Is Melissa and Joe Gorga’s Marriage All Just Show For The Cameras?
It seems like the drama with RHONJ never stops! Housewife Joe Gorga has always acted “so in love” with wife Melissa Gorga but is it all for the camera? A lot would think so and according to RealityTea it is! Apparently their marriage has been all for show!
Sources reveal, “Melissa and Joe are not this fantasy couple. They are totally laying it on thick for the cameras and because Teresa and Joe are not in a good place. Melissa and Joe have had their own share of issues. This whole nonsense of him putting her on a pedestal has all stared since the cameras have been rolling!”
And get this Joe Gorga has also been accused of cheating on his wife. Surprise? Not so much! “Melissa had her own bout with Joe’s infidelities. Joe made a lot of demands on Melissa like staying thin even when pregnant.” Oh please! Like Joe of all people should be making demands like he’s Brad Pitt or something? Gag!

I could have told you since day one that Melissa and her sisters were jealous of Teresa prior to getting on the show. Or that the relationship between Joe and Melissa is phony. I mean they try so hard. They got on the show and immediately tried convincing the viewers that they are so in love! If you really love one another you don’t have to constantly prove it! To me, its been obvious this was all for the cameras. Melissa is a horrible actress and to me, it seems she cant stand Joe. She worked hard to turn him against his sister and it finally worked. Couples who have been married that long with kids dont act the way those two act. something has ALWAYS been off with those two. its a matter of time before the truth is out.

I have to disagree in your comment of “couples who have been married that long with kids don’t act that way” my husband and I have been together for 10 years, and just celebrated our 6 year anniversary and we have 3 boys with 3 different disabilities and how Joe and Mel ACT for the camera is about the same way my husband and I are, but we don’t act, lol. Hello! This was on Reality Tea! And of course their lovedovey bullpoop is an act to try and make the viewers think they are perfect and T is jealous. Even Stevie Wonder could see that
Tracy, that is completely misguided. It was Rox who published Melissa’s paystubs (they weren’t even paystubs but whatevs) from her bartending job a few months back and recanted what she had previously said about her formerly being a stripper. She writes what her feelings are about the information presented. And if new information surfaces that changes how she feels, she will print that too. Rox is very fair. Not to mention, this information came from Reality Tea, it was not given directly to her.
Not buying it! All pathetic rumor! Melissa and Joe couldn’t fake their relationship on camera, off camera and in every photo. They clearly love each other. The only one that would do everything in her power to dispute that would be Teresa!
So all these rumors are false? All the people from Melissas past that come forward and use their real names are all lieing? I believe it is fake. Teresa & Joe seem like they have a real relationship more than Joe & Melissa. It’s so obvious Melissa and her sisters and those they associate with are overcome with jealousy of Teresa and all she has. I remember reading one of the sisters facebook accounts way back when and when someone would post something rude and insulting about Teresa on her wall she would “like” it. A decent secure person does not “like” insults about a member of their sisters family. They all want to be Teresa, they want her life, her success and to be adored by loyal fans the way Teresa is. What they fail to realize, is the reason Teresa is adored and successful is because she is real – something I have yet to see from the wanna be sisters. Unfortunately for them, the only “fans” they have, aren’t that smart and cant’ see what is really going on. Also unfortunate, is that people like that generally don’t have a lot of money so good luck with the song sales – I’m on my way to buy some cookbooks

Joe created a lot of this competition.. I said it all along, just listen and watch some of the things he does. He knows his wife and his sister are in competition and because his ego is probably bigger than his you know what he fuels the fire. I see show Mel looks at him when she thinks the cameras aren’t watching, sometimes it’s with utter disgust in my opinion.

Too many unknown sources. However, I do think Joe shows too much PDA to be believed and Melissa always looks like she’s not all that receptive to him. Since he and Tre were so close, I can see how he would hope that his wife would be as accomplished as he felt his sister was. Hence, the jealousy and arguing start. Melissa is a very manipulative person. She plays the “poor, pitiful me” role perfectly. I don’t see this family coming together barring a horrible tragedy like the loss of a parent and we would hate to see that happen to anyone. Too many harsh, hateful words have passed between them. I think there’s always been some sibling rivalry between them, in Italian families the daughter is the princess and the son is the prince, so I believe that they have always been competing with each other in some way. I also believe that BOTH T and Joe Gorga have pitted their respected spouses against each other..Maybe there are reasons we don’t see, like T not liking Mel and Mel worrying that T is going to derail her gravy train, or Joe Gorga not liking the way Joe Giudice treated his sister… it’s very telling that Joe Gorga would say Teresa is in denial…she isn’t in denial about her financial issues, but maybe, just maybe her brother has an issue with how his sis was treated as a mother and a wife.
I think all the bad blood between these two families stems from someone trying to protect his or her sibling and butting in where they maybe shouldn’t. I can definitely see Joe Gorga opening his mouth to Teresa about Joe Giudice and we have seen Teresa do that to Melissa. I believe over the years the Gorga siblings have had a big hand in how acrimonious things have become.

