RHOM Recap: A Tale Of Two Miamis
After a less than stellar first season, Bravo decided to revamp RHOM and give it a second try. Joining returners Lea Black, Adriana de Moura, Marysol Patton and “friend of the housewives” Alexia Echeverria are four new housewives: dentist Karent Sierra, socialite Lisa Hochstein, lawyer and celebrity chef Ana Quincoces, and supermodel Joanna Krupa. RHOM season 2 premiered this week to bring a whole new wave of drama and scandal in the sexiest city in America!
The season begins with an update on Marysol Patton’s life. Mama Elsa and her are at a jewelry store and we learn that Marysol (who we saw get married last season) is separated from her husband who has moved out of her house. We are then over for dinner at Ana Quincoces’s house which is a very strange and “unconventional” dynamic! Ana has her ex-husband over for dinner with her two daughters Beba and Kati. They have been separated but remain best friends and he is always over for dinner even though he dates other girls. From the outside looking in you wouldn’t be able to tell that these two are no longer a couple! The dinner is filled with laughs and taunts and Ana’s family is fun to watch on TV.
We are then introduced to Karent Sierra, a beautiful brunette in a beautiful home getting ready to start her day. She takes off and arrives at a dentist office except she is not getting a fancy dental treatment, Karent is the dentist! Hottest dentist ever to be honest! She has worked on celebrity teeth for a long time and she runs her own practice which is a dental spa, providing dental treatments and other spa services such as a laser removal. Back at home we met her sexy Latin soap opera actor boyfriend Rodolfo and her two parents who live with her. Things get a little awkward at a dinner when the couple talk about Rodolfo’s traveling schedule and the parents seem to doubt his fidelity on these work trips through Latin America!
Returner Lea Black catches us up on her recent whereabouts. She is rocking a new face and is exploring a new home with a real estate agent. This new home comes with a penis-shaped pool yet is in poor condition and Lea talks about just tearing it down and building a new one. Lifestyles of the Miami elite! The real estate agent shows her another house that recently sold in this exclusive community and Lea wants to know who bought it and who her new neighbors are. (I sense some scriptedness just to make a relation to another housewife – keep reading ahead.)
Lisa Hochstein is a sexy socialite who is married to Miami’s top plastic surgeon who specializes in breasts – hence why she calls him the “Boob God”. They live in a STUNNING mansion and have no children. Lisa spends time shopping for expensive things and hanging out with her best friend and house keeper Daisy. Although Lisa looks like a total bitch with her Botox, injected lips and huge fake breasts, I was surprised by her and I think she is actually really sweet and polite even though she says she is a spoiled brat. Her and Daisy have a nice relationship and she is working out with her to raise her confidence and help her through her sobriety process.
Joanna Krupa…this woman is just beautiful and flaw-free. She lives in Miami with her boyfriend who owns a top nightclub and we are introduced to her while she works on a shoot for a magazine. Joanna’s beauty radiates as she works the camera and we even see a glimpse of her personality when she goes off on her manager over being the editorial model and not the cover girl. She may come off as a diva to some, but to me she is just self-made and ambitious, and doesn’t take any crap. We even get some Kim Kardashian shade from her (Tahoe even organized an anti-fur protest outside Kim’s DASH Boutique). All in all, Joanna seems like a very outspoken and feisty woman and she will clearly be a great addition to the dynamic of the cast.
Lastly, we get to see Adriana and what she is up to in her life. She is still dating Fredric and he has bought her a new boat – except this new boat is so beat down and wretched and needs to be fixed. They show us this boat and Adriana talks about how she wants to live in it eventually. Ummm.
Back at Marysol’s, Mama Elsa has found her lost dog and she is so relieved. She brings up Marysol’s relationship status and this pushes Marysol to tears. Mama Elsa gets worked up and it takes the housekeeper to sing her a lullaby to clam her nerves. Mama Elsa apologizes to Marysol after rubbing her hands through a silver tray of rice, beans, and dice for energy. This woman is too much! Adriana and Lea meet up and it turns out that Adriana’s friend Lisa is the owner of the house that Lea had her eye on and now lives next to Lea’s new house. Lea invites Adriana to a wine event in Miami and she asks her to bring friends along.
