Looks like Melissa and Joe Gorga will have to wait a little bit longer to get their Montville mansion back!
Melissa and Joe have been trying to evict their tenant Kai Patterson after he missed four months’ worth of rent. Last month we reported that a judge allowed Kai to remain at the residence for 17 additional days. Now, a judge ruled that Kai can stay at the house until this Thursday as he pursues his motion to reconsider his default on the lease, according to The Star-Ledger.
Kai’s attorney is arguing that the case should be dismissed because Kai’s company is listed as the tenant on the lease, but the Gorgas filed the lawsuit against Kai personally. Kai has also claimed that the Gorgas failed to make much needed repairs on the home.
This whole lawsuit sounds like a mess and it seems like both sides were in the wrong. Do you think Melissa and Joe have handled this situation the right way?
