They always do this. Make the teasers for the upcoming show look so shocking but then u watch and it’s totally a diff story. From what I saw it seemed Jac was reading Gia a story about sportsmanship??? Even if it was about something else Jac(who I don’t like that much) didn’t appear to be “going after” Gia or being abusive. I could tell she was mortified by T dressing her down. Idk about this one.

I was just going to say the same thing Gupto. I don’t know if I can watch anymore. Just the 50 second clip got my blood boiling. Now they’re going after Gia. Teresa has every right to go GANGSTA on them for that. It’s one thing to say to a kid ” Oh please don’t touch that vase” if the kid is in YOUR house touching a vase you don’t want her to touch. But sitting down with them to give them a moral/life lesson? Jacqueline is truly out of her f*cking mind. Who the hell does she think she is? And don’t forget, Jen the story told around “Lauren’s Big Business Opening” last season was ” Ashley f*cked up a t-shirt graphic. ” even though Lauren threw a tantrum and closed down the whole operation one day after it opened. Who’s the spoiled brat with no consideration for other ppl’s time, work and money here? There are at least TWO scenes with Lauren LECTURING Ashley about responsibility and respecting other ppl’s time and deadlines and Ashley just sat there are took it and then didn’t even rat Lauren out after she closed down the business the next day. No one would blame her if she did after the abuse she took so her mother and Lauren could have a storyline. The Manzo/Laurita ought to be THANKING Ashley for taking one for the team instead of embarrassing Caroline Junior for her extreme irresponsibility and bratty behavior. These ppl are jokes.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but petitions are a total waste of time when it comes to Bravo. All they care about is making money. They make money when ratings are high — which attracts huge advertising dollars. And because this season generated so much buzz, the ratings were very high.
An angry petition with a few thousand signatures will be mocked and deleted. That said — a viewer’s choice to watch or not is an individual decision that deserves respect.
I don’t understand your comment about respecting a viewer’s decision to watch the show or not. I have already said in a previous post that I admire those who have the patience and strength to watch the show. I have never criticized anyone for their choice to watch the show or not.
Weather or not a petition will do anything or not is irrelivant. I guess I’m like an old school hippy who feels that if I believe in something that I should try to do something about it instead of just sitting back, doing nothing, with no voice and hope that things should change on their own.
I also believe that sometimes people feel that their actions alone will not benefit anything, so they do nothing. When people realize that others are standing up then sometimes they will too. If enough people voice their opinions sometimes they will be heard. If enough people decide not to watch the show, then YES it absolutely can affect ratings.
I understand your activism and if it makes you feel better then that’s what matters. I suppose the point that was lost or that I failed to make was that it would totally suck if you and so many others spent energy on a petition — that would ultimately be ignored.
Either way — just by posting your feelings and observations here in a community of like-minded viewers — well I think that is super powerful.

It’s true, ask Kate Gosslien about her “haters” and how they kept her on air by watching each week so they could complain in a blog. Haters have to be watching to hate… Her PR told her this and she was stupid enough to repeat it , which resulted in all those haters tuning out.. she was cancelled swiftly.. The only way you can change RHONJ is to tune out.
I agree Say – I keep watching because I feel like I can’t accurately defend Teresa if I don’t. But a ratings slide is the ONLY thing that will get BRAVO to change.
However, I’m totally PRO Annah’s petition and I signed it and I hope lots of other ppl will too. MAYBE there’s a SLIM chance the PR nightmare will get big enough for BRAVO to at least tone down the bullying and/or for the Manzos and Gorgas to become complete pariahs. Although, I suspect that second part might happen all on its own.
EVERYONE needs to stop giving the ratings to Bravo.
@Annah, wait until the petition has a lot of signatures and then forward it to NBC Universal. Bravo will not care, but perhaps if we fill up NBC’s inbox they will act on it. It is worth a try. Everyone needs to voice their opinions to NBC Universal(Bravo’s parent company, in other words Bravo’s BOSS)

