Melissa Gorga Talks Stripper Rumors And Her Relationship With Teresa!
Real Housewives of New Jersey will soon be back on television! That means the girls are going to be everywhere! RealityTea spoke to RHONJ star Melissa Gorga and asked her about the recent stripper rumors as well as how her relationship with Teresa is!
RT: Was it worth it to come on the show? Has it been a positive experience for you?
MG: “Yeah, so far, so good! There’s always good and the bad. There’s been so many made up stories; it’s funny. There’s always these people that come out on Twitter and say the most ridiculous things, and you’re like where are they getting this from? You kinda realize it comes with the territory. It’s what you have to go through when you’re on a reality show. There’s gonna be the ones that absolutely love you and there’s gonna be the ones who don’t agree with you.”
Positive? I think when she says positive she’s talking about having the chance to be able to “sing.” I don’t know how she could say it’s been positive when she no longer speaks to her family…but then again she probably likes it that way! Just saying!
So, the infamous “stripper rumors…” How did Joe and your family handle hearing those things about you? Was it stressful?
“That, I have to say, was probably the least amount of stress. It was just so absurd. It was so ridiculous. Joe actually used to come see me when I bartended there. I bartended when I was in college. He knows! From the very start, it was just ridiculous. It seemed very set-up; it was set-up. There’s usually no men at the Posche Fashion Show. They don’t really come. There’s usually maybe one here or there, but to have, like, this table of men that have nothing to do with any of us. That happened to be the table that he’s at – Mike and he walks over to me. It was very fishy. I could see maybe I would get nervous or frazzled if there was any truth, but there’s zero truth. It just seemed so fake. It just wasn’t nice. I have three little babies at home – why start rumors that I was a stripper? I’m almost sure the stripper thing is the finale. I was a little upset at the time. I felt so set-up. And the other girls saw it and they were getting so upset over it. We just didn’t who to look at; we didn’t know who to blame. And you know certain signs point to certain things and there’s little clues here and there. But until I watch it play out on TV. I’m sure there’s things that I don’t know yet, that I haven’t seen, that other people have shot. Until I really see it play out I’m not going to point my finger at anyone. In the long run, it doesn’t hurt me. He didn’t even say it to my face. And supposedly [this conversation], it went on behind my back with my sister-in-law and it didn’t happen in front of my face. I wish he would have said it to me so I could have been able to defend myself. I wasn’t even able to say ‘that’s not true”
The fact that she has to say she had no stress due to the rumor probably means she got really stressed because of the rumor. And she did point fingers. Jacqueline and her blamed Teresa Giudice for it the next day after the Fashion Show. I don’t really get how she can say no men go to the Fashion Show when this was probably her first year going…Also it was Angelo [general manager of lookers] who walked over to Melissa not “mike.”
Why do you think he confronted Teresa with these allegations?
Well, that’s the tricky part. That’s the part that we’re trying to figure out. How it was all so conveniently Teresa had met him earlier in the day and Teresa had went to a salon and got her hair done and he just happened to be there and he just happened to come to the Posche Fashion Show… I’m not pointing finger at anyone, because I don’t have facts and that’s not fair. But it just doesn’t feel right. I just don’t wanna believe that anyone would do that to me, especially someone who is part of my family. Bravo has magic. We’ll see which way they play it.” Melissa believes the entire thing started with a group of people who want to get on the show and want to be Housewives, so they were starting drama to catch Bravo’s attention.
If there was a group trying to start something why is she hinting that Teresa had something to do with it. Bravo is known for doing set-ups and was probably contacted from people who didn’t like Melissa. Duh.
The power of social media with reality television has been amazing, to say the least. How do you respond to some of things you hear floating around the blogs and twitter?
I block a lot of them. I don’t block anyone who has an opinion. I get when there’s someone who has an opinion. That’s all understandable, but when they tweet me the c-word, and they don’t know me. It’s amazing that they come up with this stuff. I block the nasty, vulgar stuff. It seems like there’s this one little group, so I hear, that is just nasty and they’re huge Teresa fans. And what they don’t get is – if you’re such a big Teresa fan wouldn’t you root for our family to fix it? I’m not that crazy one, I don’t scream around, I don’t flip tables – so I don’t attract them; which is fine.”
