I still don’t agree with how Joe talks to Teresa. I know people say it’s because he’s “old school Italian”, but it’s disrespectful to me. Teresa obviously doesn’t mind, though. As the saying goes, if you like it, I love it. Whatever floats your boat, etc.
Listen, no one has ever said it was good or right, it is who he is. They can be coarse and rough around the edges. We don’t have to like it. WE are not privy to all their conversations, just this one because Bravo loves to show us Joe Giudice’s best side. As offensive as it may be, equally offensive are comments and behaviors of the other husbands. If you listened the first thing she told him was that it made her cry and he starts in right after. He is right he doesn’t want to hear anymore about how her brother making her cry. He has seen her grovel to them and she keeps getting kicked in the teeth.

My point is we know it is disrespectful, and we don’t know that Teresa “doesn’t mind”. Just because she holds her tongue in the clip we see does not mean she hasn’t called him on it in private.
I hate that every time Joe opens his mouth in an unfiltered negative way it needs to be pointed out when all the husbands are equally disrespectful. Now I don’t follow your posts so I don’t know what you have or haven’t said about the other husbands!

Umm, Italian is not a race it’s an ethnicity. Juicy has always been this way(at least since hs),it’s just the way he is. He also doesn’t give 2 poops who makes fun of him either. Juicy is the only real one on the show. What you see is what you get. Teresa let’s him get away with his behavior and always has. She is afraid of him leaving her,so he does exactly what he wants,when he wants. Things have changed a bit because T’s the breadwinner,but the fear of him leaving is still there.

Thank you, Acacia. Just as the dialect changes from region to region, so too does tradition and culture in Italy. I happen to come from “Old School” Italians — by way of Calabria and Naples. My family is very much like the families on RHNJ and with each generation, we changed. Education and assimilation into mainstream America has a way of bringing about change. I had grandparents and uncles like Joe Giudice. No, I don’t condone the behavior and yes, I think it’s “Old School”. I can say that in my own family experiences,, there was a lot of machismo but also a lot of love between the parties. What doesn’t work for me works for someone else. So, meh.

How any celebrity would want to go on WWHL and partake in andy’s bash-a-thon is beyond me.
I think had they done this the 1st or 2nd season, we would have all laughed because friends sometimes make fun of each other for fun. But with all the attacks at the Giudices and the dark tone of this season, this seems mean & like another attack.

I have to agree with you. My husband has spoken to me in the same harsh manner a time or two, after I told him I hated him talking to me like that he said, “I hate seeing you hurt.” I’m not excusing his behavior, but imagine how hurt he’s seen his wife since all this crap began. Keep in mind that he’s had a front row seat since day one, longer than Melissa, Ritchie, the Manzo’s, Laurita’s and probably a better view than Kathy. I like Joe and he is the one that has remained unfazed by reality tv, he’s not doing talking head interviews, not is he on WWHL, Wendy Williams, or any of the other crap. I hate the way he said it, but I agree with what he said. He doesn’t want his wife hurt anymore and he realizes who’s hurting her. Her brother has no intention of letting go of the bone in his teeth and being at odds with his sister is what is going to keep him on this show because is it certainly NOT his personality or that of his wife’s. Joe Giudice understands that they are not going to play nice so he is telling his wife No, and he said yes to her a lot. I agree with him about dealing with the children but not the adults.

I feel the same way; he is looking out for his wife and trying to keep her from the people who are out to destroy her. He’s frustrated that she keeps trying to fix something that in his mind can not be fixed. His language to her is tough to hear but the anger is directed at her brother, not her. I think back to his “happy wife, happy life” times and realize that this is just Juicy under extreme stress. I find Joe Gorga’s constant talk about how he’s so hot for his wife, how much poison he has, how became her father, etc. much more disturbing.