I’ve stopped watching on Sunday nights – they replay the damn thing so many times I can catch it all week. Someone posted that if watch the second rerun it doesn’t hit their ratings. So that’s what I’ve done. . You’ve all voiced what I’m sure others will feel next week – involving kids has to be the lowest of the lowest behavior. The camera angle and Teresa trying to shield Gia…. Heartbreaking.
You are so right Say What, if you want it off air, don’t watch. As long as their are viewers, there will be sponsors paying millions for ads and the show will go on.They are not going to cancel because viewers are blogging that they don’t like the shows after tuning in every week to be disgusted by the drama and then going to the internet (where more paid advertisemetns are posted) and commenting, complaining, supporting, ect. Actually, the more drama the show brings the more money everyone makes…including this blog (purchased a cute bag from Ivanka Trump site just the other day) .Without these crazy reality shows, a lot of blogs would be out of business, and a lot of reality stars would have to move out of their mansions, and fire their stylist, hair people, nannys, house keepers, drivers, ect. Wow, Drama is a big money making machine. Bravo, please, please, please make a Houswives Show in my town…..I have wonderful house but will rent an even bigger one…at least 8,000 sf for me, my hubby, 2 kids and a dog. I will even move my mom and sister in for more drama…when we get together, it is “on and popping”. I will even sell the rights for my children to be filmed as long as you pay them a per episode fee…I will also make sure they act a damn fool on TV so that the cycle can continue…..crazy drama, millions of disgusted viewers tuning in every week, multi-million dollar advertisers, blogers, internet advertisers,,,,,oh yeah and you will pay me close to a million dollars a year if I increase the drama every week. YES, PLEASE ME, PLEASE ME.. I will even ask my jelaous ass SISTER-IN-LAW, who we all hate, especially my mom, to bring her silly ass on the show to bash me. They won’t publish your post or acknowledge you or it of course, but they ought to know how tired many ppl are getting of their general exploitation and bullying of Teresa Giudice, and now, her kids. Think about it, camera operators stood there and filmed that; producers OK’d the filming of it, and then after made editing decisions surrounding it.

The story about Caro not attending her Nephew’s Funeral ( God bless Him ) has been out for a while now. What I would like to know is, how many of her 11 sibling’s get along with her.

What Teresa wrote were truths about how both women brought family matters onto the screen, whereas this is on Teresa’s parenting skills. When Ashley came home from the airport and Chris started insulting and making her seem useless jacoholic just stood there. Ashlee looked at her for help and she just stood there and let Chris talk shit. She has probably made it clear to Ashlee from a young age her new husband and family comes before her. It made me so mad. Be honest is Ashlee’s behavior really that surprising with the way her mom treats her?
Yep. I got that too. And it’s inconceivable to me as a mother that she would let not just her step father, but the whole gaggle of them stand around and make fun of and berate her daughter. I said upthread, the picture is coming into focus with this family. Back when they found Danielle’s ex, who wrote Cop Without a Badge, they were all taking pics with this man and having dinner trying to get the dirt on Danielle (they are really low ppl). It was Caro, Jac, and T with all of their husbands and albie (why albie was there boggles my mind, much less, why were any of them there?).
First of all, where does Jac get off reading any book to Gia like she is a loving Auntie when she does nothing but call out her mother constantly?? And, if indeed it was set up by Bravo for the show, how DARE they use this child to create more drama? Dina was right to take herself and Lexi out of this mess.
They are chummy with all the camera men and producers.. plus AC so no DOUBT they all knew what they were doing. It was set up to make Gia look bad and make Teresa look like a bad parent. I am so disgusted with all of them..and greg is back for this episode cant wait to hear what kind of nasty digs he takes at Teresa and Gia.. this should be great.. the bullying and take down of an 11 year old child by a group of ADULTS that are supposed to be FAMILY.

Yeah. I plan to go right out and buy Teresa’s latest cookbook. I DO think her books are polished and pretty good, but would I have purchased them if not for the rest of the cast attacking her? Actually, I, along with a lot of us, bought her cookbooks before the hoopla. I wanted to make Italian meals for my family and what better way to do so than to support T and her old school, traditional recipes. I like HER and didn’t mind helping her get out of some debt.
Btw, her recipes are really delicious! We make a ton of food out of the books on a regular basis.
I am not watching this show until it goes back to the fun like in season 1. Even Dina’s daughter tweeted that the gorga’s and walkie’s ruined the show. Caroline and Jaqueline need to GO!!!!

I would LOVE to know the exact nature of the issue between Caroline and DIna. I said somewhere else on here, although I’m sure there are specific events and betrayals, I suspect Dina is just far more emotionally healthy than the rest of that clan and realized she needed to distance herself to preserve her own sanity.

Caro won’t say a word about Dina. They’re still not talking. Dina left to avoid the drama but when she left she cut Caroline off. She cut all of them off except T. Maybe Dina knew Caro was turning into a monster and didn’t like it. Caro must have went nuts because Dina remained close to T. I think that is why Caro turned on T. She doesn’t give a crap about Mel and Kath, she joined them for her own reasons. Caroline is very possible with Dina. It had to kill her that Dina stopped talking to her. I wonder if we’ll ever know the truth?

About Dina…….She has her own show on HGTV. I can’t remember the name of it. It’s about party planning and etc. Dina was on Fox News last Saturday promoting the show, and how to give a Mother’s Day party without breaking the bank. New episodes start in June. Good for you Dina.
I believe that the show is called Dina’s Party, I watch it and wanted to let you all know, that Lexi is on some of the episodes working with her Mom.
I find it interesting that Dina brought Lexi on this show, but did not want her on NJ with Caro and the gang. Perhaps Caro treated Lexi the same way that she treats Ashlee and Dina will have none of it.