Ohhhhhhhhh so now Teresa attracts people who are crazy because she is crazy? Nice, Melissa! Keep digging a hole for yourself. Let’s not forget how Melissa’s makeup artist spends his days bashing Teresa and her family even calling Teresa “crazy” talking about her appearance and trashing Joe Giudice!
It’s interesting how emotionally attached viewers become to the show and the ladies… You guys put yourself out there and, to me, seem the most real.
“It’s really intense. There’s a big misconception that there’s problems between Joe and Teresa, between Teresa and I because of the show. That is so not true. Whatever you see going on, we were like this – for years. It has nothing to do with the show. And there are times during this season coming up that Teresa and I get along so perfectly and we have such a great time and that’s what I’m looking forward for people to see. We are a true family. We go through ups and downs, and if you really, really pay attention – it’s nothing that insane. We’re bickering; it’s very normal. It’s not that crazy. I think people area making it seem much more than it actually is. To me, these are normal sister-in-law problems. The Christening, not normal, by no means would I say that’s normal, but if you look beyond that to everything else that’s going on; it’s sister-in-law bickering. We’re very passionate people. I love my family; I love Joe’s family. I’ve given up so much of my family, at times, just to be with his family. People don’t know the backstory and they see one hour of a twenty-four hour day. It’s a job, I just live my life, I do what I wanna do. As long as me and Joe are good, as long as my family is good, there’s nothing they can do to hurt me. Then I consider it good. There’s success that comes from it too. And whether the cameras are there or not, we’re not going to be perfect. Our family was like this before the cameras.”
Ahhh. Melissa has said they had problems before the show while Teresa continues to deny that. It is normal for inlaws to bicker doesn’t mean they should stop talking to each other. Let’s not forget that Melissa was at Teresa’s house warming party, Gia’s birthday, Audrianas christening. (all in season 1 and 2) Would she be invited to those things if their really were problems? Hmm…
What is the relationship with Teresa like right now?
Right now… we try. It’s always, like, up and down. The adults don’t see a lot of each other. I always go to everything that has to do with the kids. We’re trying to get through something. There’s some forgiving that needs to go on. Everybody’s a little upset. We just need some time. But we’ll get through it. I know we’ll get through it. That’s just how we are.
Teresa told AllAboutTRH back in January that she hasn’t spoken to Joe since the reunion. Reports have came out that Teresa and Mel haven’t spoken since Melissa came to Gia and Milania’s birthday without Joe Gorga.
Has it been helpful to have Kathy Wakile join the show with you?
Yes, of course. We didn’t know this world. I’m not from a world of hate. I’m happy for everyone. I’ve never felt that jealousy bug. We both were not like that, but to hear negative comments, at first I would take it to heart and so would she. And then as it went on, this is just what it is. We just started to ignore it. To be honest, Jacqueline too – and Caroline . Everyone kinda put their hand out and was like be careful, watch what you say, and helped lead the way. It was nice. I got along great with everyone. They were all so helpful; they were all so sweet. Jacqueline, was like, ‘Be ready…,’ but at the same time, it was scary. It’s part of the job. Teresa, was upset that I accepted the invitation to be on the show. So there was a lot of tension in the beginning. It wasn’t a pleasant time, to be honest with you. Teresa and I were not speaking before the show. Do you think that would have happened at the Christening if we were a happy family? By no means did we go behind anyone’s back to get on the show. Bravo is smart, they know exactly where you are. They did call me. It took me months to sign that paper, I did not want to do it. I told my husband I didn’t want do it. I left it up to him, because I told him ‘You know what, Joe – it’s your family’ Ultimately, Joe made the decision, because of the opportunity. He’s a go-getter, just like his sister.”
The reason they probably stopped speaking was due to the fact that Danielle Staub called out Teresa for not showing up to the hospital when her nephew was born in the season 2 reunion. Danielle knew this because Melissa told her via Facebook and Danielle brought it up to make Teresa mad. So if my sister in law did that, then signed up for a show when we’re not even speaking and didn’t tell me. I think I could talk for everyone when I say anyone would be upset. I just wish Melissa could just say she understands why Teresa would be upset with them instead of trying to justify it. Thoughts on the interview?

