Vicki Gunvalson: ‘I Owe Shannon An Apology’

Vicki Gunvalson was put through the ringer on Monday’s Real Housewives of Orange County. After Meghan King Edmonds consulted with a psychic, it raised doubt on whether or not Brooks Ayers actually has cancer. Vicki is explaining everything she felt from the episode in her Bravo blog.

Vicki first addressed her confusion as to why a psychic is being trusted when it comes to an issue involving cancer.

“It’s interesting that Tamra’s ‘psychic’ and his accusation that Brooks doesn’t have cancer is being taken as the truth. Don’t we wish that was the case, but unfortunately it isn’t,” Vicki wrote.

She also made sure to state that she does not think this storyline should be used as entertainment.

“Remember when you watch the rest of this season, I’m often put in situations where I’m surrounded by people looking to create drama. I don’t think this is funny or entertaining when we are talking about someone’s health,” Vicki explained. “As you all know, Leanne (Jim’s first wife) passed away a few weeks ago and I had hoped she would beat her illness and unfortunately she did not. I’m still wondering in real life situations, would anyone really question someone’s diagnosis that was made by a licensed DOCTOR? I doubt it, but it makes for good TV doesn’t it?”

Vicki then addressed all of the questions the ladies asked Brooks about his cancer. These questions gave Vicki the wrong idea.

Vicki continued, “We didn’t really know at the time why everyone was asking so many questions, and now it all makes sense after watching this episode. We thought the ladies really cared about him, hindsight it was not the case at all.”

When Vicki heard wind from Shannon Beador of what the psychic had said, she got very angry. She now thinks she handled it the wrong way.

“I owe Shannon an apology, and am sorry for reacting the way I did,” Vicki explained. “I just wish she would have informed me about this psychic issue privately before or afterwards and not while we were filming dinner. I don’t think EVERYTHING needs to be filmed and I wish things were handled differently by both of us.”

Vicki ended her blog by commenting on her relationship with Brooks which recently ended this week. She thanked her fans for supporting her and asked them to respect the two of them.

“I ask that you be kind to us and not to judge either one of us,” Vicki concluded. “We are both experiencing a lot of pain right now, and ask for you to lift us up in prayer for strength during this difficult time.”

Thoughts on what Vicki had to say in her blog? Do you think she was wrong with how she treated Shannon?
