Melissa Gorga Previously Arrested For Shoplifting!
RHONJ star Melissa Gorga has quite the shady past and has recently been exposed for being arrested when she was 18 years old! That’s not all, there’s still a warrant out for Melissa’s arrest!
The documents obtained by Radar state that Melissa Marco was arrested on July 16, 1997 for “retail theft” in Palm Beach County, Florida. Melissa was 18 at the time and a warrant for her arrest was issued on October 8, 1997. Melissa failed to attend the arraignment on October 6 and the case is still apparently opened!
Melissa was very young when this happened and everyone makes mistakes but I’m also very young and I have never stole in my life.

If she left the state of Florida and went back to NJ before her appearance date and did not appear then the warrant was issued. States do not extradite for misdemeanors, it costs too much money. However, if, for some reason, she were in Florida and were pulled over, or arrested for another incident and her name was run, the warrant would pop up and she would have to answer for it.
She has an appearance at a swap meet in Florida this month. If she’s smart she’ll take care of this while she’s there.
If she sings, maybe she’ll get pinched for disturbing the peace.

There’s no statute of limitations when you skip out, otherwise every criminal would do it.
A warrant is a warrant-I work in law and warrants do not go away. Failing to appear in front of a judge is a huge disrespect to the system. If it were just a ticket, that would be a different story.
Failure to appear, “disrespecting a judge”, has no statute of limitation.
It is an OPEN WARRANT, which means they can arrest her butt, if she goes to the flea market, as scheduled on October 20/2012.

I think we all have a past,or at least a lot of us do. What bothers me is Melissa constantly trying to throw Teresa under the bus and always saying “Just own it”, to try and make Teresa seem shady/not a good person/bankrupt/marriage on the rocks etc….when in FACT she and Joey Marco are the shady ones. If a relative of mine spent that energy hating me, they would never see me again. Teresa, once again, comes out smelly like a rose. Everyone defending her is saying “we all do something when they are young.” Stupid, yes. I think this is worse than stripping because it shows character. Some people strip just to get by. Its an OPEN WARRENT, thus mean she was indited meaning no statue of limitations. Once you are formally charged it will stay poen until she takes care of it! Here in florida its called grand theft. Exactly. I think the biggest difference here is that Melissa didn’t take responsibility for her actions, whereas Teresa did. That to me shows a real lack of character in Melissa, and is the real issue. Everyone (or most people) have made mistakes or done something they are not proud of, but it is the way you handle yourself after the fact and take responsibility that shows a person’s true character. Just my opinion.

I haven’t seen anyone praising Joe for his Lunacy!As for her spending it was clear she bought her furniture with CASH! The bankruptcy came after Joe was sued by his partner and lost. It was an inelegant way of handling part of the payment of the fine levied against them.Chapter 13 allows you to pay off the fine at a lower rate then they person may have liked and protects your major assets.Like your house, cars ,and household goods. It means you don’t have sell everything you own to satisfy a judgment.
Bankruptcy does mean you have to declare all your assets, which the Guidices did not; that is why they were forced to withdraw the BK filing. While your primary residence, one or two of your cars, and most household goods are protected, vacation homes, additional cars and luxury items are not. Yes many Americans have been forced to declare bankruptcy as a last resort; but not many have 2 vacation homes and other assets to fall back on while claiming the inability to pay their debts.
Stealing is a crime and should be prosecuted, but make no mistake withholding assets so you can claim Bankruptcy and have your debts forgiven or partially forgiven, is also a crime.

It depends. There are many assets which are BK remote. Further, monies made post filing are not part of the BK estate. Everything in BK depends. It s a facts and circumstances test.

Correct, unfortunately for the Guidices some of the property they chose not to declare were their shore and mountain homes, which as we all know were shown on the show. It seems the BK judge chose to question their entire declaration of assets instead of allowing them to ammend their filing or the Guidices chose to withdraw and not place their property at risk. Either way, by not fully disclosing assets their entire filing was suspect.

