Exclusive: The Real Reason Lauren Manzo Revealed She Had Surgery To Lose Weight!
Recently RHONJ star Caroline Manzo’s daughter Lauren Manzo revealed the real reason she lost weight was because she got a surgery called Lap Band. Turns out Lauren Manzo wasn’t even going to tell anyone that she had the surgery until someone in the office leaked to the tabloids!
Sources close to the situation tells AllAboutTRH exclusively that the doctor she went to is the same one Caroline and her father Albert used! Yep, that means Caroline had Lap Band surgery too and Lauren was never going to come clean but someone else in the office leaked to tabloids about Lauren so she fessed up and posed for US weekly!
Obviously a bad doctor office if the receptionist are breaching confidentiality and HIPPA laws!
The source adds, “Dr. Perrnicone, her nutritionist, is mad because she was supposed to pretend all of the loss was from his program. Even though she is doing his program its not the main source of her weight loss. Going to him (on camera no less) was an elaborate ruse to cover her upcoming lapband which was much harder to conceal from the press now than Caroline’s following season!”

I’m not surprised! Haha! She shouldn’t be talking so much about Tre when look at herself.
I feel a bit bad for her because women struggle with weight all the time, but I look at her inside, and all I see is a dark soul! She would be pretty if she wasn’t so petty and bitter with everyone, but that won’t change as much even though she’s skinny because when you are this negative at a very young age.
I feel Lauren will go into a deep depression later on because of all the pressure she gets from her family and tv viewers, and I hope she gets treated because I would hate to see her suffer. I don’t like her one bit, but I can’t stand watching people with depression. It’s just too sad!

This was a no brainer, since Lauren brought up the fact to her father that he and her mother both had lapband and why shouldn’t she? What makes me sick is her lying and hypocracy. Again they treat the fans as if they were idiots. Acting one way in front of the camera and then tell the press or twitter a different story.
Again the Manzo’s are doing a stellar job at child rearing!! I always thought these procedures were for extremely overweight individuals. For Lauren to have had lap band surgery is ridiculous. Don’t teach your kids to preserver Caroline..buy them whatever necessary to succeed. Whatever happened to good old fashion diet and exercise??

Talk about Karma…Its so great to see all of this happen to the Manzo’s Laurita’s…She is going to pay for this in the long run, i bet she will have health problems for the rest of her life…I will stick to the gym.
Lauren, she wont have health issues later. LapBand is a tool to help you with a lifestyle change. Its portion control and restricts the amount of food you can consume. Its a great tool and is way healthier than yo-yo dieting. Lauren and Caro should be ASHAMED of themselves for lieing about this. They tried to lead young ladies down a path of destruction with this idiotic egg white diet! LapBand is much healthier, safer and the results are for a lifetime. The lapband is removed after ten years but by that time the person has changed the way they eat and work out.
I think its DISGUSTING that they tried to lead young ladies down a dead end road to earn a buck. They have no right to talk trash about Teresa! At least Teresa is giving people healthy recipes that wont lead to health issues. assholes! lol
I think portion control and exerciser is a great tool for life. I am in my thirties and in great shape. I would never do surgery like that unless it was completely necessarily. In Lauren case, it was an easy way out.She will have complications later on in life…i could never be friends with a lazy quitter.She will end up FAT AND UPHAPPY.

I feel bad for her, really. It’s really hard to lose weight if you’re depressed. Depression saps your energy and creates a mental block around exercise. If my family was as mean as hers, I’d be depressed too. It’s also obviously wrong for teh doctor to breach confidentiality. OTOH, she’s on a reality show. It’s unrealistic to think people aren’t going to wonder what’s up when she’s looking tired and lethargic and unmotivated, then she drops all of the weight overnight. Duh!

Srt, Im sure you are still a kind person! You know when I first ever started commenting in this site, I was met with very nasty comments that at one point hurt my feelings. I have such a caring heart even with and about strangers, especially if something bad or sad has happened! Its sounds silly but when you are a compassionate and sensitive person, even strangers words hurt and are insulting. Anywhoo, I try my best to never let anyone especially a stranger change me, but if need be, I can be snarky back,. Just never thought I would have to do on a blog site. O, and I see what you mean about Lauren with this, and I agree- they probably are gonna be giving it to her for a while with this one- then again, its her own fault for trying to lie, or whatever she calls it.

