Hi michers, I agree with you she’s without a doubt trying to impersonate JLo. I do like the song it’s decent. However I prefer to hear her and not the auto tune. If you have seen my posts you know I can’t stand her and i’m team teresa. I gotta give her credit for effort. I hardly doubt any of her music will go far since she can’t sing well enough to land a major record label. She know’s it so she’s settled for trying to do it herself. I will say that she is persistent. If I had a choice to go see her or Teresa it would be teresa hands down.

Someone with real talent and a career oriented mind, with real skills, already has been discovered and does not just pop out of this show. I agree- will not get far in music industry. Hey Michers I agree with you I to was expecting her to do more than just put her arm up to her face and flip her hair. I watched the video again it seems like we got more singing and dance moves out of the guy singing in the video than Melissa. Her song is pretty good with auto tune but would be better if she just sang the song herself with no help. I think without this guy in the song it really wouldn’t be much of anything. This was horrible, truly horrible. First of all you can tell she can’t dance because for one they keep the camera showing her upper torso and when they do show her full body while singing they are there for a second and then cut to the other dancers all the time. And for the video to be about her and her song it should stay longer on what she is trying to project. Also the autotuning is drowning out the rapper and parts of her voice. Who ever did this video must have been a hack, the sounds weren’t distinct with the music and it all sounded like a garble.

I have heard Usher sing, live and its still pretty good. Lil Wayne does not sing, bless his heart! I am a fan of some of his work. He is very talented ( minus his little marijuana issues) as an “artist”.. but he talks/raps. Melissa is not talented, she is not an artist- point blank, period. I agree with you teresa. I only got into real housewives this year and when I realized it was melissas song I had downloaded I was suprised. Because I actully loved the song on display. And now that I know her songs I notice when the djs remix them into their sets. Being a club/house/breakbeat/vocal techno connoisseur (lol) I can recognize a good track when I hear one.

I have never heard the words “bikini bar” until Melissa said them. Is she trying to make it sound more like Hooters, like Kathy implied? Because if that’s what she’s trying to do then she is lying her ass off and is a fool to think that anyone won’t Google Lookers and find out what it actually is. It’s a STRIP club. She also – a year ago – tried to make the distinction that in NJ, it is illegal for an establishment to serve alcohol and allow nudity. Therefore, since Lookers serves alcohol it cannot allow nudity. What she failed to mention was that an establishment cannot allow FULL nudity if it serves alcohol. So the Lookers girls can be wearing nothing but a g-string and still serve alcohol and no laws are being broken. She forgot to mention that part.

Truthfully, I don’t give a CRAP what she did at Lookers. It’s the fact that SHE is the one making such a big deal over people “exposing” what she allegedly did there that pisses me off. If it came out that she worked there, all she had to say was “yeah, I bartended” or better yet “yeah, I danced…big deal”. END OF STORY. But it was Melissa who cried, went along with the “set up” nonsense, got her fists-of-fury husband involved, got her lawyer involved, gave paystubs to Roxy, threatened lawsuits, a year later is going on a media victim tour about it, and a whole other bunch of bull shit. If none of these allegations had any scent of truth, she would have laughed at the absurdity and forgotten about them. Look how many of Tre’s fans actually BUY her products (Tre bashers can hate her but facts are facts and Andy has admitted on twitter and recently on WWHL that besides Bethany, Tre has sold more books and products, and has more product endorsements than any other current Housewive, period.) Melissa made the wrong choice and picked the wrong team and shot herself in the foot.
Happyday you are so right! I also think that melissa thought that her tactic would of launched her career and further than Teresa. I also believe that she really thought if she was sneaky about hating her and doing everything to show that she was the outed sister in law trying to bring her family closer would of put Teresa in a bad light with the fans and that by doing this people would feel bad for her and stop being Teresa fans. The problem with this is people are smarter than that and it wasn’t hard for us to see through melissa tactics. First her sliding into Teresa’s friendships with jac and caroline was a big mistake. If she admitted she worked at Looker’s Gentlemen’s Club, and laughed it off rather than thinking Teresa was giving her a taste of her own medicine, thne I may enjoy her and her music. Now, I 100% believe she was a stripper pre-Gorgaworld but I have to wonder after seeing this video- How the hell did Melissa pull off the dancing part of her stripper job? To be perfectly honest, I think it would be a decent club song for a 20 year old. A 33 year old mom of 3? It seems like she’s trying to be younger than she is. It’s a bit too autotuned for me but most dance songs are so that’s not that big a deal. It’s the lyrics she’s singing about drama in a club…who is still clubbing like that at her age? I think it’s embarrassing.
I agree with you. I’m a 30 year old married mom of 3(who still looks pretty decent, lmao) and the last thing I’m thinking about is going to club…and especially NOT having drama in that club! I’d much rather be at home with my family. I also get that she’s trying to make money off all of this…but I feel like if you were given such a great opportunity (as she calls it) why not branch out in a different way? Why go to all these clubs and stuff? Why go that direction?

