Vicki Gunvalson’s live in boyfriend Brook Ayers has spent the last six months battling Stage 3 Non- Hodgkin lymphoma which is a form o f cancer. While his illness may have fixed issues in his personal life including his relationship with his on-again, off-again girlfriend Vicki Gunvalson it seems that his cancer isn’t getting cured as easily. New reports say that Brooks’ cancer isn’t responding well to the chemotherapy.
“When the test results came back, the numbers haven’t changed substantially,” he said. “They haven’t gotten worse, but they haven’t gotten better. That was kind of disheartening, to be honest with you.”
Brooks now has three options to help combat his cancer which include more aggressive chemo, a stem cell transplant or a holistic approach. Turns out Vicki’s co-star and friend Shannon Beador is urging Brooks to lean toward a holistic approach to fighting his cancer.
“Shannon Beador’s been very much in our corner and putting us in contact with a lot of unbelievable world-renowned holistic physicians based here in Irvine (California),” Brooks says. “We’re exploring that and with that would come no chemo. It would be addressing and taking what I’ve been doing with the holistic diet and an infrared sauna.”
While Brooks seems to open to any form of treatment he’s very aware “there are no guarantees.”
Hopefully, Brooks can find a treatment that works for him. I’m sure that Vicki will move heaven and earth to get Brooks the best treatment around. It seems that Brooks’ cancer may be a huge story line for him and Vicki this season.
Do you think Brooks should be taking Shannon’s advice when treating his cancer?
