Teresa Giudice Responds To Claims That She Called Her Niece Ugly; Says Melissa Is A Liar!
RHONJ star Melissa Gorga has been appearing on the latest covers of US weekly bashing her sister-in-law Teresa Giudice. In the latest cover, Melissa claims that Teresa called her niece Antonia ugly and normally Teresa doesn’t respond to Melissa’s accusations but says she couldn’t believe Melissa would lie about this! Teresa writes,
“There were another million crazy hurtful untrue stories about me this week and I ignore them all, but one I can’t ignore. Again, Melissa is using our children in public, telling lies about them, to try and hurt me. Please Melissa, say whatever you want about me, but leave innocent children out of this!
I’m not even talking about her ridiculous claim that she’s leaving her “dream house” because she doesn’t want her kids to go to school with my kids. Our kids are all in school now and they don’t go to the same school already. She can stay in her dream house. We all know that’s not the issue…
But while I can protect my own kids from her lies and keep telling them that their uncle and aunt love them, I don’t have any access to my own niece and nephews anymore. Someday Antonia will be old enough to make her own decisions and hopefully I’ll have a relationship with her and her brothers then, but I have to answer the INSANE LIE that I ever, ever said anything mean about Antonia. Someday when Antonia is able to Google her own name, she’ll find the evil story her mother told to a magazine about me calling her “ugly” (I can only pray Melissa’s words were taken out of context by the magazine and I hope Melissa sets the record straight with Antonia privately, even though she didn’t publicly) but I want Antonia to also see my response: it’s absolutely NOT TRUE. I adore you Antonia, and I adore Gino and Joey. You are my blood. You are Gorgas. You are beautiful inside and out! Zia Teresa will always, ALWAYS love you and always be here for you with open arms. My children love you as well. They always treated you like their own sister growing up since you didn’t have any. I hope one day you’ll be able to hang out again.
And Antonia, don’t ever, ever let anyone tell you you are anything but BEAUTIFUL! Know how I know? Know how everyone knows this horrible story about me calling you “ugly” isn’t true? Because you look just like me when I was a kid! To be honest, you look almost more like me than my own daughters. You are like a daughter to me and will always be in my heart. I love you Antonia! xx”
Teresa makes a great point. I think it’s sad that Melissa would get the children involved and would put out a story like this that Antonia will one day be able to see..what do you think Melissa’s purpose of putting this out there was? Do you think Antonia looks like her aunt Teresa?

I don’t believe Melissa’s story, at all. I do not believe Teresa would say anything negative about her niece.
And people are so going to call her narcissistic for saying Antonia looks like her as a kid. I can already see it.

My nephew was born w/ down syndrome and he’s beautiful regardless. Have some class. That was such a rotten thing to say & foul because you were using the appearance of a disease these kids & parents have no control over to put down Teresa. She looks nothing like them anyways. Thank you for the warning and not just blocking me. I apologize for the Down Syndrome comment, but I was using it as a physical description (I honestly believe the Gorga’s eyes “droop”) I didn’t mean offense to people with Down Syndrome.
Aside from that, look back at my comments and see how many of the “Teresa FANS” attacked me first. True enough, I attacked back, but 9 times of out 10 THEY started it.
What exactly are the guidelines for this website? I am more than happy to follow them, but I think everyone else (INCLUDING TERESA FANS) should be held accountable for following them.