Just as I listened to the song twice, I watched it twice to give it a fair opinion. Thoughts:
1. Who is this Santino dude? The lip pierce was really not cute (and as some posters upthread said, very herpes-ish). Dude seems to have borrowed the worst of Adam Lambert’s test looks.
2. WAY better than Luann’s “Chic C’est La Vie.”
3. For a song that’s about dancing, Melissa doesn’t do it very well. She moves from pose to pose- is as if she’s doing cheerleading moves, and there’s no fluidity. She doesn’t get down and bring it the way JLo (or Gia) can.
4. Did she purposely hire ugly backup dancers to be the thinnest/prettiest in the video?
5. The neon background shots were very “karaoke at the mall”. Pretty low-budget special effects (especially compared to the relatively nice club space).
6. Too many shots from the waist up. This video needed to prove she can dance, and those shots don’t do it.
7. Except for the Fly Girl bustier, her wardrobe styling is cute. Melissa has a rockin’ body.
Given that my expectations weren’t very high, I’d say this is a good first effort- styling, cinematography. The song sn’t totally bad (just cliché drama themed), and neither is this video. It’s shot flatteringly, but girl needs to actually dance instead of randomly throwing her hair back and step-posing.
And now, I’m going to go watch Kylie Minogue’s “Spinning Around” and JLo’s “Waiting For Tonight”.
Regarding question #4, I was wondering that very same thing. Is Melissa insecure with her own looks that she had to make certain her backup dancers didn’t stand out?
It looks like slightly larger, not-as-comparatively pretty dancers who don’t have professional video experience were purposely chosen. Don’t know who cast the backups or if it was done to satisfy any insecurity of Melissa’s, but whoever did it seemed to choose people that wouldn’t capture the attention away from her. (And, a prettier girl with badass ballet or hip-hop expertise would have.)
I think this proves she never was a stripper bc she doesnt have a sexy dance bone in her body and she certainly looks like she lacks confidence in her body and moves. I also dont see where her clothes were all that revealing consideringshe actually has an awesoem figure. And I know people who are strippers and have went to strip clubs and the women there CAN move and actually have rhythm. But i agree with most of your observations
You do not have to be a flipping professional dancer to work in a bikini club or strip club! UMM, I don’t think they are waiting on Juliard graduates to walk through the door. Pretty sure the only thing required are tits. And hate to burst your bubble, but not all “dancers” in a strip club have rhythm and can “move”. Messy does have a nice figure- thats the only good thing she has.

