RHOC: Heather And Alexis Talk Slade’s Comedy Act
I felt extremely uncomfortable and embarrassed for Slade on RHOC this week. As much as he tried, he just wasn’t funny during his comedy act! I remember going to a comedy show in New York and a girl came to the stage and not one person laughed at her jokes! She was humiliated and so was I watching her! It’s an always awkward situation to watch someone..try so hard. So what did Heather and Alexis think about Slade’s act? They blogged and said..
Heather Dubrow: Gretchen and Slade’s show. . . there were a lot of inside jokes that Terry and I didn’t understand. We’d never seen The Real Housewives of Orange County before joining, so many of the references of past ‘Wives on the show went over our heads! I will say this, doing comedy is very difficult . . .I did do a little stand up myself as research for a musical I did (Yes, it’s true. I wasn’t very good, but it was a great experience!). I give Slade a lot of credit for getting up on the stage and trying it out! I also think in comedy you write about what you know, which he did. . .I just feel that if you are going to make fun of a group, make fun of everyone in the group. . . or else it can look targeted and malicious.
Alexis Bellino: Slade’s comedy act was definitely hurtful to Vicki and Tamra, and I don’t think it’s funny to make fun of other people, especially as part of an act where they aren’t able to defend themselves. However, some parts of his act were funny. I have to give both he and Gretchen props for getting up on that stage, because whether the show was good or bad, comedy has to be one of the most difficult things to attempt, and I wouldn’t have the nerve to do it.
I don’t know if I believe Heather and how she said she never actually watched the show. Maybe that’s true but I guarantee when she found out she was going to become an official housewife, she popped up all the seasons and watched every single last one! I don’t think it was cool that Slade was talking so much smack about Tamra and Vicki. Especially that Gretchen is now new “bffs” with Tamra. What did you think about the comedy act?

Slade wasn’t too funny,,, but Tamra and Vicki definitely had it coming. Tamra especially tore him a new one on the last reunion. Vicki IS dating a man with exactly the same charges of back child support.
That said, Slade and Gretchen did not come off well with this stunt

It was a horrible and juvenile act. Once again, he is riding on coattails of Gretchen and housewives.
As far as Tamra and Vicki deserving it, well, sorry, but they dished it out bad too, and it all started when Gretchen’s boyfriend began calling Tamra and got here involved in Gretchen’s mess. Tam has not been perfect, but G has been caught in many lies and has never taken responsibility for any of them. Finally, it was Tamra who just put it aside. She was the bigger person. Slade obviously is not and has resorted to HS mean girl tactics. He is not a man. As far as getting behind on payments, he should have lived within his means before and 2, he could have visited his son often…which he did not. He was a deadbeat dad in every sense of the word, and only showed an interest after getting a lot of sh*t for it. As far as T going “too far” on the reunion calling Michelle – she was just tired of the lies. And Slade said things that were so egregious and hypocritical she was really pushed to her limit. In fact, the things he said would be more appropriately directed to G.
I totally agree. I wonder why he dragged Jo into it, too? All I can think of is that he’s mad that he spent all of that money on her, and now he’s broke and living off of Gretchen. (I would be very surprised if she marries him, her parents are obviously well-off, they own some kind of motorcycle shop).
And how odd is it that Gretchen went to a Christian high school and college, yet all she does is talk about sex, drink and swear?
Slade just needs to go get a normal JOB and help his sick kid.
I agree. I don’t get why Gretchen is with him. Sure he’s a good guy or whatever butshe really can do so much better
Gretchen actually tweeted that the act was a lot better but Bravo made it like it was horrible. I hate how Bravo does that
Heather was on Good Day LA the other morning and once again said that she didn’t watch the show prior to being on it. I really believe that she didn’t watch the show before as she has no reason to lie about something like that. She said that her husband wanted her to be on the show and “didn’t talk to her for two weeks until she agreed to do the show” Dr. Dubrow seems to be a real ham and loves the cameras as he has been on a couple other TV shows .. The Swan and some other one.
Gotta say I’ve never laughed so much at any of the Housewives as I did when Alexis told Heather she’s a news anchor! LMAO! that was the funniest thing I’ve ever heard and gotta love Heather for her comeback!
As a side note: Steve Edwards and Julianne Barbari (the anchors on Good Day LA) were both praising Heather Paige Kent’s acting career and knew her very well. Really hope that Alexis was watching the show!

Heather is a liar. There is NOTHING interesting about her. She wants us to think she”s as rich as the Maloof’s for example. Not true. There is no conceivable reason bravo would “recruit” her. She is a true plain Jane. I feel bad for the husband. He’s likely getting no sex. Hope his mistress takes good care of him. Sure you signed a legal binding contract without verifying what you would be in for. Sure.
I know. What a snob AND a phoney. For someone so rich and “high-class” it’s very difficult to believe that she would just jump into anything without checking it out thoroughly. I think she and her husband have been foaming at the mouth trying to get on ANY show and brag about themselves and their wealthy lifestyle.
It really seems obvious that the tax laws are unbalanced in our country, when people can afford such a disgustingly opulent lifestyle and the majority are struggling to survive. An elevator and a private movie theater in a house that’s “too small?” Come on.
I agree that Heather is full of it. She’s an uptight B. already judging and making very snide remarks.
I would have preferred to watch Slade’s mom do a comedy routine about Slade.

Vicki at the end of last season said she like slade and could tell how much he carse about gretchen. she also apologized for anything negative she said about him. Its Tamra that was the bioch through it all and I still dont understand why Gretchen wants to be good friends. I can understand be polite but thats just it.
I am glad Slade finally called Vicki & Tamra out, they have been ugly & nasty to him for years…… Go Slade….
Now Gretchen don’t believe anything out of Tamra’s mouth…She will be back with Vicki when Vicki’s new relationship dies down a bit.
Tamra is obviously trying to change people’s perception of her. The truth is, she is a bold face liar, (remember the fight between her and Geena). Tamra told everyone that Geena pushed her and tried to throw her in the pool.
The Woman is sick. She was split up with Simon for a hot second before She was with Eddie. Does anybody really believe she wasn’t cheating?
Gretchen has a good heart, she should watch out for Tamra. Vicky is just a nasty person as well.
Tamra and Vicki has said mean things about him and all, but Slade is acting like they’re the ones who put everything out in the press and that they ruined his life or something. Him not paying child support and going broke was all over the media before Tamra and Vicki ever harped on it. Sure, Tamra and Vicki deserved what was said about them, but really? Slade is a 40 something year old man who’s acting like a girl in freaking high school. He’s the one that makes Gretchen look bad. She’s trying to mend fences and trying to be an adult while he’s acting juvenile and quite frankly bitchier than a girl PMSing.
IA, but Gretchen has made herself look bad by herself too, Slade just makes her look worse, ha ha.

Actually, I think Slade is about 50. He looks to be anyway. No wonder he’s so immature, he runs around with women that are 15-20 yrs younger.