I believe that surgery is 30 thousand dollars without insurance. But its easy to get approved with insurance. You only have to be 50 pounds over-weight and prove that you have worked hard and are unable to lose it. Plus you had to have been over weight for 3 years. So again that shoots Caro down on her tiny tiny lies.. this lie, the snake oil water, the water commisson scam and the way they treat Teresa… These people are con artists and believe viewers are FOOLS.

Well I hear from someone it might be due to Depression. Their usually takes longer to get approval. Or so I heard from one large health provider BlueCross and Blue Shield but if you have a referral it can be shorted significantly. I heard the referral could have been as a result of Depression. I am not sure, but that is what I heard.
You typically have to have other health issues that are a result of the weight. High blood pressure etc.. Depression could easily be a factor in that!

You are so correct Srt_3 What message is being sent to young girls struggling with their weight? ( amongst other things) I’m disturbed on so many levels. First and foremost had lauren not been busted she’d would’ve happily misrepresented herself as would her mother. She would have allowed the viewers to believe through hard work, diet and exercise she accomplished this dramatic transformation. now we find out that her weight loss was bought and paid for!!

I have known people who had lap band surgery and they lost 30lbs in just a couple of months. It’s been what 9 months for Lauren; I wonder if it wears off. I would think after that amount of time she would have lost much more weight. Just saying…..
Say what- Im surprised you only have to be 50 pounds over!! I guess thats what separates from gastric bypass and other surgeries? 50 pounds is sweat and tears to lose if you are determined, not lazy, and change your eating habits! Been there done that after 2 c sections. 7 months it took to come off, 5 days at the gym for 2 to 2 and half hours, and every class the gym offered! The best way to burn everything was spin class!!
Michers, i love hearing comments from people like you. I actually enjoy my time at the gym (i do go to an all women s gym), but it so empowering, and i could never imagine putting my body through that kind of surgery. I am also the type of person that loves dinners out with my husband, and drinks with my girlfriends. I would never give that up just to lose weight fast.
Tiffany, i think you might be confusing LapBand with the gastric bypass. LapBand is a low risk out patient surgery that just constricts the amount you can consume. You would still be able to go out to dinner and have drinks with friends.
The thing is, Lauren has had this for how long ? Only lost 30 pounds? At her age a personal trainer could have dropped that weight quicker than the lapband. She obviously is not putting the work into it. On top of that, she tried to lie and lead people to believe some crazy yo-yo egg white diet did this!!
I had gastric bypass 10 years ago. I have put back on some weight (lost 130+, put back 20 from 2 pregnancies)…I work out 3 days a week for 2 hours and I’m still in great shape. I eat (I’m a total foodie) and drink and have a wonderful life. I just do wonderful things in moderation. It makes me sick that surgery has become a quick fix.
I had a gastric bypass when I was 26, 16 years ago. I was lauren’s height and weighed 191 lbs (only six more than her). I played raquetball everyday for 1 1/2 Monday through Sunday and did weights every other day, and was still heavy. WHy because I did eat alot, I love to cook and create dishes. No desserts just food! Insurance did not cover it back then and paid for it cash. It was the hardest thing I have ever done but it taught me to eat well. I have never gained the weight back I still weight 128 lbs and no lose skin because I was in my 20′s skin returns to its shape easily and I was very active. Was I lazy? No, I worked out everyday. Unfortunately, not one single doctor helps you with your brain and food. Like my friend who has the lapband says, we have surgery on our stomachs not our brains.
What have I learned? I can eat everything I want but in moderation. Had I not had the surgery, I would be dead now of a heart attack, stroke or diabetes. I had to work on my self-esteem that was below ground and my depression after the surgery. Now I thank God I did it and that I am still alive.