how sad, does she realize she is the mother of 3 singing about being in the club? you gave up the dream of being JLo when you gave birth to your kids.
I have a lot of thoughts about this. And I know I tend to get wordy with my comments so I apologize in advance for this but I’ve been holding this back for two years.
First, I actually thought it was not horrendous. The song is somewhat catchy but it’s just a dance tune, typical club stuff. I give Melissa credit for her effort. I say this because I know how much effort goes into pursing a career in performing as I have done it myself. But that also makes me extremely critical when I watch other people perform and as such, very hard to please.
Melissa is not a singer. Not by any stretch. She has an average voice and she can carry a tune most of the time. But in order to sound outstanding, or worthy of being recorded, she needs voice correction software and the benefit of over-production. A REAL singer is able to sing a capella and bring chills to her audience (Adele, for example, is a real singer).
Melissa is not a dancer either. Of this I am HIGHLY critical because I have over two decades of intensive dance training and an extremely discerning eye when it comes to watching others dance. She should just stop. I won’t even say anything else because it’s not necessary.
Melissa and I are the same age. She’s five months older than I am. I worked my ass off as a kid training my voice and my body HARD to learn how to sing and dance properly. I lived and breathed these things as an adolescent and a teenager. Even during college and into my twenties, I was still performing, training AND auditioning. In and out of NYC constantly, honing my craft. In my mid-twenties I began working the NYC club circuit for a few years. Flat busted broke but loving every minute, working in these tiny clubs that some of the greatest legends of our time once performed in – Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan. Until I finally got sick…physically sick and exhausted and could not keep up the pace of having a full time job, writing shows, rehearsing music, going to vocal lessons every Saturday afternoon and then straight to a show every Saturday night. I burned myself out and I stopped. That was six years ago.
My point is…I would LOVE to be afforded a second chance to go after my dream at age 33 – to have a HUGE platform from which to launch my career the way Melissa has. Because unlike her, I actually DID the work to back up my dream. To me, it seems like she just wants to be famous, she doesn’t care HOW she is famous, she just wants the fame and she knows RHONJ won’t go on forever. So music is her back up plan because she knows she’s an okay singer. That is an enormous slap in the face to starving artists who are ACTUAL singers, ACTUAL dancers, people who have put in the legwork.
I had so much fun working in those tiny NYC clubs. Just being on a stage was enough, I didn’t care how big the stage was or how many people were in the audience. Remember when Melissa was getting ready for the single release party for “On Display”? And she made that comment about how crappy and small the venue was… That was like a knife through my heart and it told me EVERYTHING I needed to know about her. She just wants to be famous. She doesn’t care what she does to be famous or what she HAS to do to accomplish it. She just wants that spotlight on HER. And if you keep that in mind and then go back and look at all her words and all her behaviors, everything makes sense.
Great comment. Melissa clearly has a lot of confidence in her ability to entertain, from singing to dancing to acting. And her efforts, to me, are sometimes terrible and sometimes mediocre. It has to be frustrating that the only real interest that people have in her is her relationship with Teresa.
For me, this season has hooked me like no other HW show has before. I find the story so compelling, although I dislike watching the show.
I don’t like Melissa because I see right through her. Most of us have had one of her type in our life. She is the friend, sister, sister in law, co worker, etc… who has made every attempt to carefully curate a perfect image, but the moment she doesn’t have to be “on” you see someone who is unimaginably nasty and sociopathic. Teresa, as best as I can tell, can be a little self-involved, can be a tad ignorant about certain things, and doesn’t have the ability to let things roll off her back. But Teresa is also authentic, intelligent in many ways, and has a good heart. And I think Teresa will end up on top, despite the sabotage that she has experienced from so many different sources. I suspect that, while it may appear that Melissa has won, she is actually the loser in this. She knows the fame she has relies on Teresa. There simply would be no show without her. There are still skeletons in her closet. Teresa is free. It has all been put out on the table and rehashed over and over. She didn’t tuck tail just because Caroline told her that she should. Instead she continues to go out in the public and smile and try to make a living.
Oh, and you know what? Good on her if she hired a ghostwriter for her blogs, though i suspect she hired more of an editor than an actual ghostwriter. Sometimes our biggest strength is knowing our weaknesses.
Other random thoughts… Do you think she is really in love with Joey? I’ve never paid much attention to the whole gold digger accusation because it is the sort of thing you can never definitively know, but I do find it hard to imagine that anybody could really be into him. That’s just me and he’s not my type so I’m curious to what other people think.

