Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice recently requested that she be sent to a halfway home for her 15-month sentencing so that she would be able to work and visit home on the weekends. Judge Salas denied the request and it looks like Teresa Giudice will officially be headed to a prison camp in Danbury, Connecticut for her sentencing.
Judge Salas believes that if Teresa Giudice wanted this, she could have suggested it at her October 2nd sentencing but regarding Judge Salas wouldn’t have recommended Teresa to do so. Salas tolc NJ, “The issue was never raised and it was never before court.”
Teresa’s attorney, Stacy Ann Biancamano said that Teresa would have made the request if she knew she could explaining, “She really wasn’t fully understanding of how the sentencing process works.”
The Bureau of Prisons will be the ones who decide whether Teresa gets to spend some of her prison time in a half way house. Salas says, “The Bureau of Prisons will handle their affairs as they see fit.”
Teresa will have to begin her sentence January 15th. Teresa got the news Wednesday that she would be serving her time at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, CT. The popular show ‘Orange is the New Black’ is featured at that same exact prison. The prison is said to be one of the worst prisons in the U.S. Do you think Teresa being at that prison is fair?
