New Housewife Heather Thomson Discusses Her Problems With Ramona

Newest RHONY housewife took to her bravo blog to discuss her problems with Ramona Singer. Heather believes that Ramona planned to be a target on her back and wanted to attack her at her dinner. She says,

“Kicking off the season, I was genuinely excited to meet the Sonja’s friends at her party, but had no idea what I was about to walk in on. . .

These ladies were still dealing with issues from the past, and we new girls hit the ground running. ??After fussing over the slip that I wore from my line at the party, I decided to invite Ramona (who I had met briefly in the halls of HSN) to come up to my office to see what my brand, Yummie by Heather Thomson (yummielife.com) was all about. Although, we never quite get into the collection! ??

Since you didn’t get to hear how I started my brand, here is the short version: After the birth of my little guy Jax, (who had a really rough start into this life to say the least), I went to the shapewear department to boost my confidence and whittle my middle. I didn’t want people feeling sorry for me. Believing that looking good is feeling good (and the reverse), I wanted to attack the deflated inner tube my very large pregnancy had left around my middle. I was frustrated by the options then available to me, so I took matters into my own hands and created my patented three panel tank that quickly became a feel good, look good solution for women everywhere!

Trying to share this story with Ramona triggered her to go into her experience regarding the forceps delivery she had with the birth of her daughter, Avery. Any woman who has a less than stellar experience at childbirth has my full attention, but it was a little hurtful that Ramona never actually took the time to hear me out. Needless to say, there wasn’t much sharing going on in this meeting.

A couple of days before I was expected at Ramona’s dinner party, she tagged along to Sonja and
my drinks date. My dad had died just a few days before we started filming, and it was a lot, as you can imagine — lots of change, lots of responsibility with Dad’s dealings and, overall, my emotions were definitely on the surface.

Ramona’s comforting take on that was that I have “issues,” lumping the fact that my son had a liver transplant into my dad’s death, with no warmth or concern and so I figured, why not also take the opportunity to really send her over the edge of real life struggles and share my dear friend Alexandra Elman’s story? Like Ramona, Alexandra is in the wine business, but unlike Ramona, Alex lost her vision and ultimately two of her organs to diabetes in her late twenties. I probably don’t need to tell you what an inspiration to us mere mortals Alex Elman is! (Go blind wine chick! She is a fabulous and fiercely strong woman who deals with her disabilities head on. This just pushed Ramona over the edge! LOL! Too much reality for Ramona to handle!

Anyway! There is no good time to tell someone who you’ve just met that you are going through some of life’s bumps, but I can tell you the reactions I got were far from caring and supportive. I was incensed, but I figure some good old karma will make up for that!

What I didn’t realize is that when I left the bar that night, Ramona had attached a target to my back. At dinner the next evening, I certainly felt the darts from both Ramona and Mario starting to fly but thankfully my shapewear pieces not only slim your line but they deflect haters too! Can you believe they invited me into their home and then attacked me? Ramona and Mario, shame on you!

Well, I am excited the new season has started and I can’t wait for everyone to see all of the drama we get into during the upcoming weeks. Stay tuned and stay yummie!
xoxo Heather”

I think their was a lot of interrupting going on with both of the ladies and both tried to out-do each other with their ‘touching’ stories. Who do you think was in the wrong? Ramona or Heather?

I really like the new ladies!

  2. Srt_3 says:

I like Ramona. That being said, I think she is a little mean at times. However, not really feeling any of the new ladies. I feel they knew how the show was and came out with guns blazing.

BUT……SO glad the other ladies are gone!!!!

    • Margie says:

Me, too!! I can’t believe how much I do NOT miss Jill or Kelly.
I think the major difference between Ramona and LuMan is that Ramona doesn’t say things to be malicious. LuMan has got to think the viewers are stupid. We’ve all read that she came from humble beginnings. Her la-tee-dah attitude was acquired while she was married to a cheater. Can’t say I blame him but she needs to get off the high horse.

  3. Dylan says:

That’s just Ramona’s personality, either you like it or you leave it. I think that it’s too early to judge how sensitive Heather is right now, because as she mentioned (at such odd times) her father recently passed, so she is dealing with a lot emotionally. She probably just wanted to talk excessively to keep her mind off of what she was going through at the time. I do like Heather’s personality, I think in the future she will be very entertaining!

    • bbmac12 says:

I feel the same! Just reading her blog I think Heather is annoying so far, but will wait and see after more ep’s.

      • michers says:

I think annoying too. I don’t see how Ramona bringing up her birth story was hurtful to Heather? That obviously proves to me that Heather is the one upper! No one else can make conversation with her I guess. its all me me me.

