Being on the highly rated Mob Wives has obviously brought attention to Renee Graziano and her father Anthony “TG” Graziano, who is part of the Bonanno family. Last season we saw Renee go through a rough patch when her ex-husband Junior ratted her father TG out to the government and got him taken back into custody!
A new report by the New York Post is reporting that TG has been “put on the shelf” by his mob family, allegedly due to the talk of all their dealings and legal issues on the reality TV show! A source shares that TG “has been stripped of all his mobster rights and responsibilities.”
A law enforcement official familiar with mob life explains, “It means ‘pay him no mind. He has no mob responsibilities, and he can’t earn. They don’t know if he’s cooperating. They’re not ‘unmaking’ him, but it means he’s not active.”
Another federal prosecutor added, “It’s totally devastating to these guys. It’s such a blow that some of them have even testified that that’s the reason that they have decided to cooperate [with law enforcement]. It means people aren’t supposed to deal with you at all.”
The Graziano sisters released a statement and said, “My father has never ‘allowed’ me to do anything as it pertains to the show. He was completely unaware of its existence at first. In fact, he wasn’t speaking to me and we were estranged for quite some time over it. The show is about the women’s lives and not the men. I definitely don’t understand why anyone would feel that there is constant focus on TG. Out of 33 episodes so far there were maybe 3 where Renee discusses him and her relationship with him. We can’t help that she is her father’s daughter – again that’s a part of HER life and HER identity.”
Are mobsters involved from jail? I enjoy Mob Wives but I have always been confused about the openness with which the lifestyle is discussed on camera for the world (including law enforcers) to see! What are your thoughts on this situation? Let’s discuss.
