I TOTALLY agree Camm – as much as she annoys me, I AM rooting for her. However, those liquid diets almost never help ppl KEEP weight off long term. None of these extreme diets are good because as soon as you start eating, as you said, real FOOD or half-way normally again, you blow up. Unless she’s prepared to have a VERY restrictive diet with VERY few calories for the REST OF HER LIFE, she’s going to put the weight back on. Caroline being a woman of um…advanced years ought to have a few pearls of insight about this subject to offer her daughter. Oops, I forgot, she’s always been tiny! I’m not tiny, not huge, but I definitely had weight to lose and it took me a very long time to realize and accept I just had to change my diet PERMANENTLY to simply ” healthy”. The downside to that is weight loss takes MUCH longer than it would if you went on a super restrictive diet – YEARS sometimes, it comes off a pound here, a pound there. The upside is, it’s not painful and it stays OFF.
And P.S. – it didn’t cost me a cent.
I bet she will end up even fatter than before…Though i think she got lapband. It runs in the family.

She totally got the lap band – remember there hasn’t been that much time since filming the last season. Caroline, Al, and NOW Lauren got the lap band, and now she’s announcing she can’t say how because she’ s still under contract. What the hell is that supposed to mean? It doesn’t matter, because she is the epitome of a mean girl just like Mama C.
I truly hope she keeps the weight off. I hope she lost it in a healthy way. I am not a fan of liquid diets. I hope she will use portion control and exercise to stablize her weight.

According to Lauren’s article it was her easy way out. She said it right in there. I wanted to eat real food hated egg white diet.
She’s so young! Why have lap band surgery? Her mother probably made her do it since CaroClown did it too. Lauren is TOO LAZY to eat right, and work out every now n then. Lauren is young, and she should EXERCISE while she’s still young. Idk. Even though she lost weight, she’s still sort of big to me. Why not eat healthier, and eat smaller portions? I don’t like her behavior, and her attitude and soul is blacker than charcoal. Like mother, like daughter! She’s a horrible person, and getting the lap band at a very young age isn’t good. It’ll affect her later, and then she’ll be sorry! What a stupid girl! She needs to workout with me! Lol. I’ll push her to workout hard! Then again, she’ll probably give up before she even starts. Isabella, you have no concept whatsoever about why people overeat. Most overweight people are emotional eaters. If you lived in a house where everyone, including your mother dogged you about your weight, you would understand. It is a vicious cycle-you eat because you are emotional or upset or depressed, and then those feelings continue because you beat yourself up over using food for comfort. Have some compassion for others. Don’t judge until you have walked in their shoes.
America is Obese because there is no sense of regulation and moderation with food. No one prepares food. French women are thinner because they cook, it smaller portions and exercise more.
Emotional eating is a cop out. If it were true all fat people are emotional eaters, then it would be a homogenous number through all societies. It isn’t this is cultural.
Make choices in how you eat.
When you are truly an ugly person on the inside, you will always be ugly on the outside…. Lauren is ugly.

Absolutely right, Cammierari. Those extremely low cal diets destroy your metabolism and throw your hormonal system into chaos. She needs to get to the root of her food issues. If she doesn’t, she’ll gain it all back and then some.
I also agree that she is hard to root for. I guess we can only hope that the boost in her self image will produce some positive changes in her personality. She’s still young so there is a chance, but I’m not betting on it. She is too much like her mother.

I bet the stress of dealing with her mother and being the least favorite child contributes a lot to her food issues. Not only is Caroline mean, she’s clearly in competition with her daughter with all her “Lauren’s a fatty, I have a body like Melissa’s” bs. That can’t be easy, especially when Caroline sabotages her by cooking her favorite foods and grinning while everyone moos at her.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure she said she used to have a body like Melissa’s in one of her interview clips. That’s why I kind of feel sorry for Lauren. As nasty as she is, she probably is desperate for her Mother’s approval and thinks getting on the hate train is the only way to get it.
Um look at her arms… She didn’t work out. No matter how skinny one gets if you dont lift weight you have fat girl arms!! Im not impressed. Neither is Vito, when she takes her clothes off… Just sayin, if you want to lose weight it’s easy! Stop doing everything you are doing(eating) now, cut it in half and take a pill to speed up ur metabolism. If you want to keep weight off you have to have some sort of work out routine. It takes 21 days to make a habit, working out feels good to the body and mind. This bitch could do both..

Its sad because she was tormented constantly and humiliated by her family on tv, and she didn’t mind it! Whats baffling to me is that her arms are still big and her face still looks kind of puffy.. A lot of people lose it in their face first I thought? And if she is doing a non healthy lose weight quick gimmick, it won’t stay off , unless she gets surgery like other family members.
I don’t see a big difference either, perhaps the camera angle. But, she ain’t no size 4 or 6, unless the sales person is lying to her.
I can see a big difference in her face. But her arms tell me she didn’t exercise very much. It’s not advisable to do a low cal diet and kill it in the gym.