Roxie I really appreciate that. I try to advocate for my nephew and his condition and its hard to see people make statements like those. I admire and respect your morals and the way you refuse to compromise them! And everyone who just showed outrage on behalf of people affected w/ DS thank you from me and my family! While I agree with you that Tre is delusional and in know way was she ever as pretty as Antonia, there is still plenty of room for her to be narcissistic and she certainly is. I don’t think they should get the children involved in any way. Melissa shouldn’t have said Antonias aunt called her ugly and she shouldn’t have said they are moving to get a way from Tre and the girls. ITA with the reasons Mel and Joe would want to move away from the Giudices and why she wouldn’t want Antonia to go to the same schools as her cousins. Multitudes of Tre followers are vicious with their verbal attacks on Melissa. Tre continually talks bad about Melissa to her daughters,which is evident by the way the girls speak negatively about Mel. Mel said she is worried about how this will negatively affect Antonia especially when she gets to middle school. I’m not saying that Melissa fans don’t speak horribly about Tre and her daughters because they definitely do. Melissa is called a whore,slut golddigger,coke head just to name a few, her husband has been called a rapist, crack head etc. If they can move from the area and put their children in schools farther away from the spotlight, vicious rumors and attacks then good for them. I absolutely was not referring to the comment about down syndrome at all, or any negative comments about children. I was laughing at the ‘Tre isn’t narcissistic she is delusional, not pretty now or when she was younger’, although I disagree about her stating Tre wasn’t narcissistic because indeed she is! I’ve read other stories and comments from JPG and IMHO she is funny. In my above comment I stated I didn’t think Mel should have gotten the children involved. I have read comments from Tre followers that do involve the Gorga children and as always it is thoroughly disgusting, the children should be off limits totally.
Do you think maybe Teresa’s comment about Antonia being beautiful because she looks like her perhaps DIDN’T come from a place of narcissism? I think what Teresa was trying to say was that she knows Antonia is not ugly because she DOES resemble Teresa and if she were ugly (as Melissa claims Teresa said) that would mean that Teresa is saying that she herself is ugly, too. So why would Teresa say that about Antonia if Antonia looks like her (which she does)?
I think THAT was the point Teresa was trying to make.
Teresa does not strike me as being a narcissist. She simply does not display the characteristics necessary to be labeled as such. However, Melissa could be straight out of the DSM-IV chapter on Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Her behaviors and words fit the diagnostic criteria so perfectly it’s as if she were the case study on which it was structured.
For example, it was Melissa who said THIS in season 3:
“I can’t lie. Antonia is definitely a little mini me. She loves the spotlight. She’s absolutely gorgeous. And she’s got moves, this little girl. You know, she gets it from her mama.”
THAT is narcissism. A mother is entitled to think that about her child but to substantiate it by saying she gets it from her mother? That is a clear symptom of NPD: inflated ideas of ones own self-importance, talents, beauty, intelligence, etc. They also always have to be the best at everything, better than everyone else and constantly have praise and attention lavished on them.
She said this to Life & Style magazine in May 2011 (talking about what else? Teresa):
“She was used to being the biggest and the best, and then when I came in, she felt threatened.”
She also admitted that she needs to be the center of attention in her first Bravo blog:
“Teresa likes to be the center of attention. Be beneath her or get the hell out of her way. Well she has met her match!”
As far as the Gorgas selling their house, do you honestly believe that it is because they want to get away from Teresa? Because in reality, that reason is simply not plausible. If things are so bad between the Gorgas and Giudices that Melissa and Joe are now selling their “dream house” to escape, they would have a court order against Teresa. There would need to be more to back up the claim other than they are selling their house because Teresa is mean. After all, Melissa has claimed she was physically attacked by Teresa eight months after it allegedly happened. She can’t stop calling herself the “victim” of Teresa’s attacks. She’s been doing a press tour about it. If it’s so distressing that she must tell every media outlet and she must sell her home and uproot her children’s lives, why have the police not been called because that is SERIOUS.
Plus, things aren’t bad enough that they are willing to stop BEING ON A TV SHOW WITH HER. Moving might put distance between them. But they still have to appear on RHONJ together which means they still have to interact, comment about the episodes in their blogs, they will still be asked about each other in interviews. Lack of proximity will not mean that the Gorgas can escape the Giudices. If it is SO BAD and Melissa is worried about it affecting her children, SHE needs to do what is best for her kids and get off the show. If Teresa is so toxic, she needs to get her family away from her in EVERY way, not just by saying that she’s selling her house and it’s all Teresa’s fault. You said that Melissa is right to get her family away from “the spotlight”. The spotlight is not in Franklin Lakes/Montville/Towaco. The spotlight is wherever the cameras are and Melissa invites them right in her door.
I’d also like to hear a direct quote from Teresa where she is talking badly about Melissa or her brother to her daughters? The ONLY suggestion we saw that might hint at that was the one comment Gia made where she told Jacqueline that Melissa puts ideas in Joe’s head. We did not see Teresa saying that to her or even in front of her. Yes, it could have been something that Gia overheard. It also could have been something that Teresa was unaware that Gia heard. And it was ONE isolated comment.
Meanwhile, we have seen numerous instances of Melissa and Joe riding in the car with their kids and talking badly about Teresa and Juicy. In fact, EVERY time we see them in the car with their kids they are talking about Teresa and Joe.
And again, with the moving thing, if Teresa’s fans are the ones attacking then it will happen regardless of where Melissa lives. The idea that Melissa would need to sell her house to protect her kids from what Teresa’s FANS say is absurd. Teresa has actually – on several occasions – discouraged the attacks against her fellow cast members.
If Melissa had her daughter’s best interest at heart, she never would have used her as a way to try and make Teresa look bad. She never would have told US Weekly that Teresa allegedly called Antonia ugly. Whether it is true or not (it’s very doubtful that it’s true), why would Melissa want her daughter to be able to read that one day and know that it was her own mother who revealed this to the world? She would also never have used ALL of her children as a way to claim that Teresa is forcing her to move. Cut and dry, she is now weaving her children into her web of lies and that is despicable. Not something that a parent with a child’s best interest does.
I hear what you are saying Cara but I really thinkg people are reading way too much into things (on both sides of the fence). This is my belief, Teresa is coming from a place of family mindedness. They are related..she is her brothers daughter. She does resemble her. I see her as saying you are my blood, we even resemble each other a little because we are family. I would never call you “ugly”. She is apart of her and no one would ever refer to someone that is apart of them as ugly. That and only that is what I believe she meant. I sure she thinks her daughters are just as beautiful. Why would she have to grab Antonnia and say look she is beautiful which means she looks like me, when she has her own beautiful girls to associate her looks with. Why go get her niece, Melissa’s daughter at that to make a statement that she (Teresa) is beautiful.
Do you really believe that crock about moving because of the children may bully Antonia. Those children do even go to the same school now and mostly likely want go to the same school later.