Yeah the ghostwriter thing does not compare to being a shady liar with a dirty background/history! There are bigger fish to fry with this cast outside of a ghostwriter!!! Im not sure if she is in love with him, or she was in love with the ideas of what life with him could bring her, plus she loves herself too much to love anyone else, IMO. Look if she was a real down to earth decent person, there would not be any conflict with her; no sketchy past, no icky stories about her, so there is definitely something off with her and after all of this mess, I have no doubt she is a gold digging liar.

To answer your question Bren, I guess I can’t say for sure if I think Melissa is in love with Joey. But I do have a theory and I have a reasoning behind it so stick with me for a minute…
She is definitely in love with the idea of life with Joe and what he provides for her. When she speaks about him, she only references the things he has given her in a material sense and their children. Each time she discusses their marriage, she gestures around herself as if to say “Look at what Joe has provided for me”. I do think I remember her once saying that she loves him. But mostly the impression I get is that she appreciates the big house, the cars, the clothes, the parties, the Rolexes hanging from the Christmas tree, the vacations, the shore house, that kind of stuff. She certainly is in love with being well kept and spoiled (she said so herself “I tend to be very spoiled”…being spoiled is not a tendency, it happens as the result of a demand being met).
Another telling sign that she is more into the status of her marriage than her actual marriage was her tag line for season 3:
“I live a life that most girls only dream of”.
Straight out of the gate she was implying that her entire life is something that other girls see and wish they could have. When you break it down, it’s actually an insult. Because the ONLY things that should matter is that she is healthy, happy and has a loving husband and three beautiful children (in fact, that is EXACTLY what Teresa is constantly repeating that she is thankful for and always has since season 1). So Melissa is insinuating that most other women don’t have that? She’s wrong. Most people DO have that. Let’s take it a step further then. What else does she have that she thinks other people might wish they had? Oh right…the big house, the cars, the clothes, the parties, the Rolexes hanging from the Christmas tree… Kind of proves my point, doesn’t it?
And just by her tag line alone, she proves that she is more into her lifestyle than she is into her marriage. Funny how words can work like that, isn’t it?
I’ve also seen right through Melissa since the day she appeared on my TV screen. To me, it is SO obvious that Melissa is driven by pure, blind jealousy fueled by her almost textbook Narcissistic Personality Disorder that it is almost laughable for people to try and dispute it. Yes, Teresa can be self-involved at times but it is NOT the same thing as Melissa’s clear case of NPD.
NPD begins most of the time in childhood when a person receives constant, excessive praise and attention (usually from the family) with no negative/neutral feedback to balance it out. (Melissa has admitted – not realizing that she was diagnosing herself – that her family did exactly this to her when she was a child. Her parents and sisters constantly told her how friggin fantastic she was at all times, always had a camera on her.)
As a result, the person does not develop a realistic perception of herself. Instead, she thinks that she truly is the inflated version of herself that everyone has always expressed to her.
In adulthood, NPD manifests as a hyper-inflated sense of self in nearly EVERY way: beauty, intelligence, talent, achievement, skill set, etc. The narcissist thinks that she is the best at everything she does or attempts to do. She also MUST be the center of attention and cannot tolerate anyone around her being the recipient of praise or attention. Everything becomes a competition to her. (Explains why she copies everything Teresa does – she has to show everyone that SHE can do it better.)
Narcissists are obsessed with themselves, speak highly of themselves, they don’t care if they hurt others to achieve their goals (and they often set unrealistic goals like becoming a pop star at age 33 because they think they can achieve anything due to their inflated self-perception).
Even her marriage to Joe is a symptom of her NPD – having to have the best of everything in life. Narcissists think they are entitled to only the cream of the crop because they ARE the cream of the crop. And people who are beneath them should be jealous of this (“I live a life that most girls only dream of” remember?).
Melissa is a COMPLETE narcissist in every sense of the word. The other very sad and startling thing about narcissists though, is that they lack ANY empathy whatsoever. They cannot feel the feelings of others. So they are willing to do ANYTHING to accomplish their own self-serving goals. In Melissa’s case, that goal is fame. At all costs. And the cost is destroying Teresa who is in the way. And her own husband’s family.
