MISI: How’s it going Melissa? Thanks for taking the time to interview with us; it’s definitely a pleasure.
MG: Good thank you!
MISI: Tell our viewers a little bit about Melissa Gorga for those who don’t know who you are.
MG: I am one of the cast members of Real Housewives of NJ, I released my first single “On Display” back in August and I have 3 beautiful children and the most amazing husband!
MISI: Now you have a very successful single out right now called “On Display” what was the creative process in creating a song like that?
MG: On Display is not just about me joining a reality TV show and watching whats going on in my life. I feel like the words and lyrics can be very relateable to an average person in their day to day life. Whether your starting a new job, starting at a new school, there are so many reasons people feel like they are on display and being judged.
MISI: Did you expect your single “On Display” to be so successful right away?
MG: I didn’t have expectations when I released it, I had put my heart and soul into it and wanted it to do well. I was so happy that it did as well as it did. I cant wait to release the rest of my songs too! If you love On Display, you will really love my others.
MISI: Can we expect a upcoming video for “On Display” in the near future?
MG: I don’t think so but definitely for my new song that is coming out!
MISI: How has being on the RHONJ helped catapult your music career?
MG: RHONJ gave me a broader audience to release my music too and I am so thankful for the opportunity. Its been a great stepping stone for my music.
MISI: I don’t believe this statement in any way based on your emotional connection between your father and your music. However, how do you respond to your sister in law blogging that you only got on RHONJ to help your music career?
MG: My decision as well as my husbands decision to be a part of RHONJ was not just for my music career. We made a decision together for plenty of reasons and opportunities just like everyone else on the cast has.
MISI: How much of a role has your husband Joe Gorga played in your success?
MG: Joe is such a great role model to me because he is such a go getter himself. Between the two of us, we never stop. If I am successful so is he and vice versa.
MISI: How do you balance being a mother, wife, and artist all at the same time?
MG: Its my greatest challenge and day by day I manage what I need to. I am a wife and mommy first before anything but whatever I want in my life I will challenge myself to manage it all.
MISI: If your father were here today what would you say to him?
MG: I would just tell him to hug and hold my 3 beautiful children.
MISI: If I were to turn on your iPod right now, what 3 artists would I find in your most recently played list?
MG: Pitbull, Rihanna and Britney Spears
MISI: Whom in the music industry would you like to do a feature with in the future?
MG: I would love to work with Pitbull. Every time he collaborates with someone it explodes. He is very talented.
MISI: What kind of advice would you give a person trying to pursue a music career?
MG: Don’t ever give up on your dreams and its never too late to make them all come true. Right when your about to give up it happens. Good luck