Sometimes when i read other blogs i wonder if the commentors are jac, melissa and caro plus their family because how can they watch the same show and think its ok to treat someone this way? But there are so many supportors that it cant be just family. I am seriously speechless that some people cant see what is going on.
I’ve noticed that too, Say What, but only on BRAVO – everywhere else on the internet it’s a different story. My theory is what makes it onto their boards is not even close the total number of comments ppl actually submit. So if Caroline has like say a total of 200 comments posted and 150 of them are positive, you can bet the real total number is like 800, the overwhelming majority of them negative. That’s conjecture on my part, but one thing that’s not is BRAVO seems to be the only place on the internet where 75% of the ppl appear to be PRO Caroline/Mel/Jac. How is that possible? Answer: it’s NOT. Think about it, it’s not at all far-fetched. We could all write 25 paragraphs worth of words about times when Andy Cohen and/or BRAVO producers have show blatant favoritism toward Caroline especially. Just think of the season 3 reunion, WWHL the other night when WW went off script and bashed Caroline and Andy’s reaction etc etc.. They have it in for Teresa – that seems like well-estabkished fact at this point. It’s not a big leap to suggest they might be manipulating and heavily editing their boards to prop the other ladies up.
I’ve had a couple comments posted this week. I said to Caroline, “Well, well, well, we finally agree on something. You ARE a bully.” It seems like you can be negative if you tone it down.
Well, like I said Mandy, SOME do get through. I’ve probably had like 2 of 30 make it onto the boards. If they didn’t let ANY negative comments about Caroline et al get posted, it would look too suspicious.
As I have said to you before, my feel g are changing……mainly due to the audacity of the other women!! Poor Teresa…..honestly, no one should be treated this way. It is such a dark place. Almost uncomfortable watching.

Sounds like you took a path similar to mine. I warmed up to Teresa last season when the bullying started and when I saw how she responded to their financial difficulties. She kept smiling and started working her ass off to pay their debts – I admire that. She is teaching her daughters an invaluable lesson.

By the way, none of them seem to have actually held down a job that wasn’t given to them by their family and only one has a college degree. Teresa can built something with this if she wants. I would like for her to come out with cook ware, drink ware, and small kitchen appliances, specially for small space such as dormatories and small apartments, or homes. Also Teresa needs to start doing VLOGS, video blogs at least once a week, she needs a YouTube Channel, when she can display her skills as a cook, and cook the recipes from her book.

I bought her first book as a show of support when the bullying began, I bought the second book because the first one was really good! Her recipes are simple to prepare, tasty and healthy.

Jacqueline seems so immature. In those confrontations with Ashlee, she came off more childish than her “troubled” daughter. Kids do act immature and emotional. Calling her out and embarassing her on national TV is so wrong. Patticakes – I just watched that cooking segment with KL and K and I came away with a completely different take on it. I thought Teresa did remarkably well. I am biased in FAVOR of her at this point, no doubt, but I’ve gotten used to her not being able to articulate herself very well – and that’s what I was expecting. But I think she really delivered. I think she came off as knowledgeable, fluid and confident.
Maybe you should re-read my post. The intention was to pay close attention to KLG and Hoda’s reaction…..and while I definitely respect your take on it….I stand by my own. IMO…Tre can hardly catch a break and it’s sad.

I agree…I thought she did well too. KL and Hoda rushed her a bit at the end, but I attribute that to time constraints. They both complimented her chicken numerous times. The best part was when KL asked if the other housewives liked her book, Teresa said well, you’d have to ask them. Then KL said, oh you know they’re jealous!!

Does anyone hold Treasa and Joe Gu responsible for allowing their kids to be filmed for a fee. They are getting paid to be reality TV personalities. And from what I have heard, Gia and Milania get paid more than any of the other kids on the show because they are so adorable and entertaining. Treasa’s lawyers negotiated their increases because Andy Cloves them and features them so much in is segments.
The children don’t get paid for being filmed. They have to be 18 and older to be paid. They film for a certain amount of hours and if the kids get paid, it’s a violation against child labor laws.
Nichole, it’s the other way around, if they don’t get paid it’s a violation. This applies to all child stars who are under 18. They have to get paid and their funds have to be set up in a fudiciary account so that the parents don’t take alll the moeny. They actually should get paid, if they are being filmed and on the show. They should get paid well especially if we tune in to watch them. But, if the parents don’t want anyone making comments about the kids, simple fix…don’t put them under contract.
Or if parents don’t want anyone talking about their kids, simple fix-expect adults to act like adults and like decent human beings. What kind of lunatic bullies kids?