As I would love to see Tre get a show of her own, it wouldn’t happen for a while. Because even if she did sign a contract for just this season, she still woldn’t be able to be on another network with her own show for another 3 to 5 years, I think. I’d like to point out the numerous ways that your post is dependant upon faulty logic:
Premise/Statement: People who comment on this site are in denial, like Teresa, because we don’t agree that the way that Juicy Joe talked to Teresa in this clip was wrong and/or verbal abuse.
First, not everyone on this site thinks that the way Joe talked to Teresa was appropriate. In fact, most of us do not think that the way Joe talked to Teresa was right at all. But, by the same token, most commenters on this site would say that they understand where Joe is coming from; he is frustrated and angry. It says a lot about the depth of Teresa and Joe’s friendship within their marriage that Joe feels comfortable expressing himself entirely to his wife and that his wife doesn’t feel emotionally threatened or endangered. She clearly can see that he is coming from a place of frustration and anger and isn’t taking the way that he is talking to her personally. She is letting him express himself entirely while he is upset. By doing this, Teresa is not denying that his language and/or “controlling” directives are inappropriate, she is simply acknowledging that he gets upset when she brings up her brother and not taking his attitude personally. In a moment of cooler head expression, Joe might apologize to Teresa for taking out his frustration on her, but this could easily have been missed by the Bravo camera crew or simply left on the editing room floor. My opinion is that Teresa understands how her husband communicates when he is frustrated and her reaction to him is to be compassionate and understanding but not necessarily pleased with his language. In their husband-wife relationship, she takes him for who he is and although that can occasionally include some terrible decisions on his part, that also includes his indulgence of her desire to be on a reality tv show, his cooking and caring for their daughters when she is working, and his efforts to give her everything she wants.
Premise/Statement: If Teresa had used her right to freedom of speech to continue bringing up to her husband that she wants to keep facilitating her and her brother fixing their relationship, then Juicy Joe would have slapped Teresa and the people who comment on this site would make excuses for that behavior.
First, the scope of a person’s right to freedom of speech is technically regarding the topic of politics and/or political issues: The freedom of speech is the political right to communicate one’s opinions and ideas via speech. Another point to make is that Teresa’s freedom of expression would include her right to stop talking altogether. Some people communicate their dissent through silence – I know my grandmother certainly does – and that is no less a form of expression and communication. You also dare to presume that the commenters of this site would have been anything short of appalled had the Bravo camera shown Joe physically hitting Teresa. I hope that I can speak for everyone here and say that no one on this site would be okay with Joe hitting Teresa for any reason. What we see is that Joe and Teresa are human and if their method of communicating works for them, then who are we to judge or tell her that it is wrong.
Premise/Statement: Teresa acts oblivious to her husband’s verbal abuse just like she did to her financial issues and to how her comments in her cookbook would affect Caroline.
Your assumption that because Teresa chooses everyday to respect the vows she made on her wedding day by remaining married to Joe despite their struggles and his bad choices then she is oblivious to what is really going on is baseless and, frankly, one of the reasons the divorce rate in this country is at least 50%. There is nothing about her decision to give all trust in her husband to take care of their finances that merits her being deemed as “oblivious.” Many marriages function with one person being in control of the earning and the other in control of the spending. I would say that Teresa may have trusted her husband with their finances in the past, but since the bankruptcy has become very involved in both the earning and spending sides of things. That is a significant change in their marriage dynamic but it doesn’t imply that Teresa was acting oblivious to their finances before, nor does it imply Teresa is stupid (which you implied in your post). The next bit about comparing this entire situation of Joe’s way of talking to Teresa to the infamous “cookbook” mishap is way off topic and hardly worth mentioning. I will anyway though because, while you are correct in saying that Teresa was oblivious to how Caroline would take the comments in the cookbook, your implication that Caroline had any right to be offended by the comments in the cookbook are misguided. RHONJ and especially the Manzos got a reputation early on for being joksters. Caroline did say in the past that Teresa was her source of comic relief (S1 Ep1, in fact), thereby setting up the reputation for Teresa and her family to joke around with Caroline and her family. Teresa’s cookbook comments continue with that as their basis. Caroline is the one who flipped the switch and changed her mind about Teresa being funny at some point in time for some reason that we all still don’t understand or have any knowledge of. Teresa, and most fans of this show, are quite oblivious to why Caroline would react the way she did to mild and generic jokes in a reality tv personality’s cookbook. If you choose to equate that with Teresa and most fans being oblivious of some supposed verbal abuse, then I think you need to re-examine the holes in your theories.

