This week on Real Housewives of Miami, Alexia Echevarria was stuck between going to Lea Black’s gala and her friends (who are not getting along with Lea) trying to force her not to attend!
In her Bravo blog, Alexia reveals that she was standing her ground and was going to go to the gala. She says she truly did not go because she was sick, and believes Lea knows that. She refused to get involved in the petty drama of “choosing” sides, but what did piss her off was Lisa Hochstein’s comment!
What I’m also very tired about is Lisa talking about the Cubans. What kind of ignorant comment is that? Miami, like many cities in the U.S., was built by hard working immigrants like my parents, who had to flee their country because of political persecution and lack of freedom. Seriously Lisa, Lea vs. the Cubans? I’m appalled and disgusted. I’m sure Lea was as shocked as me. Where is this coming from? I’m thinking it’s you that has the problem with the Cubans. And Lisa calls herself the peacemaker? I CAN’T!
Lisa’s comment about the Cubans was not said with malice, clearly. It’s true, they ARE “the Cubans” of the group plus Adriana who is Brazilian. I don’t believe she said it to be evil, and honestly, if someone called her “the Canadian” I don’t think Lisa would care either. Plus, Lisa’s mother is Jamaican, so clearly she’s also from a Caribbean island. I think Alexia blew that one out of proportion a little bit.
Thoughts on Alexia’s blog? Do you think she skipped the gala because she was sick? I mean, she didn’t have a problem going to gay polo! What’s a gala, indoors, not in the rain, all for charity?