  4. MissViGyal says:

Season after season we have watched Ramonas erratic behavior. She always has an excuse too. She insults everybody and never takes a step back and looks at her very poor behavior. I like this new girl and i have to say her story was clearly more important and needed to be heard compared to visualizing Ramona give birth. I feel like Ramona is a very jealous woman and always feels like she has to one up everyone but i think she may have found her match another succesful and younger version of her.

    • Me says:

you are on the money! She is such a hater and immature. She is inappropiate and acts as if she in the only person in the world that matters.

    • Moxie Vi says:

ITA! “Successful and younger version of her” is exactly what I think the root of Ramona’s issues with Heather are. Since season 1 Ramona has portrayed herself as the entrepreneurial businesswoman with her discount retail business, Mario’s religious jewelry business, her skin care line and now pinot grigio. Sad thing is that yet again we’ll see successful women tear each other down instead of leveraging each other’s strengths to make each of them even stronger and more successful. It’s a great opportunity to learn from mistakes that others have made so you avoid them yourself. Problem is that in order to do that you have to be honest about your faults and I don’t think Ramona has that in her.

I was watching an earlier season when Bethenny was still on and she was at a party for Ramona’s skin care line. She noticed that Ramona had the jewelry and skincare branded separately and recommended that they should be the same (which business-wise is optimal) but Ramona would not hear it. After that was when she called Bethenny the underdog. No matter your thoughts on B as a person, she knows branding, even Kelly gives her props for that! Ramona also tries to use the show to market her Ramona Pinot Grigio yet she never seems to use the brand name, only ever asks/demands pinot. Asking for pinot without the name doesn’t do anything to bolster her brand and only makes her look like a drunk. This past episode she did a better job of this both at Sonja’s and the happy hour. Could you imagine if Bethenny had only ever ordered a margarita and not a Skinny Girl margarita? I do think that Ramona is a good businesswoman and smart but I think her ego and pride can get in her way.

      End rant. :-)

    • Ali says:

I completely agree! Ramona can be quite rude at times and she always thinks she is more important than others. She and Jill weren’t that different. That’s why they couldn’t get along.

  5. karen says:

I have never liked Ramona, I find her to be mean and nasty most of the time. The rest of the time her eyes are popping out of her head and she has a bottle or glass of wine in her hand and clearly drinks too much.

  6. Me says:

It’s very transparent that Ramona has serious head and mouth issues. She is a functioning alcoholic and is rude to the core. She doesn’t care about anyone else and sounds as if she is the only person that has credibility. FACK HER! I can’t stand another whack season spoiled by this freak. I am not even watching. Previews are enough. She’s bullied everyone else…

    • all says:

Totally agree! I have a hard time watching NY housewives because of Ramona. She claims she is just honest but I was taught that you should say nothing if you’ve got nothing nice to say. She is cruel and entirely selfabsorbed. Whenever someone tries to tell her that she has overstepped the line, she excuses her behavior and turns the tables on that individual. It’s really revolting for an adult to act that way.

  7. T says:

Ramona is cray cray! Totes! Heather seems a bit like Ramona to me but I actually liked her less than Ramona. She is dealing with a lot so I’ll give her a chance but she is definitely all about me me me.

  8. Helen Wheels says:

I’ll take the devil I know over the one I don’t any day. I don’t usually instantly dislike anyone but this Heather – man is she an exception to my rule.

What! A! Phony! To Ramona’s face (regarding the Learning Annex cover)she says,: “Look at you,” as enthusiastic as a contestant who’s just seen what’s behind Door Number Two and is absolutely thrilled about it. Go to her Talking Head Interview and what do we see and hear? Heather acting like being on the Learning Annex cover is an utter humiliation that no one worth a farthing would brag about. That was just for starters, the phoniness was just beginning as we saw. But, when she bid Luann adieu with – “Holla!” That did it for me. I was done.

Now she’s a “Hollaback Girl?!” Give me a break.

One thing you can say for Ramona. What you see is what you get. She DOES NOT try to be all things to all people.

    • Janie G says:

Heather is all smiles and acceptance of what you are saying to your face, but then she rips into you behind your back — not nice, Heather!! Ramona makes me grind my teeth at times, but you certainly know where she stands.

    • cammierari says:

spot on Helen. Heather is a snob who likes to talk about herself and behind the backs of people she knows.
I much prefer Ramona. She can be rude, but she has a good heart and always says what she has to say to your face, good or bad

    • michers says:

Helen, I totally agree ! I feel the same about Ramonacoaster, she makes me laugh! Heather started off ewww and I want to say bratty I think! Its clear to me anyway that they had prior intentions coming on the show , some of them knowing Jill already and LuLu, and hearing the gossip ( Aviva and Heather ) . So far I like Carole, seems down to earth and calm cool and collected.

