Whenever the Real Housewives of Orange County get together, you can count on a lot of fun and a whole lot of gossip and drama. This week’s episode of RHOC was full of gossip and drama as the ladies had couples game night and headed off for a tropical getaway to French Polynesia. Lizzie Rovsek took to her Bravo blog to dish on game night, botox, broken ribs, and the trip to Tahiti. See what Lizzie had to say below!
“I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. I can’t believe that it’s almost August. I’m heading back to California today. I had such a wonderful time being home in Kentucky with family and friends. My little boys absolutely love the country. Horses, tractors, four wheelers, lightning bugs, frogs, creeks, woods, and lakes; it’s a little boy’s paradise. I’m gearing up for the 2016 Sun Kitten Swimwear campaign. I am so excited about the new collection! I’m also shipping suits off this week for Miss Teen USA. Sun Kitten is the official swimwear sponsor of Miss Teen USA (as well as Miss USA). The competition takes place in August in the Bahamas.
I want to share my condolences to the Edmonds family on LeAnn’s passing. My heart breaks for Hayley and Lauren. They lost their mother way too soon. God has blessed them with a wonderful stepmother in Meghan and a very loving father. I continue to pray for comfort for the entire family. I know LeAnn’s spirit will continue to be celebrated, she was very loved.
It’s game night at Meghan’s house! Meghan hosted a really fun little game night. I had a great time with the girls. I will be honest, I was a little apprehensive about going to a ‘game night’ with this group. We all know what happened last year. I went optimistic and was hopeful that the games were all on the ‘up and up!’ What a pleasant surprise, a fun, drama-free game night!
When Meghan announced to us that she was getting botox, what did she think the reaction would be? I would say that most women I know start thinking about getting Botox around their early 30s. I didn’t think it was a big deal at all. If I were Meghan, I would take Shannon’s reaction as a compliment. She didn’t think she needed it and couldn’t see a single wrinkle on her face. But seriously, what type of reaction was she looking for?
Meghan has been very open about her living situation with her husband, Jim. First let me say, I have seen them together, and I think they are a great couple, and I really like Jim. The Edmonds’ situation is unique, and it’s hard to imagine that it would ever be easy. For the most part, Meghan seems to make the best of it, but I know at times it’s hard. Meghan’s my friend and when she tells me she hasn’t seen her hubby in weeks, doesn’t know when he’s coming home, etc. I feel for her. I will admit, I really don’t know what to say or have the best advice for her. Different strokes for different folks?
Preparing for our trip to Tahiti was a little crazy for me. I was still healing from my broken rib. It’s a 6 to 8-week full recovery when you break a rib! I couldn’t drive my car for almost a month, had a heck of a time chasing around my 3 & 4-year-olds, and I couldn’t workout like I normally do. I was leaving for a vacation of fun in the sun and couldn’t even work out before the trip! Bikini what?
Many of you have asked me how I broke my rib…it was a total accident. I was giving my boys their nightly bath. I had just taken them out and was running back into the bathroom to grab a brush when I slipped on the wet floor and went (what I like to call) airborne. We have this spa tub that extends out in the middle of our master with this wall around it. My back came crashing down on it, and I actually heard a ‘crunch.’ It was awful and the most excruciating pain of my life. First time ever breaking a bone. I was doing a million things at once, and I remember thinking that morning that I better slow down, or God was going to give me a reason to slow down. I ended up in the ER that night. Trust the timing of your life…
We are off to Tahiti!! I was so ready to have a great trip with all the ladies. Last year’s trip to Bali was awful. It was the most uncomfortable trip of my life, and everyone came home upset. I think I stand for all the women, we were all ready to have some fun!
You haven’t really had the chance to see my personal story this season. Christian and I had been going back and forth on baby number three. We had been teetering back and forth on when to start trying. Historically, when we have tried or haven’t been careful, I have gotten pregnant immediately. I guess you can say I’m pretty fertile. Anyway, we started trying (or decided to be careless in the birth control department and leave it up to God.) I am pretty in tune with my body, and I knew with both of my boys immediately when I was pregnant. I should have known better that I wasn’t going to get away with drinking water on this trip, but wasn’t for sure if I was pregnant or not and before I left it was too soon to tell with an OTC pregnancy test. I guess I will find out on this trip if I am!
I was not ‘judging’ Meghan on her situation with Shannon. However, it doesn’t take a genius to observe that she picks on Shannon. I was curious to know if they made amends after the JDRF party. Meghan and Shannon are both my friends. I stand up for my friends; that’s just what I do. No, I don’t think Meghan has been particularly nice or fair to Shannon. But I guess it doesn’t matter what I think. Meghan doesn’t care or feel bad in the least which I find a little perplexing. Why would you not care that you hurt someone’s feelings?
Remember that big bag I had at LAX? Well, that big suitcase of mine didn’t make it with us to Tahiti. I didn’t have luggage for almost two days. Thank goodness I decided to pack those little white shorts in my carry-on or I would have to wear the same outfit for our first day in Tahiti that I wore on the airplane. I always find it disconcerting how someone can lose luggage on a direct flight? Anyhow, I am in paradise, and I’m going to rock this dirty tank top and my booty shorts and hope my luggage arrives soon!
Do I think Vicki was hard on Meghan? Yes, I do think she was a little hard on her. Typically, Vicki gives the new girls a hard time. Vicki was not particularly nice or welcoming to me last year when I joined the group. I think Vicki likes to test out the new girls and see how strong they are. Nevertheless, I think Vicki (like most of us) are trying to figure out Meghan and get to know her better. Vicki, like everyone in this group, has a right to her opinion. I’m not too worried about Meghan either; she’s a pretty tough cookie.”
Do you think Meghan and Jim’s living situation will help or hurt their marriage? Should the ladies have been more supportive of Meghan getting Botox? Do you think Meghan has been mean to Shannon? Is Vicki is giving Meghan a hard time? What drama do you think will happen in Tahiti?