No I do not think the family will ever be in a better place. Certain people have made sure of that. They may be able to be cordial, but close relationships are out the window! I do not think any of them will ever let go completely of the past, too much hurt and drama. One word or look will probably always turn something small into huge blowout. Damage is done, people have turned on each other, sense of “family’ does not exist.
Last season everyone was accusing Teresa of creating competition between the Joes. They all need to realize life is not a competition
I could of told you all this from day one. Family just don’t go on national television with other family members they don’t get along with. So, of course, Joey and Mel would do anything to “appear” better than the OG Teresa. From Mel’s comments before rhonj aired she was doing anything and everything to defame the show. She was always jealous.
Also, Joey and T we’re super close before they got married. Some issues occurred bc of juicy, but nothing major (T comparing juicy to her bro). But juicy is secure in himself and doesn’t get involved in drama. Now here comes Mel and Joey compares her to his sis. Knowing how trifling Mel is, she gets jealous, competitive, stalker ish, and starts to fight dirty. Now problems happen bc she can’t keep herself in check.
I think it’s just a bro and sis who used to really love and respect one another once upon a time. They were all they had since the rest of their fam was still in Italy. When they each got married, their time and attention started shifting to their spouses (as it should) and they didn’t know how to juggle both relationships without the other feeling neglected. Juicy may not have appreciated the comparisons, but he’s a man and doesn’t get into drama, whereas Mel pretty much lost it and sicked her crazy witches of eastwick sisters on T…. and that brings us to where we are now, folks.
I believe there is some truth to this article because of the conversation Teresa and her brother had in S3 at the restaurant. Joe Gorga complained to Teresa that she turned her husband against him because she constantly complared him to her husband. When Joe Gorga built a new house she put the pressure on her husband. BUT Joe Gorga did the same thing to his wife by constantly comparing her to his sister. Even Dina confirmed it when she was on WWHL with Andy. Teresa and Joe put each other first before their spouces. This tit for tat argument needed to stay in the privacy of their own homes. Teresa was an original housewife who started the show with her friends. Becuase of the discord between these two couples it was a mistake for the Gorgas to jump on Teresa’s coattails for fame. Joe is old enough to undertand that airing out the family dirty laundry is not worth the pain and humilation he is causing to his parents and children. Because Don Caroline and Jacqueline are enablers to the Gorgas and Wakile’s for not taking responsibilty for their actions.

Joe Gorga built his house first. Remember Mel and Joe moved in because they could not sell it. They were living in their house when Teresa was building hers in Season1. Teresa put the pressure on her husband to build her a house. Remember at the restaurant her brother mentioned that T was jealous they finished their house first because Joe Gorga took out a huge construction loan to finish it.
I dont think thats right. Gorgas home was built and on the market. It was never intended for them to live in. They moved in when Melissa signed her BRAVO contact.

First of all, the woman’s actions ALWAYS seem to betray her words whenever she has to get close to JoeGo. Whenever he even goes in for a kiss, she looks like she wants to BARF. In the beginning, I thought it might be more of an embarrassment thing like ” Ok Joe, Lets not be sexual in front of the cameras! That’s private!” But she doesn’t even want a kiss and she looks truly disgusted, not embarrassed to me.
JoJoLaMa – I agree. And when you compare Joey and MeGo’s interactions to Teresa and Joe’s interactions with each other in the first episode of season 1, I think you can see the clear difference in who is fakng attraction and love. There is no faking between Joe and Teresa, but you’re right about MeGo and Joey; from her I only see disgust and from him I see a possible sex addict.
one of my favorite scenes with Teresa and Juicy was at the restaurant when she asked him if she could get boobies. After joking about it with the waiter he said “happy wife, happy life”. He genuinely seemed to live by that philosophy. They have gone through some really tough times and his behavior hasn’t always been the best but IMO Teresa and those kids mean the world to him. He seems to tolerate the cameras and the show only because it’s what Teresa wanted.
Hannavas, have you recently watched season 1? I recently watched it and my opinion of Joe Giudice changed a little. They showed him as a loving husband and father up to the point of the gay slur. Since then he’s been shown in a bad way. Its hard to blame editing but i do believe he is getting a bad edit. I also believe he is dealing with some depression and maybe a drinking problem. It must be difficult for him as an italian man to have his wife being the bread winner. Not to mention the stress of basicly losing his own career. I still cant give him a pass on all his behavior but i understand a little better.