Nope, they always had a rocky relationship ever since Joey married Mel. Tre said do herself. Tre said things were fine between her and her brother until he got married. Tre said she also tried with Mel but Mel pushed her away. They have been feuding for 6 Years prior to Mel, Joey, and Kathy joining BUT their feud was NOTHING like how it is NOW! They know they were WRONG for joining the show to hurt super t! Teresa was NEVER the ONLY girl around… Joey had plenty of relationships and was engaged a few times. Their relationship couldn’t have been that bad because when Teresa was in the hospital having Audrianna she was on the phone with Joey and they were having a normal conversation that didn’t appear tense or fake at all. I also don’t think Teresa wants people to be ‘under’ her because in season 1 & 2 she didn’t mind taking a back seat and letting Caroline be the ‘boss’. I think everything Teresa did towards Melissa was in self defense, defending herself to an impostor that was trying to BE her, come between her family and bite her style. Teresa even had them at parties and included Joey on camera but Bravo didn’t air that footage. So nothing that you’re saying really makes any sense to me.
I completely believe Melissa that joe is the one that wanted to come on the show. He wants to be a housewife so bad it’s embarrassing. And it is understandable that she blamed Teresa for the stripper thing just as Danielle blamed Dina for the book. On their first seasons the girls never imagine that bravo is the one setting them up. They set up Danielle twice and now they’ve set up Melissa. I wonder who is next.
Not one doubt that Bravo was involved in the *set up* but then again…who cares??? Apparently it was not a secret that she either danced or bartended at that place??? I think Melissa desperately wanted to get on the show to showcase her singing career. She probably got Joey all worked up about it and how much money they could make, then digressed and said she wasn’t sure and that she would leave it up to him. I love this site, and am on here all the time reading up on all the wives and this is my first time posting.
I must start off by saying that I love love love RHONJ it is by far my most favorite show. I love all the girls that are on it (yes I did say all, lol). I love Theresa b/c she is so smart and fun and loves her family more than anything. I love Melissa b/c she is outgoing, loves her family as well. I don’t know if I like Caroline b/c of her or b/c of her sons, they crack me up. I like Jacq too, but she seems to hold herself back in front of the camera’s it seems, and Kathy her food always looks so delish, and her kids are very well mannered (in front of camera’s anyway’s). I guess I just wonder why everyone bashes all of them. like on this site seems like people bash everyone but Tre, and on the other site they only bash Tre. I guess I don’t understand why people hates Melis or Tre, I just love them both. I think there personalities crash and that is one of the reasons why they don’t see eye to eye. They both are very passionate about there family, and I think that’s where alot of the envy comes from. Tre doesn’t think Mels is good enough for her brother (and who can blame her) and Melis wants Joe to spend all of his time with her. I think they need to find a happy median and compromise on where they both stand in Joe’s life. I know they both have and done some hurtful things in the past to each other, and if they can just let that all go and just start all over with a clean slate I think they could actually have a wonderful relationship. I wish them both the best in this upcoming season, but most of all, I hope that they will get all there problems worked out and start season 5 out as a happy family and stay that way. But I know that in Bravo’s eyes that if there is no drama then there’s no interest in it, which I have to disagree with, b/c I think that 80% of people who watch the show would love to see this family reunite and love one another as a happy family. Welcome aboard Steph! Love your comment and I agree totally. RHONJ started off with a wonderful italian family dynamic and I feel they can recover if they’d drop all the BS. I don’t favor one lady over the other either. I don’t agree with the way they act but they all have personalities that keep me intrigued. I’ll keep watching and wishing all things resolved amongst this group of family and friends.
Just read in Jacqueline’s twitter of a follower passing. I felt Jac’s sincere compassion for the family and she attached the obituary. Another follower attached a poem for the bereaved and it has truly touched my heart. I’m in tears as I type this because I lost my 34 y/o sister unexpectedly as she fell from a hospital bed (where she was being evaluated for stomach pains) and died on the floor in front of my mother. 2 wks later, mother’s breast cancer would return and in April 2011, stage III breast cancer claimed the life of my wonderful mother; who fought strongly until the end. Technology allows us to interact with one another and it is truly a blessing. That’s why I try to always be conscious of my words and not judge or ridicule anyone (though I may have fallen short @ times). We do not know the complete story and are only allowed into the lives of these reality stars for a very small %. We are all with fault and were our lives displayed on camera, who’s to say how things would play out cause you can’t take it back once it’s out there. I’m imperfect…as we all are…but when I tell you guys that this has truly moved me this day….I speak truth! I miss my sis and mom. It’s hard living w/o them, but I’ve much to live for. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that there are real people receiving the words you are typing, then a tweet or post comes along that really strikes a chord with you. It’s good to see the sensitive side of Jac again, the side of her I loved and believe is still inside her. And I hope it gives you some small comfort to know that YOUR post really moved me.

