I still find it strange that the woman was willing to be paid off. I’m not saying that he didn’t push boundaries, but I’m sorry, you rape me and all the money in the world is not going to stop me from pressing charges on your ass to at least stop you from doing it to someone else. I think to some degree the chick in that situation was lying.
I don’t know…sometimes victims of rape would rather just “sweep it under the rug” to avoid thinking about it or dealing with it. Rape is a whole different type of crime, it isn’t like being mugged, it is the worst type of personal violation and a lot of rape victims would rather not have to face their attackers ever again, let alone talk about it in court. There’s a weird type of guilt that the victims get.

JPG this is not suprising and happens all the time as the victim usually feels this is the safest route to take because then she won’t have to suffer through reliving it at trial. Sad but it happens everyday in every city. As a matter of fact very few cases go to trial most are settled out of court for a monetary fine that the victim receives

I’m not shocked at all she let him “pay her off” the majority of rape victims don’t even report the crimes because they feel dirty, embarrassed, ashamed, and violated… they last thing they want to do is go in to a police station or hospital and have to go through the process that is required to report a rape, much less go to court and have to face their attacker again… most just want it to go away…

Whoa,whoa, Whoa, JPG, I very seldom take anyone’s here comments seriously, but this comment about a rape victim I can’t ignore. I personally have never seen the evidence of who was raped, or even if a rape occurred, BUT don’t ever think you know how you would react UNLESS you have been a rape victim.
There doesn’t seem to be any more evidence that anyone was paid off or intimidated into dropping charges, but if this young woman or anyone who has been raped is “paid off” or “scared off”, I personally totally understand. Unless you have been there you truly can’t judge.
I have worked with rape victims for a long time now (payback for the help I received, as well as getting my “power” to do something back) and no one reacts the same way. The fear, shame, anger, rage ,etc. effect everyone differently.
I was young, strong and had a black belt in judo, and the only thing that saved me was begging and doing everything I was told. Beyond degrading, but it took me a long time to appreciate the fact that I was ALIVE, and that meant I won. I did follow thru with everything I was asked to by the police and the DA, and, guess what? Nothing. He walked, the next woman he almost killed.
So please, don’t make the assumption that if she took money or didn’t pursue charges that she was a LIAR.
Thanks for listening to my rant, but so many people make assumptions about rape victims, that only makes life so much worse for the victims.

IMO all of the men on this show have problems looking at women as an eqal partner except Juicy. If you notice the men on this show all control the finanaces in their households with the exception of Juicy. Tre is the only one with free rein when it comes to money. Yes, I include Caroline and whatever his name is in this category also, she has made remarks about whats his name (I trully cannot for the life of me remember his name) giving her money and having to ask permission on gifts etc. Shes not as strong as she likes to portray.
I can not for the life of me imagine asking my husband if I could have a few bucks.His paycheck always went into the bank and I did what was needed.He could not have cared less so long as he food,shelter,and his cigars.

I agree that the men on this show have problems looking at their partners as equals. Joe Giudice may appear to treat Tre as an equal now, but I think he doesn’t have a choice since she has an income now. If you recall season 1 & 2 his attitude was different; he was always saying how he gave her money, implying he was the man. If Tre is to be believed, she didn’t know anything about their financial problems until the BK.

There’s a reason women drop charges and don’t report. Of 100 rapes that happen, 46 will get reported. Of those 46 reported rapes, only 11 lead to an arrest. Of the 11, only 3 will get convicted.
When your home is robbed and the burglar is tried, the thief cannot use in his defense that you had a really great TV that was so hot and so tempting. He can’t say that leaving your windows open was an invitation to be burgled. He can’t say that you invited people into your home before, so really, your home is open to everyone. He cannot say that you gave him a TV last year, so it was understood that you would give him a TV again. He cannot go through your history, pointing out that sometimes you don’t lock your windows, that you occasionally donate household goods to others, that you have a showy home with lots of tempting items. He cannot say you deserved to be robbed, that you consented to be robbed, that you let other rob you.
But for a woman who is raped, all of those arguments are accepted defenses.

I just want to add that it does seem like going against Teresa is like kicking puppies.Most people hate that kind of thing.It would not be a problem if these folks made their cases in normal healthy ways.Instead they rip into her and attack everything most of us hold dear.
Act like savages doing it, then turn around and call Teresa evil, heartless, villain, selfish?? That gets me every time. Never see her do anything but be the most real and down to Earth ( IMO), and they treat her like that, and call her names!
that fight between kim d and little joey marco really enraged me. i understand he was mad at her for the setup but the things that were coming out of his mouth really crossed so many lines. you know damn well if joe guidice talked to teresa like that the teresa haters would’ve attacked him and wanted him to be arrested for verbal abuse,but it’s okay for little joey marco to verbally attack a woman that way?! i don’t think so. if he was talking like that to a man. his ass would’ve been punched and if he can so easily put down another woman like that what makes anyone think he doesn’t talk that way to melissa. i do not respect men that attack women that way.
I want to know why Andy blatantly miss pronounces Joe and Teresas last name every opportunity he has? Has anyone else noticed? At the reunion he would miss pronounce their last nam, then he along with the rest of the hater cast would get smug looks on their faces! To me this just goes to show how much he thinks of Tre. He’s being disrespectful in such a childish way. I wish Andy would lay off her cuz w/o her RHONJ would not be what it is.

Yes, mostly scripted, so…….I missed the fact (?) that Jac is an alcoholic. They do prescribe, sometimes, Xanax for alcoholism, but I don’t know anybody who knows Jac personally. I do think the person I’ve seen smashed on the show, and it doesn’t make her addicted, is KimD…nicki