APK fantastic post. LapBand is different than bypass but in the end the result is portion control so I always felt LapBand was the better choice. Its ONLY a tool to teach you what youre doing wrong. You still have to work out, eat right and control your portions. Lauren getting the lapband is healthier than yo-yo dieting for the rest of her life. Its a tool that will teach her a healthier lifestyle if she works the program. Im only pissed that she lied and led young girls to believe that an unhealthy starvation diet of egg whites and shakes were the way to go. Everyone knows as soon as you end those diets you gain all the weight back.

I agree, Keppler! I don’t like her at all, but I would feel bad if she goes into a deep depression due to her weight. I’m sure the lap band surgery must be hard for her. I can’t imagine not eating what I want to eat. I would feel miserable!
I think her depression was caused more by her brothers, mother and “Greggy” cracking those “fat” jokes to her, let alone the comments she made about Vito during that episode they had at the kitchen table. Could you imagine what they say off-camera? What a “supportive” group!

This is only the weight issue, I see her emulate her mother with her judgemental attitude about Ashlee, Tre and others. Momma Moo Manzo should be quiet and get humble, she has plenty of things she should have done differently.
I think exersize can help with depression if she would have stuck to it. She was way to young to get the surgery. She is lazy and was looking for a quick fix.
She is young enough that to possibly could have been handled that way, so I agree lauren. And also as a mother why wouldn’t Caro get her daughter to a different kind of doctor if she was so depressed? Not being mean but most of her depression most likely came from her own family with the way the talked to her. Imagine what we did not see and hear off camera!

You are right. Depression acute or chronic and it would have to be chronic to be deemed a medical condition for LB. Depression does not automatically go away due to weight loss.
She was on a severely restricted, low-calorie diet. You’re not supposed to exercise much on those because you can pass out, get sick and anyway it will only make you hungrier.
I hate hearing the word “restrictive diet”, it always reminds me of what my friends with eating disorders would say…It was always painful to watch the people you love go through that.
I feel bad for this girl, I really do. She took the drastic measure of having unwarranted weight loss surgery due to the pressures of her family. Watching the show, you cannot tell me that her family (mom particularly) was not the cause of this. Not ONCE on camera did I hear Caroline tell this child that she was beautiful just the way she was or even attempt to boost her self esteem.
Unfortunately, surgery or not, if she is not in the right mind set, this will be a short term solution that will backfire on her.

On the show she says she is beautiful and then follows it with: BUT…..and then adds something like….she has to lose weight. She gives a conditional compliment, which is the same to Lauren as her taking it back. That is very discouraging, especially to your child who just wants you to love you exactly as you are. If you need to make changes, you can deal with in a better way.
Caroline is seriously messed up. How many times did she get defensive about her crappy treatment of Lauren and stay things like “I’m not fake! I’m not going to tell you you look good when you’re fat!”???? That POOR girl. It’s sick enough for her to do the my daughter’s a fatty I can’t relate because I always looked like Melissa bs, but when she herself had weight-loss surgery too. There are no words. I’m just shocked Caroline and Jac have never pulled Teresa’s girls aside and made fun of their weight, it seems to be their go-to move for destroying kids’ self-esteem.
How about telling her that in her eyes and the eyes of God she is perfect and that what and who she is as a woman is not defined by if she can put a bikini on but the strength and beauty of her character.

I am glad you all could appreciate it. I am very adamant that we would have a lot less problems in society as a whole if the concept of “self worth” and how we achieve it was understood as an inside out thing as opposed to outside in. Too many people look for outside sources to validate who they are as people and it is based on things, stuff and circumstances. All of which can change from one moment to he next. Our value ( as I understand it) is intrinsic to the beauty and dignity of life having been created in the image our our Maker.
The strength /beauty of our character and soul will not diminish unless we give it away by giving others the power to define who we are and why.

I hope the Manzo family gets sued for false advertisement. Hell Sketchers got sued for that Kim K endorsed shoe, and I saw that commercial and didn’t get the impression it really guaranteed anything. These lying bitches directly said she lost weight because of Perricone’s plan. I really really really hope they have another lawsuit on their hands- both from customers and Perricone himself. If he had Lauren sign a contract and she violated it…

Now, see, BCJen, it’s the opposite for me. I guess it’s because I am aware that the potential for future complications from this surgery is almost limitless. And the fact is that it could all have been for naught given there is also a potential for her weight gain to continue as she ages. That is only one of a whole host of reasons a really good, reputable doctor would never want to perform gastric bypass on someone as young as Lauren who only has a weight ‘problem.’ She was nowhere near “morbidly obese,” one of the accepted prerequisites for lap band surgery. Given Lauren’s present and future health and well-being was put at risk to satisfy her (or her mother’s) vanity is, to me, the bigger sin than lying about it would ever be. Lying about it to me is on a par with, “…did you have sex with that…?” The only answer to that is ‘none of your business!”