If only the former Lookers employee, her husband Mr PW Joey, Kathy and Rich had come onto the show in a friendly loving manner the show would have been fun to watch. This season completly ruined it for me. Teresa is not perfect but there is no way she deserved everything that was handed to her this season. Most of the hate came in the form of her own family. NEVER once did the former Lookers employee or her husband take any responsibility for any of their own actions. Teresa’s best friend Jac starts condemning Teresa because she acts like everything is normal and will not discuss her personal problems on TV. I miss the fun times with Teresa and Jac. What happen to Don Caro telling all of us that Teresa was so much fun, a second Lucille Ball?

Does art imitates life or does life imitate art? If a tree falls in the woods… It’s all very perplexing and disturbing when one considers that what we are really talking about here is a reflection of the moral values that now define our culture.
I know that I firmly believe that Melissa Gorga is a ruthless, conniving, soul-sucking phony yet here I am taking the time to comment on her; what she does, what she says. I remember when Sandra Dee, Doris Day, Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn defined the culture for young women. Today it’s Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Kim Kardashian & Kompany that are the touchstone.
I know that in the sunnier days that have shone on the medium of television people thrived on shows that were as wholesome as mother’s milk. Just as the culture went from Hippie Idealism to Right Wing Dogma, we went from “Father Knows Best” where Mommy and the kids acted as though Daddy hung the moon to “Married With Children” where all Mommy talked about was how Daddy wasn’t hung and his moon always seemed just a drunken trouser-drop away.

The coarsening of our culture is easily reflected in the success of shows that celebrate conspicuous consumption, profligate waste and total self-absorption. Melissa serves as a symbol of the emptiness of a culture that values style (or what passes for it) over substance. She is a (some would say) prettily wrapped package with nothing of any value inside.
But no one should pay any real attention to me either for that matter. I’m just as much of a phony myself. I used to like to try and bullshit myself into believing I was serving some higher purpose as an observer of this sociological phenomenon that is ‘Reality TV.’ That I was a cultural warrior forcing myself to endure the experience in order to catalog the damage. But, I have seen the enemy and she is me. The truth is I’m just another viewer and as guilty as those I would indict. I decided resistance is futile and that I’m too old to fight the powers that be – every day all day. So I take my cuppa, plop myself down in front of the tube and try and forget that, ‘all in all I’m just another brick in the wall.’