Shiks – Now that New York is winding down you should give RH Miami a try. Ive been watching & its good. The houses are gorgeous & the location shots are beautiful. But what I like most is i can just watch for entertainment & not be so invested in the cast as NJ has drained me. Sure, theres some cattiness going on…but nothing like NJ.

People always bring T’s bankruptcy- its out there. But what has bothered me all season is that the others always target things like that with Teresa , not watching the stones they throw as they ALL have financial problems/lawsuits, etc. They make themselves appear to be different, innocent, not lacking any moral decency when in fact, they are worse because they lie so horribly and are hypocritical! Am I perfect? Absolutely not. But I know the difference between a mistake and an intentional act. Lying, cheating, stealing or violently attacking someone are all intentional. You know before you do it that it is wrong.
As a society I wish we would stop using youth as a reason to excuse bad behavior. Ever have a conversation with a 5 year old? They are well aware of right & wrong.
While I don’t think Melissa should be severely punished, she did this now go handle it. But let’s not excuse it as young people are incapable of making sound decisions. An 18 yo without a rap sheet isn’t rare, it’s the norm.
The thing is (and I am in no way implying this is the case), we cannot see if she has priors as a minor. She had only been 18 for four months when this happened. In some states you can see someone’s record starting at 17, I do not know about Florida. This could be a very BIG deal. Time will tell, I guess.

Actually it wouldn’t go that way. If teresa was showing herself to be a dishonest person by getting on the show behind her families back and then trying to destroy them and on top of that we found out that she has an open warrant for stealing , you would get the same response that a majority of us are giving melissa. Melissa has shown so much dishonesty in her character that this just takes the cake and she has absolutely no credibility. On one hand, I feel that his recent tweets are an effort by the Marco sisters to push back against the criticism expressed previously that they control Joe’s account and use it as a weapon to inflict unnecessary pain on Teresa with pointed jabs about who he really regards as his family. On the other hand, by doing so, Joe now seems excessively crude, unfunny, and downright unlikeable. I feel he is trying to mimic Joe Giudice’s attitude- “I don’t give a fuck. I really don’t.” However, viewers have been accustomed to a Joe Gorga who deeply cares, promotes himself as a family man, torn asunder by his sister’s inability to cooperate with his wife, a man who enjoys having harmless fun. I tried to figure out why it says felony/misdemeanor, but could not really get a definitive answer. I know in some states failure to appear automatically becomes a felony but that does not seem to be the case in Florida. So, I someone knows please explain!!
Usually stealing something with a value over $100 (which isn’t much) makes it a felony. I was thinking, but could be wrong, that the misd could be the failure to appear (contempt of court) charge. So there are probably two charges against her.

I’m not an American, but up here in Canada your passport is only valid for five years.
When it was time to renew, you had to start from scratch, with a new application.
They have changed it in the last year and a half, and now we can renew, instead of reapplying from scratch. Whether it is a renewal, or a new application, we have ALWAYS, and still do, have to pass a criminal background check, each time.

FYI 18 isn’t a child anymore. She was an ADULT. Period. And most children have the whole “Do not steal” rule ingrained in them by the time they’re 10.
Well, according the Palm Beach County’s CofC records, her step father made a notice of appearance for her in 2001 and there was some sort of action in October of 2006. So this little transgression has been ongoing and she knew it was there to clear up. AND, if in fact it is a misdemeanor, a quick trip to FL with an attorney next to her side would have taken care of that “record” in a heartbeat along with an expunged record.
She had to have step-daddy appeal for her in court, she had to call Joe because some guy stopped by the table at PFS and said hello. Does she take any responsibility for herself at all?????

Here’s what will happen. If Melissa is ever arrested, they’ll look at the warrant and refuse her bail. She’s not is any serious trouble with this current warrant, but like I said, she’ll never be given a bail hearing. She’ll have to stay in jail until her court hearing.
She better hope she isn’t arrested for drinking and driving. She’ll be in jail for at least one month before it even goes to court.
