On the last season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, viewers saw Porsha Williams begin a new career venture: hosting Ricky Smiley’s entertainment news program Dish Nation. Has she been an asset to the show or has she hurt it?
Eurweb has reported that Porsha has been a huge help to the show! The ratings have increased significantly since Porsha joined the cast.
“Since she joined, the show’s ratings are up 20 percent more than last year,” Eurweb reported. “The show’s overall rating is 0.6. The show has a 40-percent increase in the 25 to 54 demographic.”
Porsha has also raised the show’s rank in terms of its genre as well. Dish Nation is now in sixth place when it comes to news magazine programs — right behind Entertainment Tonight, Inside Edition, TMZ, Access Hollywood and Extra.
It is good that Porsha has caused so much success for Dish Nation since she was demoted to a friend of the Housewives this season rather than a full time cast member, like she was for the previous two seasons.
Porsha’s status on RHOA season eight is still unknown. Sources say that the only three women to have been asked back as full time cast members are NeNe Leakes, Kandi Burruss, and Kenya Moore. However, sources also say that the cast is expected to feature more allies for NeNe, and since she and Porsha are good friends, Porsha could be considered to stay on the show as one of those allies.