Maybe she was a mean witch because she was so unhappy with herself and was feeling angry and bitter. I am hopeful that the weight loss will be encouraging for her and she won’t feel the need to bring those she is jealous of, down a peg. I thought she was really pretty in season 1 and not bad in season 2… I think she looks great now, especially with her hair the way she has it. I just hope her bitterness melted away with the fat.

Oh, calm yourself. She should know that 15 minutes of reality tv fame means opening yourself up to judgement and harsh criticism by the viewing public. Plus, she’s often shown calling people nasty names and being extremely condescending & negative. That doesn’t help her cause.

I am calm… I just find it really hypocritical for people to accuse her of name calling and being evil all the while calling her names. You say she deserves it…but wouldn’t that mean that the people bashing Lauren deserved to be bashed as well. If you calmed down for a second, you’d have read the part about, she’s opened her self up to harsh criticism by being on reality TV. It’s part of the gig.
I’m giving you a hard time, because WHAT are you doing on a blog site if you’re going to get up in arms when people saying harsh things about a reality tv show cast member?(And in case you are missing this point I am beating to death: reality TV stars are putting themselves out there for attention, both negative and positive!! Others called her names because that is what people do on blog sites!!! Have you read the things that are written about the other housewives? Read any other blog sites about celebs or realty tv personalities. If you have been equally shocked and outraged, you should know the drill. The comments made are a like polling. What do people think of the persona you project publicly. In Lauren’s case it’s not good.. We do not know these people personally. We respond to their public persona. So I am commenting on your outrage over something that happens over and over again in celeb blogging.
I get that two wrongs don’t make a right. Of course it doesn’t and no the comments about Lauren aren’t nice. The take away from these comments should be that these people do not like Lauren. Also, as Jerseygirl said, Lauren not only gives as good as she gets via twitter and other places, but SHE engages the most vile, evil posters instead of just ignoring or blocking them. SHE is known to get into long exchanges with ppl saying things like ” Eat your aunt’s p*ssy!”. This is the Manzo family MO. Why? My guess is because if you draw attention to ppl attacking you who are clearly illiterate, vulgar or just plain crazy, it distracts from the more reasoned and reasonABLE critiques of your behavior. I don’t make it a practice of making fun of chubby girls. I was one. I don’t make a practice of making fun of ANYONE, period. I have read the entire thread. I was speaking of the post where was name calling. I just don’t get why people clicked this post about her losing weight just to spew all the hate. We don’t have to like her because God knows I don’t but I also don’t have to act like she does and still point the finger.
I appreciate both sides. I try not to call names but…I completely agree that those that name call don’t deserve to be spared from it themselves.
My usual thought towards anyone who feels different than me is “to each his own” and that’s what makes the world go round. Good for her. I have a couple of friends that have battled their weight for years it has been a long bumpy road and they have not had much success. Its good to see someone succeed regardless of the method. Maybe she secretly used the recipes from Fit & Fabulous!

I really feel sorry for Lauren. I’m not proud of her weight loss because a) in my opinion, she didn’t need it. She is one of the few people that look good with a bit of roundness b) her self esteem is tied to her weight and I wish she would break that connection instead of giving into it and c) she validates her family’s abuse. Not only have they been mean when she had more weight, they have been incessantly commenting on how “good she looks now.” What was wrong with how she looked before??

I’m gonna have to call Bee Ess on Lauren’s weight problem. I’m convinced that it’s just a stupid plot contrivance to keep them relevant. I just saw pics of her from 2007-2009 and she was adorable — and in great shape. She looked a lot smaller than she does now, so…while she may have battled her weight from time to time, she really ballooned up after she started dating Vito and after the first season of RHNJ. She didn’t look like she did in that gawd-awful prom pic her mother showed in the pics I saw, and she obviously hasn’t been on the heavy side for all of her life! Speaking of Vito…was it season 2 that focused on Albie being pissy about Vito dating his sister? Lauren recently tweeted that she and Vito have been together for 3 years. I know real time is different in Reality TV terms…but, huh?
I don’t know about the timeline, but I DO believe Albie was a little weirded out by his self-described ” best friend ” dating his sister, but for a different reason than he stated on the show. Again, Vito was not only ALBIE’S friend first, but his ROOMMATE at Fordham, so it’s safe to say they knew a lot about each other! According to Don, SHE saw Vito and said ” Lauren, that’s your husband!” ( Remember, depending on when this was, Lauren was anywhere from 18 to 21, not exactly a spinster yet. Boy, they want to marry that girl off! ) Okay, so now, Vito practically is her husband – thanks Albie! Okay, now Greggy. He TOO was ALBIE’S friend, someone he met OUTSIDE the “fambly”, OUTSIDE of Jersey at college on his OWN. In Season 2, we’re treated to Lauren BITCHING and literally CRYING because not only Chris and Albie, but Greggy too, isn’t “including her” enough! She complained a little bit about Greggy pushing her out of the fold, but THEN in a talking head she aimed her ire at her brothers saying ” It’s not fair, they’re all buddy, buddy with Greg! I checked the date of the first time Vito was shown, and it was during season 2, a year after Lauren had been dating Vito–going by her math. Lauren had been dating Vito a few months when Albie had the sit-down with him, so I’m curious as to how phoney-baloney scripted RHNJ truly is — or isn’t.