In one limo, Mama Elsa rides with Marysol, Alexia, and Ana. I another limo, Lisa rides with Joanna and Joanna’s sister Marta. The ladies are mingling and introducing themselves to each other. Lea Black arrives and when Lisa tries saying hi and exchanging niceties, Lea snubs her and goes on to say hi to the other ladies. Jealousy already?
Karent Sierra arrives and it is revealed that her boyfriend Rodolfo keeps texting Ana in a less than casual way. Rodolfo even introduces himself as a stranger to Ana! Draaaama! This is definitely going to be a big storyline this season, with the love triangle going on. Moments into the night, Marta is seen crying because Joanna’s boyfriend Romain talks a to her badly. It looks like a Cynthia situation from RHOA so I hope we don’t get too much of that because it is so boring quite frankly.
The episode ends with Mama Elsa fainting due to the confined space and high temperatures! She is rushed to the hospital by paramedics and I think this sets the tone for the rest of the season – pure crazy madness!
The new cast seems to be very over the top which will make for some great TV. That, plus the nature of Miami as a city will make for a great season that is sure to redeem itself from the last time. So far, I am obsessed with Joanna and her outspoken ways, Lisa and her over the top personality, and I am looking forward to the Karent and Ana storyline. I’m not sure what role Lea will play, and I can honestly do without Adriana although that might change when she slaps Joanna across the face later this season. What did you think of the premiere? I really enjoyed the New castmates. I only watched Season 1 sporadically so I have to ask, what happened to Mama Elsa’s face? I feel bad for her because I know how unkind people can be.
I just read that Mama Elsa fainted again last week at a premiere party. TMZ had video of it too. Her face is terrible what’s sadder is Marysol is heading that way her face is slowly looking like Mama Elsa. I wonder what she looked like before? Season 2 def looks like a drama filled season.
I like the new girl Lisa and most of the new girls, I don’t know quiet why Lea is on the show…..
Ms. Elsa’s face is a mess, she should sue.
On the premiere episode when Marysol and her mom were at the store or some shop they were talking and Mama Elsa said that she had plastic surgery done on her face and her doctor botched it up. She said her and the doctor do not talk anymore.
I wonder if she was a victim of the doctor in California that pumped the celebs as well as others ( including Precilla Presley ) full of industrial silicone ? That man needs to me beaten till he looks like these poor ladies that he destroyed !
Hey, you know what’s weird? With the exception of Lisa, ALL of the women have jobs! Like, real actual jobs! Well, immediately I have to respect Miami for that at least.
It’s too early for me to say what I think about the new women, but I will say that it was kind of refreshing that Lisa out right admitted admitted that she had plastic surgery (That is, if you count a boob job and botox plastic surgery). And she seems to have a good relationship with her housekeeper.
It’s sad that Marysol’s marriage didn’t work out
I hope she finds someone else in her life. (Also, does anyone else find it weird that Karent lives with her parents? Culture or not, I still think it’s weird that someone with a successful job who appears to be financially stable is still living with their parents. She says that “Well, in our culture, we usually live with our parents until we get married”. Well what if you’re forty years old, and you’re still not married- does that mean you’re still living with your parents? I wouldn’t want to date anyone who’s financially successful, yet is still living with their parents).
Yes, the other chick. I know a lot of people who are in their 30′s that still live with their parents. Regardless if shes successful or not in some cultures they believe in taking care of their children is a necessity until they know a man comes along that will take care of their daughter. My culture is the same thing and i respect that she still follows her customs and cultures. To some its weird but for me its totally normal.

actually thatotherchick. karent’s parents are living with her. in some cultures it’s custom for adults to take care of their elderly parents. in many cultures the whole family live together, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, ect. i know a famous indian actress aishwarya rai lived with her parents until well into her 30s and finally moved out when she got married. for some reason it’s more acceptable for women to live with family but when a man does it looks weird. yeah so for me too i wouldn’t want to date a man that lives with his parents unless there’s a good reason but for many people it’s not a big deal.
