It was shocking when we heard that Real Housewives of Orange County star Lydia McLaughlin decided to quit the hit show after only one season and after being secured a spot for the next season. Many wondered if it was because Alexis, her friend was not asked to return but Lydia reveals she wasn’t into the fame!
Lydia tells Dolce Mag
“I spoke to the producers and told them I’m not a typical housewife; I’m not dramatic, but they said that they liked that, and they wanted me to just be me. So I took it as a chance to be a different voice, a role model, maybe. I really did do the show because I wanted to be a positive influence, but if I’d returned for another season, it would have been because I like the red carpets, the fame, the glamour and those aren’t the reasons why I did it in the first place. I didn’t want to see my values being compromised.”
I’m really sad Lydia decided to leave because I truly enjoyed her on the show but I respect her even more after she proves that none of the fame is important to her. Are you surprised Lydia left the show because she wasn’t into all the glamour?
