Andy Cohen sat down with RHONJ’s Teresa and Joe Giudice in the first interview the pair gave after learning they will both serve time behind bars. Last week, Andy, who has known the Giudices throughout their five-year tenure on the show, told Entertainment Tonight that the separation will be difficult for the couple, who have been together since high school.
“They are going to be apart for a long time. I think they’ve got a really strong bond, but it’s just so hard. For both of them, family comes first, and they’re family. They’ve been together for years.”
Although being apart will certainly be difficult for Teresa and Joe, it’s clear that their main concern is their four daughters, who won’t have two parents living under the same roof for the next four and a half years. Teresa hasn’t commented too much on Joe’s fate, but Joe has taken opportunities to apologize to his wife for any wrongdoing.
“I want to apologize that I got you into this mess. I don’t even know what else to say. If I could take it all back, I would but I just can’t and I’m sorry you have to go through all this. I tried everything I could to convince the judge not [to convict you] but I have no control over that,” Joe said during his interview with Cohen.
Teresa accepted his sentiments, telling him, “I love you…you just have to be there for our daughters.”
Ugh. It’s nice to see Andy support Teresa and Joe’s marriage, but I’m not sure if he’s hinting that they won’t make it through this. Do you think Teresa and Joe’s relationship can survive this difficult time?