Totally agree. Many have said that kandi is the only truly talented housewife, and I tend to agree. Keeping that in mind, it is interesting to see how Kandi presents it versus how Melissa presents it. I didn’t watch the last season of ATL but it always seemed to me that Kandi presented it as a lot of hard, non-glamorous work with the potential of some pay off at the end. It seems to me that Melissa only focuses on the flashy side of the business. I think it would have been humbling for Melissa to have to pursue this the old fashioned way. But instead she decided she wanted to be a star so no expense was spared in building a studio, hiring yes people to work with her, a personal (somewhat famous) choreographer to teach her to dance when she should have been in beginner classes.
I can see why Gia has the attitude about her. Gia has probably heard some of it from her parents but there is also a lot of grumbling going on in Jersey entertainment circles and she’s probably caught onto it. Im sure her teachers put a lot of emphasis in the importance of hard work, and she sees that Mel isnt putting in the work. People act like T is a stage mom but I don’t agree. She doesn’t excessively glorify what Gia does, she merely presents it as part of their life and something she is proud of Gia for. Gia might have some advantages, but that little girl works hard.
Bren, ITA about Gia. Obviously, having grown up in the world of competitive dance, I KNOW what a stage mom is. Teresa Giudice is NOT a stage mom. You are right that she just encourages Gia to do what she knows her daughter already loves but the motivation comes from Gia, not pushed by Teresa. And Gia is a very talented dancer and she works extremely hard – at age 11 she works harder than her 33 year old entitled aunt does which is shameful really.
I like the Kandi/Melissa comparison because it illustrates our point perfectly. Kandi clearly paid her dues coming up through the music industry. Kandi is a true artist and musician and she has worked hard her whole life because she loves what she does. She understands the value of hard work, she’s disciplined, and she doesn’t mind putting in the effort because it makes the reward so much sweeter.
These are concepts that Melissa just refuses to acknowledge. The part about the hard work making the pay off more satisfying. That doesn’t click with her because her ultimate goal is just fame and singing is simply the vehicle to get her there. Don’t get me wrong, it is fine if a performer aspires to be famous. Most of the time we do, it makes sense. But you HAVE to be willing to do the work. And believe me when I say that singers and dancers (real ones) LOVE doing the work because it isn’t work to us. If preforming is in your soul, dedicating time to your craft is something that brings you joy like nothing else can. Putting the work in should be a pleasure to Melissa if she really loves it. The fact that she’s skipping that part tells me that she doesn’t actually love it like she says she does (that explains why Teresa said she had never heard Melissa sing before…because Melissa is not a dedicated singer, she just has a mediocre voice and thinks she can ride her RHONJ wave to Britney Spears megastardom, she doesn’t take voice lessons or sing in a choir or anything. Teresa was right!). But the fact that she THINKS she’s such a good singer therefore doesn’t NEED to do the work (for example, like I said taking vocal lessons) is yet another symptom of her Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
When I was still singing I had an outstanding vocal coach in NYC. One of his other clients was Liza Minnelli who you’d think at this point in her highly esteemed career doesn’t need lessons but she still takes them. 66 years old, an Academy Award, an Emmy, a Golden Globe, a Grammy (plus she’s in the Grammy Hall of Fame), 4 Tonys…and Liza Minnelli STILL takes voice lessons. Melissa Gorga does not. Why? She doesn’t think she needs them because she is a narcissist.
But she had that fancy, flashy studio built in her home. She spares no expense on her friggin makeup or her outfits or hair. She hires people to write songs with/for her and even more people to produce them. Like you said Bren, she hires a semi-well known choreographer to put a routine together for her when she SHOULD be hoofing it in a dance class and getting some technique under her belt.
For Melissa it’s all about what we see on the exterior, the image. There is no content inside, no real goods that she’s selling, no great talent to be discovered once you unwrap her. She is all packaging and no product. And it’s because she spends her efforts on trying to be famous rather than trying to be a singer.
Bren , you are right about Kandi. She has accomplished a lot musically by herself and through helping others’ with their success.
I do not see T as a stage mom, I see her as truly trying to make her kids feel special and she supports them!
Cara- I cannot stand Messy Marco and this latest piece really had me on overdrive with annoyance, lol! Im sick of this fake posing lying wench !What is sad , is that there are millions of talented people in this country and this witch has her hubby and Bravo throw bones and she gets an undeserved start in this business! Cara- thanks for breaking it down, and I think you say it best: all packaging, no product. I’ve had roommates who were dedicated to pursuing dance as their dream, and it was class after class, adhering to a disciplined diet, and scraping by on a thin budget to make it all work. Inevitably, the dream didn’t work out for some, but they paid their dues throughout. The only thing I see Melissa gunning for is Britney Spears stardom, but even Britney did her time as a child. Melissa doesn’t take dance or singing classes, but expects the rewards without doing her time in the trenches.