I have nothing against people having WLS of any kind. But I find it kind of wrong that she went all this time letting people think she did this strictly with diet (the one shown on the show) and exercise alone. Don’t lie to people and have them believing that if they do this miracle diet & work out they will drop pounds the way you have as well. I saw on twitter that she is telling people she had the band loosened and is losing the last 30 on her own…..doesn’t matter. She lost the first few pounds due to Lap Band. That’s a far cry from eating nothing but egg whites and berries.
Oh and btw, I remember either the first or second season reunion show, Andy asked Caroline how she lost all her weight because she looked fabulous and Caroline’s exact answer was “portion control”. Interesting. Nice to know the Manzo’s never lie.

I am not a fan of Lauren’s – in fact, I think she behaves very badly most of the time. However, she does have a right to expect privacy with anything concerning her medical records. It is truly outrageous that any employee of her physician leaked details of her medical care – it doesn’t matter if she is being treated for weight loss or a cold.

True! She can sue, outting her to a blog site after she outed herself falls under public domain. If the receptionist outed her first then it is another issue. The doctor who did the procedure is still private. The case is limited at best because Lauren already told the public. She did on her Twitter Acct and to a Magazine. She has no expectation of privacy that she had LB at this time. She does have expectation of privacy as to the reason why, but the conjecture she has already stated in excerpts in Radar and to US Weekly are that it likely was not due to physical illness, or morbid obesity, but Depression. However, she did fit the mold for near the weight issue. She said she lost 10 pounds on Perricone amonth prior to operation. She was 185 with Perricone which makes her 175. Normal weight for 5’3″ is not 120, but 135. 120 is her goal weight but not guideline weight. Insurances use guideline not what you would like. But she was in the zone and she had issues Depression that hampered her losing weight.
I am not a fan of Lauren. She is out there. I believe she misled the public and profited from it.

Personally I do not have any empathy for Lauren. I did in the previous article. I do not care if she had Lap Band or went to wacky Thai clinic to lose weight. I just expect her to be real and not promote products, retweet the people who buy them, give out receipes from the Perricone plan, sell Perricone detox and vitamins, and make everyone believe that is how she lost the weight. She said it many times in her twitter line and on FB she used Perricone’s plan. We assumed it was how she lost the weight and she sold the products, but now it is all a farce. That is what lets me have no empathy for Lauren because she was and is full of it.

They could have said Lauren was out of her mind depressed and had a lap band to help her. Wow, let me preface this by saying, I really DO feel badly for this girl. Honestly. Seriously. I BLAME CAROLINE as I think she set this in motion. Lauren has the absolute RIGHT to keep her medical records PRIVATE. Now, all that having been said, Lauren LIED about how she lost weight. The ironic thing is that if Lauren ‘fessed up because her mother was going to be “outed” for having her lap band surgery it was definitely an exercise in futility. That horse galloped out of the barn almost two years ago! I keep remembering the scene with Lauren and Big Al “hitting” golf balls. The entire conversation was a lie and obviously staged (we knew that before this lap band story hit the presses). Her complaints about her “diet plan” and his bragging on her for losing weight the “hard way”… Such bs. I’m not a fan of Lauren’s (I think her snarky attitude makes her unattractive, not her weight) but having weight issues myself I did feel proud of her for sticking to a diet (or so I thought) while dealing with the constant comments from her family. Remember the field day at Jaqueline’s and the fuss that was made over what Lauren could and couldn’t eat? She also said she couldn’t drink alcohol. Lies, lies, lies. Obviously Jaqueline knew about the surgery yet she freaked out over Teresa not telling her about Joe’s text. I don’t see how these people can accuse Teresa of being a liar, fake, etc. when they were playing along with the liquid diet lie the entire time.

