Many Teresa Giudice critics, including RHONJ’s Jim Marchese, have questioned why Bravo would ever give a felon a spinoff reality show. Now Andy Cohen is defending Teresa Checks In saying why wouldn’t Bravo give the Giudice’s a spinoff when it’s what people want to see.
On Twitter, a fan reached out to Andy asking,“Why is there a series of shows about the Giudices? She’s a criminal. She knew what she was doing. Why screen time for them?”
Andy shot back saying, “We have been following this family’s life for seven years. It’s a continuation of that. People are interested in them.”
The same fan then questioned why Bravo would want to “glamorize what they did.”
According to Andy, Bravo isn’t glamorizing the Giudice’s crimes but is simply putting their story out there.
Andy tweeted, “The show is produced without editorialize tho so you can make your own judgment.”
Just this past week RHONJ star Jim Marchese also criticized Bravo for filming the Teresa Checks In special saying, “Bravo’s decision to air “Teresa Checks in” under the RHONJ franchise denigrates the show and hurts all associated. The original show was tongue & cheek fun, a guilty pleasure, and now it is morphing into a dark endorsement of criminal behavior and exploitation of children.”
Thoughts on Andy’s tweets? Is Bravo glamorizing criminal behavior?
