Bethenny Frankel will reportedly head back to court soon to deal with the 2011 lawsuit filed again her Skinnygirl brand. The lawsuit claims that Bethenny’s Skinnygirl liquor which is touted as “all natural” contained preservatives. RadarOnline is sharing the details of the case.
Looks like Bethenny had the option to settle the class action lawsuit back in July but refused to do so.
“The parties are not engaged in any settlement discussions,” court documents state. “Plaintiff believes that settlement discussions would be beneficial and productive. Defendants do not believe settlement discussions would be productive.”
Turns out the Judge recently ruled during a status conference that “Plaintiff’s counsel may re-depose Ms. Frankel. Discovery deadline remains as set.”
The two women suing Bethenny are Maureen Stewart and Kelly Lamicella.
Regardless of what happens with the lawsuit Bethenny wants the judge to keep the court documents private “because they would reveal her confidential public relations strategy.”
“A small collection of email communications and documents attached to those emails” are “confidential business strategy communications” that include “discussions of public relations strategy with Bethenny Frankel, draft public relations statements, and discussions of possible alternative product formulations and ingredients.”
I think this whole lawsuit is laughable. How many people drink Skinnygirl and only two are suing over preservatives? Really? it seems like these women are just looking for a paycheck. Hopefully Bethenny and her millions laugh all the way to the bank and don’t have to payout a dime.
What do you think of this lawsuit? Let’s discuss!