I for one am not suprised by the lie because I knew it was just that….but what I know for sure is:
Lapband surgery, although much safer than gastric bypass, is still very dangerous. Many have succumbed secondary to the procedure because they were unable to mentally grasp site of their new image, stopped eating, or developed irreversible conditions including but not limited to infection. In fact, unless the patient has been assessed through the PCP, been referred with a psychiatrist from 6 months to a year, placed on the liver shrinkage diet, and successfully lost a certain amount of weight independently, it is not approved through any insurance.
Patients only qualify if weighing at least 200 lbs and with underlying health concerns (ie HTN, NIDDM, IDDM, etc). Therefore, Lauren’s procedure definitely involved three things: private pay, closely monitored, and option to be removed once desired weight has been obtained.
Lapbands can be adjusted to protect patients from aggressive weight loss. There are diet adjustments pre and post the surgery plus nutritional supplements as well. So although many may view the procedure as a “quick fix,” my professional experience as NP for greater than 20 years, can tell you that Lauren’s decision to have this procedure presents a lifetime of changes, psychologically as well as physically, just as losing weight the old fashioned way but with far greater liabilities. It may fall off quickly, but good health becomes a major factor and still requires physical activity to sustain muscle and avoid additional health related issues. I have seen many patients fail to thrive post surgery with one in particular down to 80 lbs at the time she unfortunately expired, secondary to starvation. Not the “quick fix” at all.
In most cases, lapband surgery is the last resort and I find it disturbing that some doctors are willing to cut corners for vanity with what was once considered an attempt to extend life. Apparently her physician knows something that we do not.
I am certainly not a fan of the Manzo clan, their behavior is intolerable. Still, I wish Lauren well with all of this….she’s young and should have opted to eat healthier and exercise. Guess that’s the celebrity life. She’s a celebrity, NO?

Thanks for outlining this. My initial reaction was that there was no way that she was heavy enough to have the procedure, but it makes sense if it was private pay. That’s awful that they appear to have misled peple about her weight loss journey.

I dont know in what field you practice as an NP, but as the spouse of someone who has a LAP band, the niece of another LAP band patient and a participant with my family members in the whole process including support groups–you are simply flat wrong on nearly all of what you are saying here.I am not saying that it has not been YOUR experience that things work this way with this surgery, but you stated firmly that you KNOW these things to be absolutely true and they are not.
First, you are wrong about the weight requirements. LAP band is recommended for people who are at least 50 pounds overweight with co-morbidity and patients who have no co-morbidity should not be considered unless they are morbidly obese or nearly so. There is no “you must weight at least 200 pounds”, granted, usually the patient IS going to weight at least that much under these guidelines, but if one SHOULD weigh about 120 and one weighs 185, that falls within the manufacturer’s recommendations in the presence of another chronic condition.
Second, the manufacturer recommends “clearance” by a mental health professional, there are no guidelines or requirements for therapy pre surgery by either the manufacturer or insurance companies as a whole. From personal experience and from the experiences of several hundred people via support groups, several visits to a mental health professional are generally required, I have never heard of one person who had to undergo months of therapy in order for either the surgeon or the insurance company to agree–and I asked. (Yes, I know, you know better, but wait–wait for it!)
Third, the statement that no insurance company will approve the surgery absent these things you talk about AND the loss of a certain amount of weight is simply not true AT ALL!
How do I know this? Three different surgeries. Three different patients, Different states, different surgeons, different insurance companies. Listening to lots and lots of stories from patients in support groups, both locally and online. As for the “option of removal” there is ALWAYS an option for removal with LAP band!
There may be people reading these comments who are seriously considering this surgery. While the things you talk about may be your experience, they are not the norm according to my experience, and the experience of all the people we have connected with via support groups. You may not like the surgery and you may not like Lauren Manzo’s choice, that’s your prerogative. Problem is, you are not correct about the majority of patients and what they experience, and it would be unfair and terrible to scare someone who is exploring their options with their medical team.
Actually she was 175 when she went for treatment and at 5’3″ average healthy weight is 135. She said she lost 10 pounds with Perricone. She confirmed again today and it was a month prior to the surgery. Just saying if we want to really stick to the guidelines 40 pounds over is NOT within the guidelines.