I am sure you would have been able to justify to the judge/jury why it was ok for him to try to illegally obtain a drivers licence under his brothers name and kept him out of prison. This particular article and your first post are about Joe and Teresa’s conversation in the car as shown in the video above. There was no need for you to bring up Joe’s past indiscretions in such a way as to simultaneously insult my personal value system and insinuate that I would ever lie in a court of law in my hypothetical legal representation of Joe Giudice. If you don’t like Joe, that’s fine; that’s your opinion. I was pointing out where your initial conclusions were missing certain logical premises. I apologize for offending you by doing this. I did not intend to offend you nor did I expect for you to respond by insulting me and my morals.
I agree that some things are wrong and some things are right, but I also believe that our legal system functions on the main conclusion that all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Neither media outlets, reality television viewers, Andy Cohen, Caroline Manzo, free kroy, nor me can be considered a court of law, so I am inclined to wait and see what the courts have to say. If anyone feels that our judicial system needs to be based on a different main conclusion, then I suggest you write to your congressman.
On a side note, I think it is fairly obvious that Joe’s legal team is doing a pretty good job without me, seeing as he has yet to serve more than ten days in jail for all the shenanigans that he has pulled.

Joe’s (and Teresa’s) legal problems aside, Teresa had to grow up hearing her father talk the same way to her mom and watched him treat her mom much the same as Joe treats her. So, what is outrageous to you is familiar and common to her. I admire and respect the hell out of Teresa, but I think she’d be exhausting to be around and I’m sure Joe knows how to shut her down. Helen Wheels, I believe Joe Gu’s licence was suspended for Drunk Driving. Not to get so heavy on a “blog” but, this is a very serious issue and the punishment was light. There are so many innocent drivers that are KILLED by drunk drivers that I can not accept the justification of these ignorant acts. Yes, we make mistakes…I’ve gotten a ticket for texting while driving. I WAS ABSOLUTLY WRONG. There is no justification for ignorance. I accepted the consequences and learned a leason. We can not make light of drinking and driving, illegalling driving, speeding, ect. Our lives and our children lives are at stake. STOP MAKING EXCUSES. Wrong is Wrong. Allegedly, Tre opened a bottle of wine/champagne and it sprayed on other vacationers. These people (fellow Americans) said or did something to Tre, then Joe Giudice, Albie, Greggie, Christopher, and I think Chris Laurita defended Tre and it ended in a brawl. They were all arrested, and the charges were dropped in Punta Cana, and I think they all had to sign a Bravo gag order, but as soon as these people got back to the States they filed a Lawsuit against all of them.
So, Caro is trying to blame Tre for her grown son’s behaviors.
We all know that she treats them like they are ten years old, but they are Adults and as such they are responsible for their own behavior. No one put a shotgun to their heads and told them to fight.