all the way from kenya africa…am a fan of rhnj.correction -was a fan.team teresa all the way..she is not perfect just like nobody is and does not try portray herself like an angel..that makes her real.frankly the gorgas and wakiles should have taken the road nene and marlo took.marlo was brought with hopes of clashing with nene and they ended up being best of friends and disappointed the smalls.if melissa teamed up with teresa they would have been unstoppable.in my country we have a saying that unity is stronger than division (translation maybe lost..english is not my first language). family is very important and seeing a family divided like that is sad. i feel bad for teresa because just a year ago my brother and i were in the same situation.we were a year apart and a girlfriend of his came between us.we were so close growing up that watching him forget all that and trash his family was hard to handle. it took him dying to realize that all that drama was bs and petty and it never really mattered.now all of us including the gf live in regret and guilt and would hate for that to happen to teresa and joe.as sad as it maybe, sometimes it takes something tragic to quit the bs.

I’m not going to even comment on if I think these rumors are true or not because they are just rumors and the “source” didn’t give their name. Plenty of rumors have been spread about Teresa and her marriage, too. But I DO want to point out something that did give me pause:
IF there is some truth to the idea that Joey used to put Teresa before Melissa, thus creating competition between the two of them (or at least in Melissa’s mind) it certainly explains her strange transformation from the old Melissa to the new carbon copy of Teresa-Melissa. If you look at old photos of her from when she and Joey were first dating, she looked nothing like she does now. Her hair was lighter and it is naturally curly so she just scrunched it and let it air dry it looks like. She didn’t wear a lot of make up. Her wardrobe consisted mostly of jeans, tank tops or t-shirts and sneakers. Now, she has jet black hair and it’s always done. Just like Teresa. She wears a lot of make up. Just like Teresa. She always has on sparkly, or furry, cute little outfits and always wears high heels. Just like Teresa.
If what that “source” said about creating competition is true, then Melissa could have very well thought that the way to boost herself up in Joey’s eyes was to become Teresa. So she did.
That’s scary.
Mel lost her dad at a young age, that’s sad for anyone to go through. Looking at it the way you described, I could almost understand her wanting to copy T, and be in competition with her for Joe’s affections. Maybe a sad thing that turned into an ugly thing…
You might be onto something there bhurst girl. It could stem from losing her father, whom we know she adored, and seeking out that same adoration from another man. Melissa speaks very highly of her father and it is obvious that losing him had a deep impact on her. I will never begrudge her the loving relationship she had with him because it is clear that it was genuine and that it still affects her.
I do have two observations about this though:
-Her copy cat routine with Teresa is well documented and it has gone on for years. There could probably be another book published just with the photos that exist of Melissa copying Teresa. I’m not exaggerating…they are out there. Why wouldn’t her VERY supportive sisters have pointed this out to her at some point? This is not normal behavior. It’s actually embarrassing! Why wouldn’t they tell her that she looks like a fool and to knock it off?
-Now we know that Teresa was being truthful when she wrote in her book that her baby sister-in-law copies everything she does. It clearly bothers her! She even said it to Caroline when she was questioned. “If the shoe fits!” Is she wrong? How can anyone accuse her of “taking a dig” at Melissa when the proof is right there that Melissa is actually doing this? Teresa is not lying!
I keep saying it over and over. I don’t think Melissa even realizes that she does this. Even when she was confronted with it (in the cookbook) her response was “I don’t even HAVE a front porch!”. She is oblivious to the fact that it is abnormal to copy everything that another person does. Which is why she A) doesn’t know she is doing it. Because she thinks it is okay. And B) why she was taken aback when Teresa called it out in the book. She seemed surprised as if this was the first she was hearing of it.
The strangest one to date was a few weeks ago when Teresa tweeted that she was taking – I think it was Milania – to the movies with a picture of her in the back seat of the car drinking a Slurpee. The next day Melissa tweeted that she was taking Gino to the exact same movie along with a picture of him in the back seat of the car also drinking a Slurpee. I mean, come on. There is NO WAY that was just a coincidence. She either did it on purpose because she copies everything Teresa does and that now includes her children. Or she did it on purpose just to try and get under Teresa’s skin. Either way, it’s bizarre and someone should tell her to cut the crap.
Remember that conversation Tre and Joe Gorga at their dinner where he compares the two “youse are both flashy…” I totally buy Joe starting sh*t between the two women.