I believe Melissa is realizing that the tides are turning against her which might explain her recent actions and allegations against Teresa. In no way, shape, or form do I believe Teresa would ever call Antonia ugly. However, let’s assume she did. What mother in their right mind would repeat something like that to a magazine that will show “Antonia is ugly” forever in print. I have to believe that a mother would want to protect their child from any sort of hurtful comment whether it was done by a friend, relative, sibling, or God himself.
If you look at this story objectively you have a mother telling the world someone thinks her daughter is ugly and then you have an aunt telling the world her niece is beautiful.
I just can’t help but question Melissa’s motives for making up that story. It’s as if the world believing her and feeling validated in her hatred for Teresa’s means more than protecting her daughter against hurtful statements (whether they are true or false).

As much as I pray this is not so I must say the science of the ego is against Melissa’s children. By 6 six yrs old your ID is fully developed, your sense of self. I have seen people comment on this blog that Antonia seems so quit and observational and how she knows that when mommy is doing her “thang” she knows mommy is happy. Happy is not her children’s needs being met, happy is mommy’s needs being met. Same for daddy who can’t even stop talking about nailing their mother or his raging hard-ons long enough to notice they are around (except when the cameras are there and they need a “isn’t he a good daddy” clip. This man is so self involved he became an animal in front of his children without any regard for anyone let alone them, not once but TWICE (the Christening and the pool party) if they were able to capture 2 incidents of his raging bull bit imagine how often that happens when the cameras aren’t there…Teresa has testified that we didn’t even witness the WORST of it… The science is against that beautiful little girl and those little boys. Narcissists tend to breed narcissists and these poor babies have 2 of them raising them. Antonia and Malania are so close because they see in each other what they are seeking, we all seek the yin to our yang. Antonia knows that when she is with Malania and, in turn, Zia Teresa, it is an environment that she can be free in and Malania, God bless her sweet free spirit! let’s herself be mellowed by Antonia.
If I were Teresa I would proceed with caution with these children. It sounds horrible and anti-family but it is a caution I highly recommend. I had cousins that my mother insisted I do not associate with and I thank God every day that she did so, they turned out just like Melissa.

nice post; the whole situation is really sad. Antonia is a gorgeous little girl but I find something sad about her. Granted, I only see what Bravo allows us to see, but it’s almost like she “knows her place”. In my family, the kids were always the “stars” of the show and the parents were the cheerleaders in the background. I don’t see that with this family. I remember a scene in S3 where Joe and Melissa were eating dinner at that huge dinner table all alone and the kids were at another table. Antonia came over to say Joey spilled his milk and they told her to go clean it up. I posted about it at another site and got beat up by some posters for it, but it bothered me. I don’t think this show is a good thing for this little girl. JMO.

Most people that follow and believe in Teresa see the good in her. We don’t think she is perfect but we see that she deeply loves her brother, her parents, her children, her niece and nephews. We see that she has the love and friendship of Juicy’s family and long term friends like Dina and Linda that are strong women in their own right and not jealous of what Teresa has accomplished.

Lookers is pure evil. She has told so many stories from I only worked at the strip club for a week, a few months, produced pay stubs for a year, I was a teacher before I got married, I was going to teach but Joey wanted me to run his business, to producing a degree when she was not even qualified to get a teachers license. It is blow my mind to keep up with all her stories. Lately it is that Teresa twisted her arm when she is quoted in articles and on tape that nothing physical happend between her and Teresa.

Wow! The Tre followers and their comments are genuinely as hypocritical as they can possibly be. I think that Tre and Melissa both suffer from narcissism on many levels. You’re trying to say that Tre is such a loving and caring mother as she drags her children into the middle of adult conversations and situations more often then not. I can’t count how many times I’ve heard Tre say ‘if Joe cheats on me the girls will hate him’, how does she know how the girls will feel if Joe cheats?? Because she has discussed this with them or at least Gia. In one episode Tre and Joe were having, yet another adult convo with Gia sitting in the backseat as Gia is shouting at her father ‘a girl really another girl’ and Joe tells her to shut up!! Joe and Tre talk pure trash about others around those girls, it is sad and pathetic. Can you imagine what those children have to face in school with all the madness on rhonj and I’m talking about Tres daughters and Mels children.
