Aviva Drescher fans rejoice! The phobia-prone New Yorker is officially on board for season six of Real Housewives of New York City, which will begin filming on May 6.
Many doubts about Aviva’s return arose when she was left in the dark about her season six status (even as she rented a new townhouse that allowed filming!). She has been signed at the last minute, but what was the hold up?
The NY Daily News reports that Aviva was left hanging by Bravo over salary negotiations, not because they were debating whether to ask her back or not. Because last season she famously feuded with season one veteran Ramona, Bravo feared that both ladies would team up, if they were hired at the same time, and request more money given their pending storyline.
“Bravo deliberately staggered her contract until the last minute. Last season, Aviva and Ramona were the stars, and Bravo was scared if they invited them back at the same time they could team up and ask for a lot more money,” reports the NY Daily News.
Ramona reportedly asked for a higher salary to return for season six, and Aviva is allegedly making $100K for her second season on the show. The insider adds, “The difference in what they earn makes them fight even more.”
Aviva has also been approached by Boston hospitals to support and help out bombing victims who lost limbs. To find out Aviva’s involvement in that, visit NYDailyNews.com! She tells the web site that she will not film this because her help won’t be given for praise or camera time.