Yes there have been. It is dyspepsia and a rare but known side effect from lap band. I can send you the link. Dyspepsia is when the stomach does not ingest the food and when it moves though the digestive track absorption does not take place. It is a known risk in lap band and is in the literature and in peer review.

Doesn’t the FDA go by BMI? I read that it used to be approved for a BMI of 40 or over and that in Feb 2011 they changed it to 30 coupled with a health condition related to obesity.

None of this is true for the LapBand. You do have to be evaluated by a phyc doctor. You do have to have a documented history of trying to lose the weight. But there is no liver shrinkage or any of that involved in the LapBand. Gastric Bypass maybe.. but Def not for the lapband. The lapband is a device thats clamped around the stomach with a port sewn into the abdomen wall. Its an outpatient surgery done laproscopic. The recovery time is 2 weeks. Some people are off work less than a week!

You may be an RN but i worked for a Bariatric doctors office for 3 years and I do know the difference in the lapband and gastic bypass. There is no liver shrinkage, or trouble with food absorbtion. I find it hard to fault Lauren. Then there are her brothers whose “work” is based on theft and patent infringement. How can you expect better of her.
Fraud is the family operandus. That she conspired in a fraud to promote a diet shake does not surprise me. I am curious to learn if she was paid for her role in presenting this fraud on television. Yes, her HIPAA rights were violated exposing this fraud. That’s unfortunate, though not as unfortunate as thousands of people buying the shakes thanks to her fraudulent misrepresentation of their effectiveness nor as unfortunate as the despair felt by women who try to follow her example and fail and feel worthless, not knowing that her entire story was a lie from beginning to end.

I think back to the episodes showing Chrittofer & Lauren in their “gym” at the Manzo mansion. Remember Albie working out all the time? THAT’S why he looks good because HE’S NOT LAZY like the rest of the Manzo crew.
Unless your health is at serious risk, that lap band surgery is for lazy people who can’t get off their ass and do what they need to do to lose the weight. Also sitting around eating, complaining, excuses constantly and NOT exercising WILL cause depressive mood. FACT
I realize not everyone is built the same, but everyone can make a choice to take care of themselves. I am 43 and had 3 children ( 1 of them a 10 lber, naturally I might add) and I have always taken good care of myself physically. I’m not a health nut, but I’m certainly not lazy.
There is nothing more annoying to me than someone complaining that they’re overweight but yet won’t take the initiative to DO something about it. A simple walk every evening makes a world of difference.

The problem of this isn’t should she or shouldn’t she have had the procedure, but that she lied and committed fraud! In criminal law, a fraud is “an intentional deception made for personal gain or to damage another individual.” That’s what Lauren did, which is illegal and consequences should be served!
I just watched the video clip of Lauren on the Insider and I don’t think she came off well at all.
I liked the part where she was calling “someone” on the RHONJ a liar during an interview she was doing to admit she lied about her weight loss. Just another hypocrite

I’ve been reading all of these comments… and I agree with most of them. Honestly… I think surgery is the EASY way out and it takes someone with little to no DRIVE take the easy way out like she did. Whats wrong with eating healthy and exercise and HARD WORK??? Shes had everything handed to her on a silver platter… so I guess she didn’t think she needed to WORK for weight loss either!!!
Personal Experience: I have 2 kids… with my first I gained 65 lbs… with my 2nd I gained 90 POUNDS!!! Yes you read that right!!! I took matters into my own hands and was DEDICATED to losing the weight and getting healthy!! Today at 37 yrs old I am 5ft 8in tall and PROUD to say that I am a size 2 and weigh 119 lbs… but I RUN 5 DAYS A WEEK and I watch what I eat every single day… and I say NO to cake and twinkies and doritos!! Lauren could have done the SAME EXACT THING!!
Weight loss is HARD WORK and takes TIME and is NOT EASY!! However… taking the easy road and CHEATING by Lap Band Surgery is sending the wrong message to people… especially teenagers!. It pisses me off quite frankly how smug Lauren is being with all of this… shes a phony just like her Mama!