I love it!!! This is going to be good. I am so happy Bravo got rid of S Pipen’s wife and Glen’s ex. I really can not remember their names but, they were boring and thought they were better than everyone else. How are you going to put someone down for running late picking up their child when you do nothing to take care of your own kids or household. You have nanny’s, cooks, house keepers, ect. I was done with them after that and stopped watching. Mama Elsa is the BEST, BEST, BEST. She had me laughing so much. OMG…when she was crying about her dog being missing and did not want to be called by Miami perverts. Then when the lady was singing the song and she dozed of in like 2 seconds. Can’t forget the rubbing her hands in the sand and 1 extremly large dice…But, the faint took the cake. I will watch every week just to die laughing at the things this lady says.
I agree with you Rox and Free Kroy! This season looks pretty interesting and I also can do without Adriana. She’s a beautiful woman but I don’t like her personality. At all.
Truthfully, I will tune in to watch Marysol and Mama Elsa! Elsa cracks me up like no other!

are u serious? wow, small world. i didn’t notice that was him. he seemed so controlled and charming at the atlanta episode and this time he looks like a nutjob yelling.
I love Mama Elsa. I also loved how JoAnna Krupa blasts through the stereotypes of beautiful blonde models with her clear ambition, committed activism and her social compassion. It was she who noticed Mama Elsa’s discomfort and went in search of a chair for her, though clearly later Mama Elsa must have gotten back up to mingle before her collapse. (Or was it Lisa who went off to find a chair?)
I was impressed with the new women, though Ana’s disrespect for her almost-ex desire to be a consumer protection lawyer was unfortunate. With all the people who have been defrauded by mortgage lenders, credit card companies and other scams, that is a noble calling – even if it does not lead to the kind of wealth that she aspires to.
The new women seem so pleasant, of course, in part because they have not unpacked their baggage yet. We already know that Marysol is vacillating and weak, that Adriana is dramatic and hyperbolic and Lea is domineering and over-confident. The new women have put their best feet forward, but I am sure they will be tripping over themselves soon enough.

Yes, this revamp will be entertaining! Joanna is one of my favorites so far. Elsa is going to provide a lot of hilarious one liners. I hope her health is ok!
ITA Rox – having Lea ‘go over’ to see the other house on Star Island seemed like a production set up. I wish Bravo knew the viewers are pretty savvy at this point and see through this stuff.
Joanna is now married to Romain so they must have straightened things out. Momma Elsa had a really bad face lift as did Bruce Jenner and some things can’t be fixed. Botox wears off in about 6 months and fillers in about a year so these women can go back to their original look if they had Botox or fillers. As soon as Marysol and had the argument about the wine fridge last season I knew there was trouble in their marriage. And didn’t Elsa give Marysol her engagement ring for Phillipe to use? I love this new season. No one is under 40 except for Joanna. Lea is in her late 50′s. She definitely had more work done between the seasons. Looking forward to next week.
I really am glad to see Marysol come back, I really like her as a person and Lea’s face looks good, although I’m not sure what I think of her in general. I’m glad to see Alexia too. Looking forward to the upcoming shows. Love the scenery and the clothes. Hopefully there isn’t an over the top of drama. I enjoy seeing decent conversation and relationships, not petty unsophisticated non sensical stuff.

Im sad to see marysol left felipe! Omg!! How sad?? I can tell shes totally devastated..but they arent divorced so hopefully it works out. Love love love the new girls just kinda feel sketchy about ana..something about her is rubbing me off on the wrong way. Why she is texting rodolfo is beyond me and how karent is okay with that is even more beyond me. Shes too beautiful for a pig like him! Lisa is funny, shes kind of like the new larsa with bigger balls and seems more real. As much as i liked larsa she was too boring. I think lisa can talk shit and admit she did it too. Love her, so far my fav! I like joanna and dont think shes a diva, shs just knows what she wants and demands it. Shes worked hard in the modeling business so i respect that. Love marta, but very upset the say joannas fiance treats marta. Joanna needs to stick up for her sis..romain or whatever the hell his name is wow..he looks like he will be causing lots of drama this season too. And lea black, EWWWWW. this old hag..and the way she dissed lisa and called them the “frankensteins” i think lea is intimidated by lisas looks and i think lea wanted the house the hochsteins purchased. I think lea is jealous and possessive. Also suprised her and marysol arent close..dont get what happened cause i wasnt paying that much attention but lea better back off my girl!!!!
