Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Cynthia Bailey has gone through one hell of a year after her husband Peter Thomas was caught in a very compromising video leading many to believe he was cheating on the reality star. In a new interview, Cynthia opens up about her marriage and about that now infamous video of Peter.
Cynthia says that living through Peter’s video scandal was difficult especially because she had to live through it twice.“I had to live through the video twice. In my real life privately, and when the show aired publicly. I assumed everyone has already seen it because it was everywhere. To my surprise, most people knew nothing about it until they saw it on the show. It was like peeling a scab off a sore. I had to deal with the pain all over again.”
As for forgiving Peter, Cynthia says she knew she needed to give it another shot, which she revealed to Peter in the past week’s RHOA episode. “I was moved by our conversation. It was honest, and it was real. My heart told me to give it one more try. Not to give up.”
Cynthia also claims that fans don’t know the real Peter and mostly only see he tough side on the show. “The viewers have mostly seen the tougher side of Peter. He is a straight shooter and is very direct. I can see how he can come off kinda hard on TV. I know a much softer side. People rarely get to see him be vulnerable, much less cry.”
The couple is continuing to work on their marriage, for now, despite family and friends urging Cynthia to divorce Peter. “We are in a better place than we were three months ago. We have been together for eight years and married for 5. Regardless, of everything we have been through, we still love each other. We are trying to work it out. God willing, we will. My friends and family support me, and my choices. Everyone has an opinion, but only you know what’s right for you. I appreciate them. However, I can’t live my life for everyone else. I have to live it for myself.”
Do you think Cynthia should have forgiven Peter? Will Cynthia and Peter’s marriage last?