Yep. Like I said, she seems to have trouble finding her own friends…..and husbands. Poor Albie has to handle that all for her, and if he has a problem with it, DonCaro and Lauren, tell him to shut up and deal with it, like they did when he found out Lauren was dating his best friend.

Congrats to Lauren for losing all that weight! She looks GREAT! Now let’s hope she can seperate a little from her family and become her own person and not caro’s little shadow.
I hope this works out for her long-term. As a personal trainer, this CAN be the start of good things for her as far as her weight and fitness goes.
But, I wonder what on earth her family will talk to her about now that they can’t berate her about her weight!

She did not, myblackfriendsays – 2 shakes of flavored “liquid egg whites” and a ” sensible ” meal 1 x a day. I don’t care that a Dr recommends it, to me, that’s not healthy and will almost guarantee she’ll regain it all back and them some. I feel bad for her.
If she really wants to lose weight she should have her jaw wired shut. Loose weight and STFU at the same time.

She lost the weight for now but she’s gonna gain it all back, and then some. Liquid diets are unhealthy and only guarantee short-term weight loss. The only way to lose weight and keep it off is to change your lifestyle and the way you eat and develop a different relationship with food. And when she does gain it all back, she’ll deserve it. She’s a truly miserable and ugly person inside and out, just like her mother.
I agree. Somewhere I heard her say she’s not allowed to eat pasta. You know, those evil carbs, I guess. How about eating 1 decent serving of whole wheat pasta with some nice red sauce and fresh basil and a salad? I admit, I’m not an expert, I have no credentials, but I can’t believe there are still so many ppl on these low carb diets AND so many drs pushing them. I guess the argument is “they work” meaning you will lose weight on them, but so what? 1. By that criterion, there are lots of diets that “work” and 2. Normal ppl in normal situations eat CARBS. Cut out soda and cake, yes, a nice bowl of pasta occasionally NO. Ok, rant finished.

Good for Lauren losing 50 pounds. I do not like liquid diets because I had several friends who did them. They were about Lauren’s size prior to doing the diet. They lost 30-40 pounds and looked great then gradually during the year they gained the weight back.
I hope for her sake it is not a short-term weight loss. I am a firm believer in portion control and working out with a trainer.
I don’t think she had surgery simply because of age. I would hope doctors would not qualify Lauren as a candidate without having her exhaust all other avenues for losing weight.
From what I’ve seen of her on TV with her borderline allergy to any activity, and talk about her extreme dieting? She hasn’t changed her unhealthy lifestyle. She might weigh less, but she’s still unhealthy. Health is not just about weight! She gets no kudos from me.

The Star magazine article last week said Lauren had the lap band surgery last summer.
If she had lap-band, which I hope she didn’t there is a high regression rate to gain even more than they lost because it is not a “Magic Bullet.”
Personally I think that she had lap band and serious lipo/breast reduction.
Unfortunately, when someone is as insecure as Lauren has displayed to be she will always see a fat person in the mirror. She needs therapy… mental one.

I dont know what REAL DR will give this chick lap-band at her age and also given he fact that she was not OBESE! Let’s be for real. CHick was not 100 pounds overweight. This photo looks photoshop and even if she had the procedure and doesn’t work out, she will look like a wet rag by the time she has a child.
I dont like Lauren at all. The fact that she had this big opening for her cosmetics or whatever and packed up the next day and quit, I have no respect for her at all, but I will say she actually looks pretty in the after pic.

Dear Lord! Lauren is horrid on the show towards others and on social media. She is so horrid on social media that she rarely ever receives positive tweets.
I am personally happy she lost weight. I hope she keeps it off and did it in a healthy way. However, to call the posters names it not only uncalled for, but also misinformed. Lauren is her own worst advocate and she is terribly mean. She has a lot of hatred to people she doesn’t know simply for disagreeing with her or her mother. She even went after her uncle Jamie on Twitter.
She really is a beautiful girl, no matter her weight. Her weight was never an issue until her mother made it one on national television this year. But her personality really sucks.
I really wish that these manzo spawns would just go away and hopefully take greggy with them.
Lauren looks fabulous. She put a lot of hard work into her weight loss, stayed committed to it and it paid off. I give credit where credit is due, and regardless of how I feel about her mother’s nastiness on the show, I think Lauren looks amazingly beautiful and should be very proud of herself!

I find it odd that she would qualify for this surgery. In most cases a person has to be extremely overweight, next to obese, before a respectable surgeon would perform a lap band procedure on a young person. A good life’s lesson….it’s not what you know but rather who you know!
