Looks like Teresa Giudice isn’t the only RHONJ star dealing with a court case. Jacqueline and Chris Laurita could be heading to trial over claims that they misused millions of dollars from their former clothing company.
Jacqueline and Chris are accused of stealing millions from their failing company Signature Apparel to fund their lavish lifestyle.
The couple filed bankruptcy protection in 2009 but this didn’t stop the couple from being charged with knowingly defrauding their creditors. The trustees of the case served the couple with a $7.8 million lawsuit in order to get back any money they could.
According to Radar Online the trial is tentatively set for November 2014 where the couple have agreed to pay a total sum of one million dollars. Jacqueline and Chris will need to fork over $100,000.00 immediately if the judge approves the agreement then they will begin making paying of $112,500 through September 2016.
It’s strange that we heard all about Teresa Giudice’s court case but this case has never been discussed. Not that I think either case needed to be talked about on the show but what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. In season 6 Jacqueline talked about selling her home in Franklin Lakes and downsizing, maybe this court case has something to do with that decision. The couple is going to have to put out a pretty penny to pay off this debt so it makes sense to sell their home for financial reasons.
What do you think about Jacqueline and Chris heading to court? Do you think Jacqueline and Chris really siphoned millions from their company to fund their lifestyle?
