosa. Many times I have questioned my sanity of choosing this life which is so public, then moments like these, forever documented, justify my reasoning. When would a moment like this ever have come and presented itself before? I have been an avid supporter of the LGBT community, and this was their annual event, so as a great compliment they asked me if I would do the honor of opening the game.I was dubious as to how this would play out. I had been sent videos of disastrous first pitches and wondered, how wrong could this go?! AJ was a kind, funny man. I remember him saying even if he broke every bone in his body…he would catch it… Loved him. Well as you saw, I managed to get the thing onto the plate in a straight line and into his glove. That was the best we could hope for. Mission accomplished.
Kyle and I met for lunch at Villa Blanca, we had a brief conversation regarding Yolanda, the season had just started, I was curious if she would be involved and to what extent as she battled with her health problems. I explained to Kyle I had reached out a few times, and the timing had never been right, or as Kyle joked, maybe she didn’t want to see me. When you are feeling compromised, sometimes all you want to do is hunker down. I know for sure, hypothetically, I would be tempted to withdraw from everything public, and as I explained we haven’t been that close, but I had visited her and was sorry to see her at dinner still obviously in a debilitated state.
I think it was confusing seeing her dealing with this illness, how it ebbed and flowed, the social media pictures…and as the season plays out, we discuss that, as you do when you are all immersed in a group. Saying that, her existence has been pretty depressing. It saddened me to see her cry, but she is a strong woman with a lot of supporters who hope for her health to be back to its optimum, me included.
Well, thank you for joining us once again as you follow this precarious path we have chosen. You will shortly be introduced to two new cast members, and the dynamic will shift once again.
Each season varies greatly. Stay with us throughout. Sending love to you all as we enjoy moments of levity in a world that at the moment is in a place of utter turmoil…
Will see you next week. As always …Love, Lisa.”
Thoughts on Lisa’s blog? Did Lisa cross the line in her criticism of Yolanda? Does Lisa need to put her issues with Yolanda behind her and be a good friend?