Hey, I didn’t read through all the comments but are you guys saying that Lauren was touting some other fad-type diet and claiming that THAT’S what made her lose weight, but in fact she had lap-band surgery? If that is true that is the lowest of low. She KNOWS young girls with weight issues are watching her struggle and going to follow her lead if her fad diet seemed to work. That is truly appalling if this is what happened.

A real housewives episode aired where she goes to see a diet dr – Dr. Perricone and he puts her on this crazy diet ( in my opinion ) of little more than liquid egg whites and the occasional tiny piece of grilled chicken. Oh, and his, outrageously expensive vitamin supplements. Then she starts talking about her weight loss all over twitter and tweeting pics of her new, slimmer figure and very clearly crediting Dr. Perricone not only for her weight loss, but for “making me happy again!”. She also talked to a lot of young women and girls about their weight struggles ( all documented on twitter ) about what was ” working for her ” IOW, the PERRICONE DIET. Lots of girls and women tweeted her talking about how they too, went and bought Perricone’s crap because of Lauren’s story. THEN, like a month later, right ahead of being outed by someone in her lapband surgeon’s office, she gives an “exclusive” to US weekly and the Insider because she ” just wanted to be honest”. Yesterday, I kind of felt badly for her because I think her mother is the reason she took such drastic action ( surgery at 23 ) and I still do, for THAT, but 24 hrs later, I really think she’s a lying piece of sh*t.

Oh it is true. Dr. Perricone’s detox, diet and hundreds of dollars of vitamins. That is the big one. Perricone supplements are around $100-150/month such the vitamins without the plan, shakes or anything else.
TO be honest, I don’t give a fig. AATRH is trying to create drama. If lap band helps, fine. Lauren is a great gal – and she still has to eat well and move to keep it up. It would be great if she talked about it just to help others or give them a realistic idea but its not her job.

i would never had judged her or cared if she got lapband, i do not consider it a weakness. Lying about it, and getting money for false endorsements are another matter.
It is not healthy to be over weight and even 30 lbs of extra weight can be very unhealthy long term.
So here instead of being an example of someone who wants to take her health in her hands, she has tainted her testimony with her lies. Her mothers’ unsympathetic position on her daughter’s value as a woman is very sad. Caroline is certainly no feminist, how dare she question the way Tre raises her 4 daughters. How dare she.

…not to start anything but..I just want to say that SH does work very hard on her blog, so if she is a tad aggressive defending it or the info on it I try to give her a pass.
Maybe you and your Mom had used the same IP address at one time and she assumed you were a troll-another thing she aggressively defends her blog from. I am just putting it out there as food for thought because she seems to pay a lot of attention to IP addresses, mentioning them as often as she does IMO.

Thanks, but I’ve never from my understanding used the same IP adress, and my mom didn’t attack her blog. She said Melissa was narcissistic and from what the video showed of Mel- T seems to be more engaged w/ her fans, a Melissa follower said how all Tre fans tend to be basically closed minded and that it’s a waste of time to go to ANY of their booksignings. I got defensive and stated it’s not very open-minded to put T fans as a whole and gave some examples of bad Mel fans as to why she wouldn’t want to be rated as a whole. My mom wrote saying It’s okay, don’t get defensive- Ms.SH deleted that part, kept the end of her comment which said, this will be my first and last comment( Just bc she’s not a big commentor) and wrote saying we’re the same people. I don’t take my mom being falsely accussed lightly, lol!

I talked about this here before. I, too, was treated first-hand to SH’s temperamental (and by now, tedious) treatment of dissenting opinion(abusive response, deleted post). I had written a dispute of SH coverage of the reunion show where Teresa roared at Danielle, “Do not BRING up my family.”
SH was of the mind, at the time, that Teresa had said, “Do not BREAK up my family.” Of course, we found out at the last reunion when Teresa explained herself that she had indeed said “Bring” up my family.
When I commented on SH I very matter-of-factly explained why I was sure Teresa had said “bring.” One being I am familiar with the North Jersey accent, (my best friend growing up said “sangwich). Also, I explained, in a very friendly (nowhere near snarky let alone belligerent) tone, what Teresa had meant was an ‘Italian thing.’ As in she didn’t even want her family’s name in Danielle’s mouth. Well, she went nuts and finished her rant by deleting my posts and preventing me from further posting.
After Teresa’s verification of what she had said, I contacted SH and asked her to de-ban me. She refused and also refused to acknowledge her mistake.
But, just as with some others I am aware of, the experience at SH’s place led me to Roxy’s place and I haven’t looked back with longing once!

