Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes formed a friendship with Marlo Hampton on season 4 of the show, leading to Marlo even being in NeNe’s wedding earlier this year, but things have since changed.
While Marlo is currently appearing on I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding, RHOA’s sixth season has been filming and Marlo has clashed with NeNe! It’s been reported that Marlo and Kenya have been buddying up behind NeNe’s back and filming. NeNe became upset by the opportunistic vibe and slammed Marlo on Twitter, claiming she will never be a Real Housewife!
Marlo is now responding and she tells Radar Online about NeNe’s prior claims that she was too “extra”. Marlo says, “There’s nothing normal about me — I love being extra and I own it. That’s part of Marlo. Me being normal, you wouldn’t see me every week being on the show and I’m sure she wouldn’t have asked me to be in her wedding if I wasn’t extra.”
As for never being a Real Housewife, Marlo admits, “I have no husband, so I can’t even be a full-time housewife.” Umm, false. How many single women have appeared on this show?!
Marlo, however, still refers to herself as a RHOA cast member. She reveals that producers love her, and why wouldn’t they? “It just would be friend of the housewives, [but] I always just say a cast member because I’m on it,” Marlo explains of her status. “I’m being called to tape… so I would definitely say I’m a cast member with Bravo.”