  9. Amy Carroll says:

I think Ramona was set up to be jealous of Heather. Ramona prides herself on her business acumen. We saw Heather’s substantial office space, large staff, collegiality with her employees, and well known brand. Oh, by the way, Heather also sells her shapewear on HSN. So Ramona is not the big business fish on RHNY. Since she is no doubt envious of Heather, (did I mention that Heather is young?) Ramona has to pick fights with Heather in order to enhance her own status on the show.

By contrast we have seen that Ramona’s career consists of being a jobber, with a relatively small offce and staff, whom she insults and humiliates every chance she gets. She blames all of this on her father. Heather’s father died and Heather is saddened by this, as opposed to Ramona who did not care that her father died. (Lots of these gals have Daddy issues). Heather is too successful and normal to get along with Ramona.

  10. Cajsa says:

I took a pretty instant dislike to Heather after he supercilious comment about The Learning Annex. Who else has been on the cover? Mayor Bloomberg, Al Gore, and hundreds of others. Many much more accomplished than either Heather or Ramona. It showed that terrible elitism of the nouveau riche – looking down on anything that connects them to the hoi polloi.

Even LuAnn is not that much of an ignorant snob.

  11. U can't hide stupid says:

Oh lord Ramona is the most annoying underhanded individual. I rarely have strong dislikes for any RH. But Ramona is so repellent. She absolutely did disclose information about Victoria – and I do believe she sent that horrific text that Luann mentioned. Remember last season (?) when she sent Kelly (?) the mean text. She does that kind of stuff. Ramona was the one who tweeted the link to the video of Victoria smoking pot. There’s a real empathy chip missing there.

  12. realityreallybites says:

The only two I like is Carole Radziwill and Sonya. Ramona is getting too crazy and controlling and Heather seems to be same as Ramona. I couldn’t care less if all the others bash the hell out of each other. The RH series are becoming so predictably mean and dark.

  13. R8dernationbby says:

Heathers comment about that magazine turned me off right away..as well as her reciting her resume. Frankly IDGAF who you worked for…I can’t stand that crap. Also..this is a Housewives show ..so why am I listening to some lady state she doesn’t want to hear about kids? Majority of viewers probably have them..Carole (sp?) Comes off as a “Royal” snot so far. I’m 1 for 3..as I did like Aviva.

    • Moxie Vi says:

Hey! On the Carole/anti-kid front – In a way she got brownie points with me there. Then again, I’m 32 with no children so other than my neices and nephews I have no real experience or knowledge on the kids subject. There have been many conversations that I’ve stepped out of because they were almost painfully dull to me. Granted, those were the type where people talk about their kids in the same way they discuss the weather – more formality and really forced. I was surprised at how quickly she excused herself and how absolute her reaction was. Since the conversation did seem a bit awkward and formal I gave her a pass and thought perhaps editing shortened the kiddy-convo that we heard. I also think that perhaps she was using it as an excuse to break away from Aviva since Aviva had basically talked to her the entire time which didn’t allow her to mingle at all. Even though it’s a Housewives show, I do think the non-Housewives add something, especially for single viewers such as myself and most of my friends. I’m not a fan of franchises that have almost NO Housewives. Headsmack on that one!

I’m on the fence about all of the new ones. Aviva is on my good side now but all of the stories that came out during filming focused on how she changes mid-season, so I’m a bit reserved. I liked Heather until the two-face magazine reaction and her basically asking Ramona for gossip about what Luann said at Sonja’s party. It’s too early to write any of them off yet, for me at least!

Off topic… I’m a massively huge football fan. Raiders have done SO much this offseason! I’m really looking forward to seeing how the changes play out on the field next year. Right now I’m just eagerly awaiting the start of training camps in a month or so.

      • NYC chick says:

I’m 31, married with no kids and for the life of me, I get so bored (and so do the mothers, let’s be honest) of hearing about mundane child stories. I have friends that keep it real and they all love their kids BUT a few “would’ve done things a little differently”…child talk is about as interesting as watching paint dry and I love Carole for saying that in a respectful way

  14. madamedummy says:

ramona is a ‘malignant narcissist’ ..
she has a serious personality disorder …,
    disgustin’ creature …

  15. madamedummy says:

too soon to tell with the newbies…

  16. NYC chick says:

Ramona’s jealous and erratic like a 56 yr old coke head…she’s successful at what? cutting people off? Heather seems cool to me, yes she told the story of her baby BFD, only an insecure **** would have to jump in with their kids’ story…and clearly she’s got a REAL business, I have no idea what pecker face did for all those years

  17. V.O. says:

I love the new characters as they will give Ramona a run for her money. I greatly look forward to her being called on her s**t as I have been doing from my couch for years. Go Heather!

  18. nic says:

Heather may just be my favorite RHONY! I cannot stand Ramona!! She is just a bully and it is so refreshing to see someone who isn’t too scared to admit it–other than Luann or Jill. And yay for Sonja finally growing a pair!
