Several veteran Real Housewives of New York tried to play hardball with Bravo to increase their salaries for season eight, but it seems their tactics may have backfired.
According to Page Six, Sonja Morgan, LuAnn de Lesseps, and Ramona Singer all tried to play hardball during salary negations for season eight but now Bravo is calling their bluff and reducing them all to a “pay for play” system.
“They tried to power play Bravo,” a source reveals. “They tried to hold out for more money, and the network said, ‘Guess what? We’re not even going to give you a contract.’?”
The three ladies, who wanted to be paid a salary closer to Bethenny Frankel’s $1 million dollar salary will now only be used when they are needed.
“If they are necessary, and it works in the context of their scene,” LuAnn, Sonja, and Ramona will be brought in to film.
While we won’t be getting LuAnn, Sonja, and Ramona full-time during season eight, them being part-time, pay-for-scene Housewives may work in their favors.
Each of them stands to make around $20,000 a scene, and sources say “They actually can make more money on [this] rate. They don’t have to work six days a week, and they don’t have to go to events or go on vacations.”
Ha! I don’t believe for one second Sonja, Ramona, or LuAnn will enjoy being part-time Housewives. They are all camera whores who love the attention and spotlight. They will all be working their butts off to re-gain their full-time Housewife statuses.
Are your surprised Bravo called LuAnn, Sonja, and Ramona’s bluff? Do the ladies deserve Bethenny type salaries?