Actually, child labor laws vary from state to state. For example, California’s Coogan Law adapted the trust agreement for kids’ earnings (CA says the kids own all of their earnings) while New Jersey didn’t duplicate that provision. In NJ, all earnings from child performers belong to head of household. None of this matters or applies to the NJ minors because Reality TV is a whole different creature; production, etc. are generally independents and not unionized, and while they’re still supposed to pull permits for kids under 16 in NJ, the state itself isn’t clear on whether or not Reality TV kids need them! Sirens Media didn’t pull permits for the NJ kids — and it’s not even clear that they needed to do so!
Bravo’s stance is that the kids are peripherals to their mothers — and that the show is really about the housewives. If the kids aren’t members of actor guilds, they have to rely on state law for protection — and when the state law isn’t clear…!! If the kids are compensated in any way, I’d think it’s negotiated through their mothers’ contracts because they’re not technically child actors/employees of Bravo or Sirens.

They’re not child actors. They don’t get paid. It’s already been said and there were articles about it. The kids compensation is added in to Teresa’s pay. If she gets paid 200,000 (just an example) per episode, that’s for her, her husband and her kids appearances.
The only ones who actually get a paycheck from Bravo are the Manzo kids and Ashlee.
Do you really think the reality children from Dance moms or Tot’s and whatever the show is are not compensated. lol. Of course, otherwise, their fame, money thirsty moms would not have them on the show. Do you think Kate Gosslin’s kids were compenstated for appearing on the Reality Show, yes of course. Now, yes the compensation may be included in the parents contracts but, none the less, it’s compensation for them being on. If they say no, I don’t want my kids filmed (like Camile form BH) then, the compensation is less. Just like if I pay you to clean my house (I just went over a new contract with may maid service so thisi is fresh in my mind), if you do a basic cleaing your fee is less than if you also clean my window, and a little more if you treat my leather, a little more if you do my laundry, a little more if you wax my floors, (is that 4 kids yet?). I think the kids should be paid but, we all know the drama that comes with these reality TV shows or just the pressure of growing up in the public eye. Parents hold some responsibility for putting their children on national TV.
Ah NO. Whatever ppl might think about ANY child or even young adult being on these kinds of shows, they’re on there, so why shouldn’t they get paid? Bravo pays the Manzo ” kids” for their services, why not get some $$ for the Giudice girls?? Plus, no matter what their current financial woes are NOW, does anyone doubt Teresa and Joe Giudice will happily give their girls $$ for college, weddings, cars etc when they’re older? IOW, Does anyone believe they’d really take advantage of their girls financially and swipe all the money for themselves?

If they start in on the kids, as this clip seems to indicate, I would not be surprised if T and Joe put the brakes on filming the kids for S5. I agree that they are primarily responsible if things get bad like they did with Ashley. I am still shocked that Jac allowed that to go on for as long as she did. She had a bratty teen on her hands (not a big deal) and she allowed her drama to play out on TV – setting her up for ridicule.

A couple of years ago, the LA Times did an article on the grey areas involving children on Reality TV and child labor laws.NJ prohibits kids from any environment in the entertainment field that’s dangerous to “life, limb, health or morals”, but the state of NJ couldn’t say whether or not the RHNJ was subject to its child labor laws!

I can understand how upset Tre got with Jaq over reading her daughter a book, BUT I do not think Gia’s behavior was at all appropriate. Instead of coddling her what she should have done was told her to quit acting like a baby and stop being disrespectful and pulled Jaq to the side and told her that she didn’t feel that was appropriate and to not do that again. I think she needs to take a break from reality tv and book tours etc… and raise her children. There is a HUGE difference in the way the older 2 act and Milania acts, haven’t seen anything yet with the youngest. That kid is cute but in about 10 more years when she is still acting like that it won’t be cute anymore. It will be just plain disrespectful. Even Gia has made remarks about how Tre is not at home much anymore. I know she is trying to maker her $$$ but come on girl your family needs you too. And I do not like her husband. an ADULT cheats at a game, the other ADULTS give him a pass on it. A CHILD reacts and calls him on it and the CHILD is reprimanded???? That’s some sick kind of justice there, good for Teresa for showing her daughter love when she most needed it. I disagree about Gia. She was NOT behaving badly. In fact, she was the only one who played the game honestly. Joey cheated and got called out on it and then denied cheating. Jacqueline basically called Gia a liar and a poor sport. Her reaction was normal. What wasn’t normal was the fact that Jacqueline, a grown adult with kids, reprimanded Gia for stating the truth.

@Free Kroy, Contrary to what you think, Kate Gosselin’s kids were never “paid.” The checks they received were cut to Kate and/or Jon. They got 250,000 dollars per episode which INCLUDED the “pay” for their kids. The kids don’t get individual checks written out to them. I don’t know about other reality shows, but what I do know is that NONE of the housewives kids who are minors get paid. Whatever money they make, it’s included in the housewives paychecks. Fact. Try google-ing things before you try to state your opinions as though they’re facts.