Always well “said”. You are so right about Melissa. And Joe is the same. Whether he is blinded by love, lust or whatever, he adds fuel to the fire by attacking his sister too. Mel said in her interview that she only blocks people who attack her, calling her the “c” word. Not true. I’ve been blocked by both for merely asking them how they would feel if Tre trashed Mel’s family the way they trash her or how will they feel when their son calls their daughter “garbage”. If they think that is attacking, then perhaps there is a flicker of a conscience in there after all. Bottom line, children are taught to hate and fear. They are not innate emotions. What Melissa and Joe have said and done are now part of the public domain and will always be accessible on the Internet. When their children are old enough and can form their own opinions, what will they think about their parents? And when they see the photos (especially the one where Mel simulates oral sex on her husband in a room full of people laughing and clapping) what will her daughter think? This is normal? Does Mel want her daughter to emulate that? Tre, on the other hand, was dealt a hand by fate that she needed to either throw in the towel or get up and dance. That she is out there doing what she has to do to better her family’s situation is what I think makes her so popular. She is the personification of super woman. She is a great role model for her girls and for all us moms. We have all gone through tough times. Most of us behaved and continue to behave as Tre does. Tre may not be perfect, but it took guts to live out a low point in her life in the public domain and be graceful and not trash talk anyone. Yes, I am a proud Tre fan. Someone to emulate for sure.
I was blocked on facebook by Melissa for commenting on a lie she told. I just said that isn’t true and posted a comment about what the truth was and Melissa deleted my comment and blocked me on face book. Melissa does not like to be called out on her lies.

this woman seriously makes me crazy. She says she doesn’t want to point fingers, yet from the very beginning she has pointed fingers at Teresa; they all did. I’m so nervous for when the season starts in a couple weeks because I think Bravo is going to portray and edit to make Teresa the bad ugly witch and Melissa the innocent princess. The majority of the general public who watches the show most likely DON’T read all of the blogs like this one and will be swayed to believe the editing. I just have a very bad feeling that Teresa is going to get blindsided and ambushed.
I love how she says how positive it’s been, b/c she should think about her brother’s sister for a second, and think how negative it’s for Teresa. Teresa lost some fans (the bad ones), whereas Melissa gained some- there was none for her to lose to begin with. She gained Tre’s ex friends on the show (how nasty for family to do), and I, personally think she WAS a stripper, but I don’t see why she can’t admit it when she wears really small outfits anyway. And makes sense that Joe would date her if he met her stripping- not bartending. I need something clarified. Based on the above interview, Melissa mentions Joe visited her while she bartended. First of all, I thought she did that briefly, and secondly, I thought that she met Joe way after that? Did she meet him in college? I’ve read so many different stories-MG needs to get the story straight or stop bulls$hitting!
The former Lookers employee first told us that she only worked at a bikini bar for a few months then she supplied a pay register that showed she worked at Lookers for the entire year of 2003. Jan 1 through Dec. 31. She didn’t supply anything for 2002 or 2004 so we don’t know for sure if she work there in those years also.
The firmly believe that she was not a “stripper”. The correct term would be DANCER.

At the end of the day it is Melissa who will be the one with egg on her face when her house goes into foreclosure, she doesn’t get her music career going after all the money they have spent and when she and Joe get a divorce. This interview annoys me! I’m not Teresa’s biggest fan but I do think she has genuine love for her family & wants to see them back together even if her approach isn’t the best. Last season, I wasn’t sure if who was really trying more to reconcile, but it seemed like Melissa was. Now, I find Melissa trying to pretend to be this peacemaker who loves her family so much but constantly throws Teresa under the bus. Maybe people just don’t like you! I love everyone’s comments on here so far; we all get it and see MeGo’s lies are transparent. The ones in her interview that caught me the most were when she said:

