Andy Cohen has been the host of Watch What Happens Live for 11 seasons on Bravo. Being a familiar face to watch on television, Andy will soon have a familiar voice as he will be expanding his career onto radio.
Deadline has recently reported that Andy will be getting a branded channel on SiriusXM satellite radio which he will executive produce. The name of the channel will be called Radio Andy, and is described as a “24/7 entertainment channel that he will personally curate.”
Andy tells the online magazine, “This will be the radio extension of my love for pop culture – everything high and low. [The channel will feature] mainly talk from a curated group of celebrities and pop culture fanatics that I love and admire, with some music.”
Andy continues, “It will be an up to the minute rant about what I’m obsessed with in pop culture featuring long form interviews with actors, singers, writers, reality stars and beyond; if I’m interested, I’ll have them on. Personally, I’ve been looking for an outlet where I can do more long-form interviews, and SiriusXM is the perfect home for my brand of uncensored, deep and shallow talk.”
Andy then praises the King of All Media saying, “I view Watch What Happens Live as the closest TV equivalent to his [Howard Stern] radio show in that I treat Housewives with the same importance as Oprah or Meryl Streep and we weave seamlessly back and forth between high and low. I have no expectations that Howard will have anything to do with Radio Andy, but I am excited to work under the same roof as the King!”
Watch What Happens Live is the equivalent to Howard Stern’s radio show??!! Fine!!
Are you excited for Radio Andy??
