Ratings For The Real Housewives Of New York Dropping; Andy Doesn’t Care If This Season Tanks!
Uh oh! Bad news. Ratings for The Real Housewives of New York continue to drop week after week! Compared to the ratings for last season, the average ratings for the past few episodes have gone 21% down in total viewers. Not only that but the show is so far the lowest rated since back in 2009!
A show insider tells NyDailyNews, “The new girls don’t seem to be working, and Bravo is concerned.”
So how do you think Andy feels about this? Apparently he can careless! The source adds, “Andy doesn’t care if the ratings for this season tank. He has backed away from the show. This is the first season he’s not editing. He’s busy with other projects and doesn’t have time to go over hours of film.”
The source says, “The best thing they could do is bring back Jill and Alex and pretend this season never happened.”
I mean I’ve enjoyed the season so far. Do you think the new ladies should be blamed for the dropped ratings? Would you want to see Jill and Alex back? Was firing them a bad idea?

I do not miss Jill and Krazy Kelly. Alex would have been fun with the new women, of course Countless LuAnne would be mean to her. Maybe blame Alex’s lack of emotional support for her inability to conceive with her latest lay. I would crawl under a rock if I were LuAnn’s kids.

I disagree, I think Jill was the counterpoint to Ramona. I quit watching when she left and I would come back if she returned….and no I am not Jill or a paid blogger.
With the string of comments i read before this one I also feel the need to say Jill didn’t put me up to this! But…I actually liked Jill. I can’t stand Alex. I haven’t watched this season. I saw a few previews online & just wasn’t interested. I agree, Jill was Ramona’s counterpoint. Now it just seems like the crazy Ramona show.

Jill wants to believe that the show is doing badly without her as part of the cast. WRONG. I don’t think viewers have gotten to know the new cast members very well yet. I personally like them all and think it should be interesting.

I actually really like this season so far. Instead of these random drama filled story lines you have pretentious, society women with real money living in New York. I expect them to act as if they have a notion of what class is. I like that they are actually upper class. That’s the reason I liked NY and BH so much there are the two places its very hard to fake it. You have to have some sort of real money to get by in NYC and have access to certain areas.
I’d much rather see fabulous clubs, restaurants and events in NYC than fighting among the women. I honestly don’t care much about the women themselves but what they are supposed to represent and thats a look into a different type of lifestyle.
I agree, give this lineup a chance. The only one who has a society entre though is Radziwell. Even she has no credentials other than her marriage to the Polish prince. Sonja, although not to the purple born, maintains her contacts because she is entertaining. She is at a posh party in Venice this week. Heather is in this to sell her yummy tummy, Aviva has issues because of her leg. Luann is a poser. This whole hire Jill and Alex back news article is Jill generated.

I like the new ladies. They are interesting and we are getting to see New York from different perspectives. I could do without Lou anne.
I’m watching as we speak and I’m forcing myself to keep watching. It’s very dry. I miss Jill. I could do without weirdo Alex and her crazy Simon. I doubt this franchise will last long.
This is because there are too many housewives shows!!!! I used to love it and follow every single series, but there are too many, and to watch them all is time much too time consuming. Not even to mention repetitive. I mean within two weeks you could watch the real housewives of Orange County, New Jersey, and New York (talk about overkill!)
The problem with new york is there was so much drama leading up to the start of the new season with all of the firings that the drama/entertainment that has actually been recorded doesn’t even seem to compare.
Also since there are so many versions, the housewives that are casted absolutely play up their camera time just to compete with the other versions, and that sort of behavior seems forced and NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THEIR REALITY AT ALL!
The only way I can see them fixing the series is pull this stunt and film it all: Fire the new ladies on camera and bring back Jill, Kelly, and Alex. While I know this is harsh, and I don’t support intentionally embarrassing somebody in front of an audience, it is the only fix! And that is just a temporary solution. The only long term fix is to shorten seasons, and don’t have various versions airing simultaneously.
Don’t bring Jill back she turne into the mean girl. I think I will like the new girls once I get to know them. Lu Ann and Ramona having a hard time with this year.
I love the Countess! She’s my favorite. Ramona is a nasty lush that is so stale in her attempt to stay relevant. Sonja is a faker barely holding on to the manhattan lifestyle. I adore Heather, she seems genuine and fun. Aviva is all class and brings a dynamic of resiliance as her disability doesn’t seem to hold her back.carol I’m not sure about. She is a snob and riding on the Kennedy name.
I would not mind Alex back, but Jill – never. Not just for her behavior on the show, but her post-firing behavior. To quote La Zarin herself, “We’re done!”
You know what they say, if it isn’t broken don’t fix it, or something like that….. The only thing about last season with the cast members were many of the viewers complaining about certain housewives EVEN though they ‘continued to tune in’, thus the ratings remained golden…. Now we have not one, but three newbies & having to get to know them which many viewers aren’t enjoying the process of doing so. Thus the ratings are way down… Andy had to give up a lot of his input when he took upon a ‘weekly’ WWHL show & this isn’t his whole responsibility now as it once was.. Bottom line, IF the rumor is true & no one actually cares about the ratings,which is hard to believe, then they’re either giving the newbies a ‘chance’ OR ‘RHONY’ will follow in the dark path of DC & Miami housewives & never be heard of again….. Guess we’ll just have to wait & see…….
To be honest with all of you, all these shows are going down. All of them. It’s too many and too fake. Nobody in the real world fights with their friends and family members like this. When we do, we certainly don’t invite them to parties to fight some more. These shows are fake, the stories are faked by the cast members and viewers are realizing that reality t.v. is loaded stories of dramatic bullshit.
This season is not that bad. I have to say though I’d prefer the original cast minus Kelly. Sonja and Ramona are riots!!