Why does everyone seem to think that she should of told the truth about how she lost her weight? It is a personal matter, and quit Franklin I dont think she owes anything to us and it is def none of our business how she chose to do it. I mean the story did get leaked so why not come out with the whole truth.
P. Long – I don’t think anyone believes we were OWED her personal weight loss story. SHE, unprompted and completely uninfluenced by anyone ( except maybe her hosebeast mother ) DECIDED to make it a central storyline on her mother’s REALITY show. Then she proceeded to LIE about how she lost weight. And it wasn’t a passive lie – it’s not like someone just assumed she lost it through the Perricone Plan and she simply failed to correct them. No, SHE tweeted pictures of her new, slimmer figure and credited Perricone not just for helping her lose weight, but restoring her very psychological health! ( Thank you for making me happy again, Dr. Perricone! ) If that isn’t bad enough, she talked back and forth on twitter with young women and in some cases, GIRLS about THEIR weight loss struggles and what “worked for her” ( IOW PERRICONE and simple will power) MANY of these women and girls tweeted that they TOO, bought Perricone’s crap…err wonderful vitamins and egg whites BECAUSE of Lauren’s high profile example and success. She never said a word and in many cases, gave them the thumbs up for buying his rather expensive stuff. At BEST, she’s a lying scumbag, at worst, she might have committed some kind of infraction that would be the impetus for a civil action.

Lauren (and possibly Perricone) continued to let the public believe that she was losing weight through Perricone’s weight loss system. She HAD to acknowledge her surgery because she was going to be ratted out. If she wasn’t forced to go public about her surgery, how long would she have continued to let her “fans” (her word) think that she was losing weight because of Perricone?
I don’t believe that Perricone wouldn’t have known that Lauren had LBS. And, if that’s true, they both scammed the public when neither party came clean vis a vis full disclosure. It’s neither morally nor ethically sound to delude the public when one or both parties are profiting from this scam. It seems to me that with all of the legal issues involving the Manzo/Laurita family, this nut doesn’t fall far from the bushes.

Lauren really is a piece of sh*t LIAR. I really, really WANT to feel badly for her because I KNOW Caroline is the root of all her issues, but she’s made it nearly impossible. Yes, Calzoned – plus, she claims ( who knows what the real truth is ) that she DID lose on Perricone – 14 lbs, so that means in NINE MONTHS after having weight loss SURGERY, eating nothing but ” lean protein and vegetables” AND working out for “TWO HOURS a day, FIVE days a week” she’s only lost 16 lbs? ( She claims to have lost a TOTAL of 30 ). I’m not picking on her for that. I KNOW, weight loss is HARD, but the whole point of taking such a drastic measure as surgery is it FORCES you to eat so little, you lose tons of weight no matter what. I’m just saying, there’s something more to this story here. This is conjecture, but I suspect she didn’t lose a POUND on Perricone, or did, but gained it all back and then some, and she’s probably lost all that PLUS 30 due to the surgery. The reason for THIS lie would be Perricone is pissed and she’s trying to straddle that very difficult line of pretending like BOTH methods worked for her.
Totally off subject but I had to vent after reading jacqueline’s blog. She really has lost it. She wants to convince viewers that ppl actually control what is written on magazines! So we are to believe that celebs tell magazines to write nasty things about them?!? Also she wants us to believe that if you pose with other ppl one of them controls what is written about the other?!? Is she serious?!?!? Sounds like the “opportunity” she keeps referring to Teresa stealing is the vow renewal cover. Lap band surgery is a great way to lose weight. Lauren is not well liked on the show and now deceiving the people on how she is losing it does not help her any.
When she mislead everyone that she was using a doctors weight loss program and instead had lap band surgery makes her a deceitful liar.