This is interesting to me because I totally agree with her that if the allegation was true, she would be more upset than if it was a complete lie. That to me just PROVES that she danced at Lookers because she did get “nervous” and “frazzled” – in her words – or “enraged” and “vengeful” – in my words – when this all went down. According to Roxy’s interview with Angelo, when he walked up to her at the fashion show, “she looked like she recognized me and seemed very, very embarrassed and shocked.” According to other articles, Melissa went crazy and ran over to cry on Caroline and Jac’s shoulders about being set up by Teresa, and then called her husband over to get involved. Jac tweeted and Caroline stated at the reunion that “we were all very upset” about this. Afterwards, as rumors continued to swirl, she cut down anyone connected to them accusing them of having a “drug problem” and threatening legal actions. If that’s not actions admitting guilt and truth, then I don’t know what is!!!2. About the blogs/tweets: ” It seems like there’s this one little group, so I hear, that is just nasty and they’re huge Teresa fans. ”
I just love how she adds “so I hear” in there – as if she has never directly interacted with that particular group directly on Twitter. I know that’s not true since I have seen her arguments with several groups on Twitter. And of course, she goes out of her way to connect the “nasty” twitter people with Teresa. Then continues to directly call Teresa crazy; gotta get as many passive-aggressive digs in as possible!
This MeGo is a piece of work and although I truly do want to see reconciliation for Teresa’s whole family, it’s never going to be “kumbaya” with MeGo around. She is everything that she admonishes Teresa for – being jealous, fame-hungry, crazy, a liar, a manipulator, a strategist, a show-off, living outside her means, and wanting the spotlight and to be the center of attention. When this season airs it will be even harder for Teresa, but as long as she just keeps up her classy way of handling things, the smart viewers will see for themselves who the crazy ones are.

I like both Teresa and Melissa on the show for different reasons and it changes with each episode. I have flattered and battered both. Melissa told me she is a believer in karma, which I found to be interesting. She also told me she has only seen one or two episodes of Teresa on Celebrity Apprentice. For someone who is so big into karma, she does not seem to worry about her own which is fascinating. If we are to believe that family is the most important thing to her, I would expect her to be watching her sister-in-law on Celebrity Apprentice. Even if they were not getting along, that would be an even bigger reason to watch her, because you are hoping she fails. I do not believe that Melissa does not watch Celebrity Apprentice. I do however question her motives in lying about it. If she watches, she should be proud of her and say so. If she is not watching, then her stories of their family being intact are not true and there is lots of tension.”

I just read the ‘interview’ from the JJ. What interview??? It was summarized fluff about what a great mom and person Mego is. I didn’t really see a single question asked and answered completely. Sorry Illana, but I think you took the high road in your quest to ‘talk’ to Melissa and didn’t deliver on what most of your readers wanted, which was a frank, open discussion as to who MeGo really is and how she contradicts herself in her ‘message’ to different reporters (or bloggers). When Teresa agree to come back for season 3 and 4 she didn’t know that her brother, sil, cousin Kathy and Rich were part of the season. Teresa has said all season that they joined behind her back. I think if she knew that they were on the show and that they were only cast to “bring Teresa down” she may have walked away. Teresa never wanted and still doesn’t want her personal family problems made public. You never see Teresa talk badly about her brother. Teresa is not constantly in every magazine, newspaper and TV show trashing her brother. Teresa always trys to avoid answering any question about her family. Yet, I have NEVER seen a single article or interview with the former Lookers employee where she doesn’t have something to say about Teresa.

Can I just say that I thought I was alone!!! Teresa has always been my favorite (alongside Dina) and although I cringe at some of her retaliations, I can also completely understand them. I think anyone who has a rivalry or a distaste for a family member, should try to be compassionate towardsTeresa who now has 4 family members invading on every area of her life. Anyone who has any sort of success in their life SHOULD be prepared for the leeches that come out of the woodwork, this is a prime example, and horribly, the leeches and vermin are family. I’d also like to note that It’s amazing how many times we see the MEN! What is this housewives or housemen?!?! The only man I have not seen consistently- if at all, is Caroline’s husband.