I didn’t love Jill, but I do miss her being able to Ramona in her place and it was always entertaining. I didn’t love Alex either but her and Simon brought a kind of “hot mess” to the show and that was very entertaining as well. Heather is boring, Carole is fabulous and Aviva is very “wishy washy”…hoping the season gets better. But I’m craving a good old fashioned Bethenny/Kelly or Ramona/Jill showdown! And one more thing…Sonja needs to start PAYING a hair and make up person..she looks a wreck this season!
In Bravo’s summer Olympics ad, I thought Jill was the redhead in the stands. I hand to watch it a few times before I realized it was Kathy Griffin !
The series is moving on well they need to give it a bit more time till the real crazies start coming out. You have to understand once these new chicks get used to having the cameras around, you will not think Ramona is that CRAZY anymore!!!! I will not mind having Jill or Alex back for sure!!!!! Keep Kelly and Cindy away…….
All of them seem like they’re fake. This is my least favorite RH’s. The only ones that are entertaining are Ramona and Sonya, the rest are all boring.
I agree that this article seems like it came from the Jill-camp. She’s been pushing having her recast as a fix since before the season began airing it seems! Personally I could never stand Alex and the faster she fades into oblivion the better!
I think that keeping LuAnn was mistake. I’m shocked to say that because historically, last year in particular, I wasn’t a fan of the Blondes and could sympathize with the Brunettes on most issues. LuAnn brings drama that is old and her story lines seem manufactured for the show which makes it hard to buy into as a viewer. I felt like she was fine in a supporting role but now she has stepped into a lead. With her on the show it will be hard to shake the negative image the show has developed in past years. She overpowers the new personalities and that keeps the show stale. I think the new ladies, collectively even though I’m not a fan of all, provide a freshness that could have revived the show and made it fun again had LuAnn’s antics not weighed it down. Keeping Jill and booting LuAnn would have even allowed for a more upbeat feel.
I just caught up on the first three episodes and I’m entertained – I think it just needs some time. Bringing Jill back would be a nightmare mistake. I will say that I am curious why all of a sudden this year LuAnn is filming scenes right and left with her children – PR to counter the “weekend mom” label? Pretty transparent.

Not a blogger, not a friend a Jill and it is sad that I need to post a disclaimer. I haven’t watched a single episode of RHNY this year and I’m not going to b/c I really watched because of Jill. I also haven’t watched RHNJ because it seems to be such a train wreak, as I have never watched the Atlanta crew doesn’t that just leave Orange County(which I do still watch). I turn on Bravo now to watch Jeff Lewis and Top Chef the original and not much else. I even DVR RHOC. Programming has become a problem.
I personaly love the new ladies. Bring back Alex & Simon because there are more husbands than just Mario to hang out with. Would be cool to watch that. NO JZ EVER AGAIN!!!!!