Thanks DJ xo. And the thing is I always only did it for the love of the craft. Why else would I schlep a 50 lb bag of sheet music, makeup and clothes into the city every weekend? For the work out? I never cared about making mega-money or getting super famous. I just love singing THAT much that I did the grunt work to be able to sing songs in my little clubs and I was more than happy to do it. It was an honor actually when you consider the history of some of those places.
My goal was to one day be able to make a steady career out of it. To pay my bills and do what I love for a living so that I didn’t have to schlep anymore. That’s all.
Being ruthless won’t get her very far. It might help her accomplish small goals but not big ones because we already see her trying to take people down along the way to get what she wants. She’ll stop at nothing. Eventually she will cross the wrong person and she will end her own career. You can’t be that way and expect people to bow to your whims all the time. People remember you and what you are like and they won’t do you favors the next time you come in contact with them. It would be much more in her interest to be nice to people and make some friends, treat people kindly, treat EVERYONE kindly. That way she can be sure that she actually HAS friends once she accomplishes what she wants rather than people who want to take HER down (like what she’s trying to do now). She’ll see. She’s not going to get anywhere behaving the way she does.

Melissa sucks at being a mother too. She’s isolating her daughter from her cousins just to get back at their mother. That’s not something a caring mother would do.

On the Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion, Teresa Giudice claimed that Melissa Gorga’s “On Display” was written about her. Melissa sarcastically shot that down. It seems Teresa may not be far off though, according to a Twitter exchange between RumorFix correspondent Real Mr. Housewife and Santino Noir, the singer who is featured on Melissa’s new song “I Just Wanna.”
In “I Just Wanna,” Melissa sings lyrics, such as “I know you’re threatened by me as you’re falling behind me,” and “I hear you talking loud … gonna let the music drown you out,” which seems to allude to none other than her sister-in-law Teresa.
On the track, Santino raps, “Yeah baby call me rubber and I’ll just call you glue. Now just put your hands over your mouth, so that it stick to you. Yeah keep your mouth shut while I’m strutting dangerous, because your silence is golden” which also seem to allude to Teresa’s current situation.
When asked on Twitter if the song was about Teresa, Santino responded “lol I may have drawn some inspiration from their situation.” This is very interesting, especially considering Melissa shot down Teresa’s claim about her songs being about her at the reunion.
You should take this off and stop giving her hits. She sucks.

There is an interesting story over on Absurd To Sublime (A2S) that Chris Laurita is trying to limit Jacqueline’s liability in the 55M lawsuit against them by showing “diminished capacity”.
It would explain why she is acting crazy on twitter. Key word “acting” crazy. Looks like she is trying to get people to say she is crazy so she can get out of being prosecuted for her share in stripping Signature Apparel of it’s assets!!!!
She is so much like Taylor Armstrong! Remember when Taylor was showing up drunk on camera and almost every day there was a story in the blogs and gossip rags about her being drunk and causing a scene. She was doing that to try and get out of appearing in court for her scam on MMR. She would have probably entered rehab to get out of it.
But, when MMR settled instead of going to trial, notice that there were no more stories of her getting drunk?
