This past Sunday, Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel had a one-on-one with Andy Cohen at his club house. During the one-on-one Bethenny confessed that at a point she was embarrassed to be associated with the Real Housewives of New York City. Andy asked Bethenny about this during the sit-down saying, “You may have thought about yourself that you were kind of too big for the show two years ago.”
Bethenny then admitted that she was not always proud of her association with the show. The same show that helped her launch her career and Skinnygirl empire that also gave her the opportunity to have spin-off shows as well as her own Talk Show that was cancelled after one season. Bethenny explained, “There was a point when I was a little embarrassed to be a Housewife. I felt like it was a little something to not be proud of. There was a time when I was in it that it felt kind of not what I started out as, and that’s why I walked away. Now coming back, I feel I’m proud to do it again and I feel like it is a different show.”
Interesting for Bethenny to admit. I think it’s good that she will be back on the show but I don’t feel like it’s a different show like she says. It’s the same drama just different people.
Bethenny also opened up about her failed talk show. Bethenny told Andy,
“It was an amazing opportunity. There were so many great people that worked there. I dont think it was a failure. I didn’t enjoy being talk show host, I don’t think it’s what I should be doing and I don’t think if you don’t love what you do, you’re not going to be good at it. And I just didn’t feel good. I felt like I couldn’t breathe and that was also because of what was going on with me personally. Everyone wants a talk show and everybody thinks it is so easy and particularly housewives all want a talk show and it’s not easy.”
Perhaps Bethenny is only saying that because the talk show failed after one season. But I can see why being a talk show host can be a lot of pressure. Are you excited for Bethenny’s return? Thoughts on Bethenny’s one-on-one with Andy?
