The repercussions of Kim Richards infamous drunken arrest back in April is finally coming to light. The reality star who had a court date set for June 11 has officially been charged by the Los Angeles County District Attorney.
Kim was charged with three misdemeanors including public intoxication, resisting arrest, and battery on a police officer to which she pled not guilty. Richards could face a maximum sentence of two years and six months in jail if convicted of these charges.
Additionally Kim was banned from returning to the Beverly Hills Hotel where her arrest took place.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star who is currently in rehab was not at her court hearing on June 11 but was ordered to appear for her next hearing on July 16.
Other sources claim that hours before Kim’s hearing she moved rehabs and checked herself into a two-year inpatient rehab treatment.“Kim entered inpatient treatment late Wednesday night. It’s a program that last up to two years!”
It seems that Kim’s latest move may be an attempt to try and salvage her relationship with the authorities, the court system, and Bravo.“Her bosses were aware she was entering a long-term treatment program that allows her to work because she desperately wants to save the relationship with the network now.”
I don’t think Kim will be going to jail, but you never know. I think if Kim completes rehab, joins a program, and does some community service she may walk away from these charges. The only charge that could get her into hot water is the battery on a police officer. Hopefully all of these charges are a wake up call for Kim and will help her get and stay sober.
Are you surprised at Kim’s charges? Do you think she will spend any time in jail? Do you think Kim moved rehab? Will the charges finally make Kim take her sobriety seriously?