I think Melissa’s love is all an act, sorry to say. I also think Teresa sees this and it’s one reason she’s not a big Melissa fan. However, I think now that there are children involved, Teresa is hoping that Melissa and Joe’s marriage succeeds. I also think she’s afraid that being on a reality show might not be the best thing for them-lots of stress, lots of rumors, and LOTS of made up stories in tabloids, which isn’t the best thing for a marriage unless it’s STRONG.
I think as long as Joe has money and is willing to spend it the way Melissa wants, she will be there. Not so sure what would happen if he went broke
Teresa also knows that when you sign on to a reality show everything is fair game. All the skeletons come flying out of the closet and onto the pages of tabloids.. Teresa also knows all the rumors and stories that have been floating around about melissa for YEARS. So it makes sense she would not want them on this show or any other reality show.. she knows her brother is going to be humiliated for the world to watch.. and Teresa herself knows how that feels. I agree with you!
P.S.. you know if you plan to run for an type of public office the first question your manager will ask is “is there anything in your past that could embarass you?’ So they can prepare for the moment it comes out.. This is the same question people considering a career in reality TV should ask themself.

Something that really bothers me about the former Lookers employee and Mr. PW Joey is they never eat dinner with their kids. Kids seem to eat by themselves in the kitchen. I when see the two of them eating dinner at home it is just the two of them at that long table. It always looks staged to me. I just get this feeling that they are just not into spending time with their kids and being a family unit. Dinner at Juicy Joe and Teresa’s always includes the kids and sometimes one of the parents.

I think it is staged- mean while at Teresa’s -Joe is chopping something with what appeared to be a pampered chef chopper, Teresa is at the stove and the kids are running and yelling and are underfoot-that is what my home was like when my kids were babies, that’s the real deal right there!! Bravo-you are really missing the boat on this one!

If you are in a relationship with someone it can be difficult enough at times without having to deal with wandering eye/cheating/created competition between family. Like when Joe G told Melissa what Teresa said about being a gold digger. My boyfriend would never tell me if any of his family said that about me – it is obviously bound to create animosity and cause further, unecessary arguments. Unless Joe G actually thinks it might be the case and he is using it against Melissa to try and keep her in her place.
I think he try’s to buy her love and affection through expensive gifts because he does look at/go with other women – ie the watch at Christmas – he is trying to differentiate between wives and mistresses.
I do think that M is a very attractive girl, and she could do way better than a short arse bug eyed J. Who clearly has short man syndrome.
Plus if he did put pressure on her to stay thin even in pregnancy, then it is disgusting. I have three children, with the first and third I didn’t put any weight on, only the weight of the baby, but with the middle I put on around 50lbs. Plus I was pregnant with my third when my second was 5 months old, so I am just starting to lose it now, and having three children, a house to look after and a part time job I don’t have the time to go to the gym and exercise. I can honestly say that I felt disgusting, massive, unattractive and vulnerable. I still do not feel good about myself and my third son is 9 months old, but I am less hard on myself because I know that with time I will go back to how I was. Women are hard enough on themselves, as is the rest of society, without having the one person who should live you regardless and be supportive making things difficult. No wonder Melissa regularly looks disgusted when Joe goes near her.

Is anyone really surprised though? I mean come on. Melissa gets on RHONJ and the FIRST season she’s already recording a song, really? But yet they didn’t do this for the fame, right? Or to get under Teresa’s skin? I like Kathy, have nothing against her….I am not all too crazy about Rich, but he doesn’t even bug me NEARLY as bad as Joe does. The constant sexual comments….if they have THAT great of a sex life, there’s no need to constantly talk about it or talk about how he needs to “release his poison”…….you got that much built up, then odds are you aren’t having as much sex as you want everyone to think you are. Those that TALK about it the most, aren’t the ones DOING it the most, just sayin.
As for Joe feeding the competition between Melissa and Teresa…..those that don’t believe that to be true, ask yourself why Joe Gorga felt the need to tell Melissa what Teresa said to him in private. You might say “he doesn’t keep secrets from her” or blah blah blah, but when it’s something that you KNOW is going to cause upset or hurt your wife’s feelings….then what’s the point in saying it, other than to cause a bunch of crap that will start a feud all over again. Joe could have kept that to himself and PRIVATELY (a word neither him nor Melissa seem to understand) told Teresa not to talk that way about his wife, and if she continued to do it they would no longer speak. SIMPLE. So what if Teresa holds the opinion that Melissa will meet a richer guy and dump Joe…..does that make it TRUE because it’s said? Nope. So why get THAT upset over it?