Teresa and Joe have been together since they were very young. They will tend to speak to each other more like friends. This is normal. He speaks to her like a buddy. I don’t see it as disrespectful really. He is sick of her brother and that is the bottom line. I don’t blame him. Jerseygirl – I was just saying on another article that I wish someone would start a blog/site dedicated JUST to posting copies of notes ppl TRIED to post on BRAVO. It would be interesting to compare the audience’s real feelings with the spin/narrative BRAVO tries to spoonfeed the public.
Katherine D – don’t despair, BRAVO manipulates the narrative by only posting only or mostly favorable comments about whomever they’re supporting at the time and right now it’s “Everyone except Teresa.”. I can’t count how many times I’ve read ppl saying they TRIED to post a not-so-favorable comment about Caroline/Mel etc and it never showed up, even after several tries. I JUST tried to post something to the effect of ” Wonder why everywhere else on the internet, the comments about Caroline are 75% negative, but on BRAVO it’s opposite.”. Let’s see if it gets posted. I’m betting NO. Caroline’s comment section seems the most fictional to me. She gets tons of positive comments. And not just positive, but like ” You’re the BESTEST lady ever Caroline!”. First, I doubt all of them are real, and by “real” I mean posted by actual viewers and not Caroline’s extended family ( the ones that still talk to her ). But I also think if BRAVO posts say 200 comments about Caroline’s blog and 150 of them are favorable, you can bet the real total number is something like 800 comments with the overwhelming majority of them being negative.

The Giudices are normal (then again define normal) – they were minding their own business being on RHONJ – went through a public bankruptcy – which they are working every hard to overcome (still I dont see where the not normal lies) – Teresa and Joe have 4 beautiful daughters that are full of life – God bless them – Joe Giudice is a potty mouth – big deal – sue the guy – I think hes hilarious and spot on most of the times – I kinda have to agree with him with the Horsy face

What the Manzoloids, Jerk-Off Joe Gorga and the astoundingly disappointing Chris Laurita were doing was despicably cowardly and has nothing to do with ‘ball-busting.’ That Bravo would air this and title it what they did is the only thing that is not surprising in Andy Cohen’s ammoral queendom.
What you saw/heard was a couple of candy-ass cowards talking shit, not “busting Joe Giudice’s balls.” Ball busting REQUIRES that the ‘busters’ and the ‘bustee’ be in the same room. It’s a male ritual-thing that has been ever thus. I am the oldest sister of seven brothers and have always had more male friends than female so I can assure you, I know of whence I speak.
What we saw/heard here was a couple of candy-asses and a two-faced traitor talking shit about someone who had considered them all friends. Not only was it base and just something real men do not do, it was embarrassingly cowardly (if Joe Guidice had walked into the room, not a one of those wussies would have had the hair on their ass to keep going). If this was ‘genuine’ ball-busting it would have been done to his face. Otherwise it was just immature, juvenile ‘smack-talk’ that I heretofore would have thought Chris Laurita incapable of. I can’t get over the number of you that think that clip is by any means okay. That is NOT an example of a loving husband OR a strong man. Joe’s behavior is DISGUSTING!! Teresa is hurting so deeply over the rift with her brother and Joe Guidice has done NOTHING to improve the situation or support her for that matter! Teresa works her ASS off to support their family. I think she works MORE than 24 hours a day! I don’t know how she does it all even with help from her parents. You don’t show love by shutting up a person when they are hurting. Here is Teresa on the outs with Jacqueline, Caroline, her brother and Melissa PLUS working day and night. The one person that should be there for her to cry on their shoulder is Joe Guidice. But NO! He just screams at her and tells her how she should feel. I feel so bad for Teresa in this clip because after all she has done for this man and standing beside him through all of the embarrassment and struggles she can’t even express herself without being told to SHUT UP! Again, that’s not LOVE!

That’s ALL assumption. That there’s a better side to Joe Guidice. What we have seen is that for whatever reason, Teresa has chosen to stand by him. That doesn’t necessarily mean there is a sweeter, kinder, gentler Joe off camera. What we have seen is a Joe Guidice that shuts his wife down when she needs to vent or cry on his shoulder. What we have seen is the hurt in her face when he does this. What we have seen is that she deserves much respect for how hard she has fought to keep her family going. I am not going to assume that this doesn’t happen when the Bravo cameras are not rolling. It is possible to support Teresa without supporting how her husband treats her!
