Bethenny Frankel’s motto for season seven of the Real Housewives of New York said a lot about her current situation in life. The “I’m not a Housewife, but I am real” mogul has been going through some difficult times during her never-ending divorce from ex-Jason Hoppy. During the RHONY reunion, Andy Cohen poked Bethenny for answers about her on-going and dramatic divorce. Bethenny got very real confessing how “excruciating” her divorce has been.
Bethenny admits that people may think they know what it’s like but they have no idea. “There’s no way for people to realize what’s really going on. I really never expected it to be like this. I’ve had a pretty colorful past that hasn’t been the easiest, and this is, by far, the most excruciating thing I’ve ever even come close to being in.”
This season fans saw a very raw and emotional side of Bethenny which her cast mates attribute to the stress from her divorce. Bethenny’s RHONY co-star Carole Radziwill gave her support at the reunion saying, “I’ve witnessed what Bethenny goes through in terms of this custody, child care thing. And if it was me, I would not be able to handle it as well as you handle it. I understand what some of the crying is.”
Original RHONY cast mates Ramona Singer and Countess LuAnn de Lesseps who were there from the beginning of Frankel and Hoppy’s relationship chimed in to support Bethenny. Ramona noted that so much happened at the beginning of Bethenny and Jason’s marriage including “the book, the baby, the show.”
Bethenny fought back saying, “I don’t think that would’ve changed a lot of things that happened. That we could not ever ever discuss… There’s a lot of stuff that’s insane.”
To wrap things up, Bethenny concluded that fame was the reason her marriage failed. “When you bring someone into fame, and they’re left without it… I think some people come in, and they see the shiny objects, and they grab at the shiny objects. And [if] it’s taken away? They want it to be taken away from you also.”
Do you fame is the reason Bethenny and Jason’s marriage failed? Or is Ramona right and the couple has too much happen in beginning of their marriage? Do you think that Bethenny and Jason will finalize their divorce anytime soon?
